We saw Faarooq and Bradshaw, The Acolytes walking through the back as we headed to break...

Match #3: Al Snow & Steve Blackman v. The Acolytes.  "What Is Fight Club?" by Dust Brothers brought out the team of Al Snow and 'The Lethal Weapon' Steve Blackman to the ring for our next matchup.  Then, the crowd popped as "Ironman" by Black Sabbath blasted through the loudspeakers and The Acolytes made their way out to the ring.  Snow and Blackman attacked The Acolytes before the bell.  Snow and Blackman worked over The Acolytes for a few moments until Faarooq and Bradshaw came back and cleared the ring of Snow then focused on Blackman.  Bradshaw left the ring as Faarooq worked over Blackman.  The match cotninued back and forth for a few minutes with mainly brawling.  The ending would see Al Snow hit a superkick on Faarooq then went for an asai moonsault but Faarooq caught Snow and drove him down with the Dominator.  Faarooq covered Snow and Bradshaw nailed Blackman with the Clothesline From Hell as Faarooq got the three count.  The Acolytes are victorious...

We headed to the WPW Control Center with Scott Hudson.  Scott Hudson had the complete card for WPW Power Struggle from MSG on January 6th, 2000 barring any changes in the next week.  Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka will take on T&A in a No Disqualifications Match.  The Unholy Alliance will face off against The Acolytes inside of a steel cage.  Sting will get Eddy Guerrero in a grudge match.  The Hardy Boyz defend the WPW World Tag Team Titles against Juventud Guerrera and Papi Chulo in a Ladder Match, Booker T defends the WPW Intercontinental Title against Kidman, Chris Jericho will take on Kurt Angle in a Number One Contenders Match, we will go live to Calgary Alberta Canada to see Chris Benoit against Ken Shamrock in a Dungeon Match, Mick Foley and Ric Flair will battle for control of WPW, and Triple H will defend the WPW World Heavyweight Title against Goldberg.  Scott Hudson welcomed in The Unholy Alliance and Sinister Minister to talk about their Steel Cage match with The Acolytes.  Sinister Minister did most of the talking in his unique verbage.  Minister said that Whipwreck and Tajiri have come out of obscurity and done the unthinkable, taken The Acolytes to the limit.  Minister said that the final battle of this war will be inside of an unforgiving steel cage.  Minister said this isn't one of those cage escape type matches, it'll be pinfalls or submissions.  Minister stated that Mikey and Tajiri are lethal and deadly, an Unholy Alliance that cannot be stopped.  Minister said that after they dismantle and destroy The Acolytes the next step is the World Tag Team Titles...

Main Event: Albert v. Masato Tanaka - Falls Count Anywhere.  "Shock" by Fear Factory blared over the PA as Albert came out to the ring alone in street clothes.  Then, "D A N G U N" sounded as Masato Tanaka headed out for this Falls Count Anywhere match.  Tanaka and Albert started out in the ring with Tanaka taking control of the match.  Albert soon headed to the outside and rammed Tanaka into the ringpost.  Albert worked over Tanaka on the outside.  The two brawled into the crowd a little bit then back into the ring, out of the ring, up the entrance aisle then backstage.  Albert and Tanaka traded weapon shots backstage and near falls.  Albert was in control and brought Tanaka back through the curtain and went for an Albert Bomb on the stage but Tanaka countered it with a kick down low.  Tanaka then went through the curtain and came back out with a table.  Tanaka set up the table then went back to Albert but Albert nailed Tanaka then drilled him with the Albert Bomb on the ramp!  ONE! Afterwards, Test ran out with a chair and smoked Tanaka in the head knocking him down.  Test dragged Tanaka into the ring and hit a diving powerbomb.  Test went up top for the Flying Elbow Drop and nailed it.  Mike Awesome charged into the ring and traded fists with Test until Albert grabbed a chair and came in from behind nailing Awesome.  Test got his chair and the two nailed Awesome in the head with both chairs knocking him down and out!  T&A have laid out Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka!

We then would look ahead to tommorow night on WPW Sunday Night, the final hype for WPW Power Struggle.  From what we understand all the key players involved in Power Struggle will be in the house and a part of WPW Sunday Night.  After two weeks apart, Ric Flair and Mick Foley will both be in the building.  The only matches known are The Unholy Alliance against T&A, Matt Hardy versus Papi Chulo and Jeff Hardy against Juventud Guerrera.  That's tommorow night on the New Year's Eve edition of WPW Sunday Night...

WPW Sunday Night on ESPN2 - December 31 / 2000

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

"Spit It Out" by Slipknot played in the background as the WPW Sunday Night on ESPN2 graphic comes up on the screen then fades away but not completely as a fast paced montage of WPW action including; Masato Tanaka hitting the Roaring Elbow on Mike Awesome, Al Snow smashing away at Sting's arm with a chair, Booker T drilling Kurt Angle with a Neckwrecker, The Acolytes putting Jeff Hardy through a table, the LWO beating down an opponent, Ken Shamrock with the Ankle Lock on Triple H, Mike Awesome with an Over-The-Top-Rope Awesome Bomb, Kidman pinning Ric Flair, Sting hitting the Scorpion Death Drop on Al Snow, Kurt Angle with all his gold, Chris Benoit raising the King Of Kings trophy, The Hardy Boyz with the Twist Of Fate and Swanton Bomb, Triple H hitting the Pedigree on Goldberg, Chris Jericho hitting a Lionsault on Goldberg, Goldberg spearing Jericho, Mick Foley hitting Goldberg in the head with a chair and much, much more.  The WPW Sunday Night on ESPN2 logo fades back into full then explodes...

  'Sprach Zarathustra...'

The crowd was up on their feet as the WPW Commissioner, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair stepped through the curtain.  Flair walked into the ring and took a microphone...

Ric Flair:  "WHOOOOOO!  As much as it pained me to sit at home last week.  Mick Foley came out here and proved me right.  Mick Foley came out here and screwed some people over.  Mick Foley came out here and sent me a message by making some matches.  Well, Mick Foley let me respond to your message with this, pal.  Tonight, in the Main Event, we're going to have ourselves a one on one matchup with 'The Olympic Gold Medalist' Kurt Angle going against the challenger for the World Heavyweight Title at Power Struggle, 'Da Man' ... GOLDBERG!  How's that for a message, Foley?  How's that?  HOW IS THAT?! That is how I will run this company when you are sitting at home on your ass.  WHOOOO!"

"Welcome To The Fold" by Filter blared over the PA as Mick Foley stepped through the curtain and walked right into the ring taking a microphone...

Ric Flair:  "You're real tough with that restraining order, aren't ya, Foley?  Mick ... Foley ... What do you want you worthless scumbag?"

Mick Foley:  "You want to display power?"

Ric Flair:  "I think I just did..."

Mick Foley:  "Well I'll show you that I have exactly the same amount of power that you do so in this match tonight with Kurt Angle against Goldberg, there will be a special guest referee and he is the World Heavyweight Champion, TRIPLE H!"

Ric Flair:  "That's just like you so I'll add a special guest enforcer just to make sure that Triple H doesn't mess around and his name is "Y2J" Chris Jericho, WHOOOOOO!"

Mick Foley:  "..."

Ric Flair:  "Shut up, punk, I ain't done.  Don't think that because you made Triple H a referee that he gets the night off, pal.  No way.  Tonight, Triple H and Ken Shamrock face Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit in tag team action, WHOOOOOOO!  Now you can talk, jackass."

Mick Foley:  "Last week, when you were sitting on your ass in Charlotte I bet you liked it when Booker T retained the WPW Intercontinental Championship thanks to Y2J?  I betcha liked that?"

Ric Flair:  "Yeah, that was great..."

Mick Foley:  "Well I'm going to reward Booker T's efforts tonight and give him a little tune-up match for Power Struggle against THE ACOLYTES!  Whooo that, Nature Boy."

Ric Flair:  "Ah, haha, Foley, that's a good one, I gotta hand it to you but as it looks right now there's one spot left open on tonight's card and since Booker T is wrestling a tune-up match tonight against The Acolytes then I think it'd only be fair if his opponent for Power Struggle, that little runt, punk, crap on my shoe loser, Kidman has one as well and tonight, Kidman will get a tune-up match against MIKE AWESOME and MASATO TANAKA!  WHOOOOOOOO!"

Mick Foley:  "Ric Flair, I hope you enjoyed booking some matches because this is the last time that you will ever have that type of power around here because in six days, your ass ... no, no, no ... your power is mine!"

Ric Flair:  "Well isn't that something?  Mick Foley, in Madison Square Garden where Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, Pedro Morales, Buddy Rogers, Andre The Giant, all built their legends, you and I will walk that aisle one time and one of us will walk out with all the power and the other will go home a loser and with the grace of the good lord, Ric Flair is not a loser and next week on this very program, Ric Flair will be in charge, WHOOOOOOO!  Mick Foley, I will make you bleed, I will make you sweat and then when it's all said and done you will cry because I will have your company, WHOOOOOO!"

'Sprach Zarathustra' sounded as Ric Flair left Mick Foley in the ring.  We went to the announcers table with Scott Hudson and Jerry Lawler here on the eve of 2001 and one week away from Power Struggle.  Tonight on the show we'll see Matt Hardy against Papi Chulo, Jeff Hardy versus Juventud Guerrera, The Unholy Alliance versus T&A, Booker T against The Acolytes, Triple H & Ken Shamrock versus Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit, Kidman against Masato Tanaka & Mike Awesome.  In the Main Event with Triple H as referee and Chris Jericho as ringside enforcer it will be Goldberg and Kurt Angle one-on-one.  All that and more here tonight on WPW Sunday Night...

Opening Match: Papi Chulo v. Matt Hardy.  "La Raza" hit as Papi Chulo of the Latino World Order made his way out to the ring first.  Then, "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit brought one-half of the WPW World Tag Team Champions, Matt Hardy to the ring.  These two mens respective teams will meet at WPW Power Struggle in a Ladder Match.  A back and forth match with Hardy trying to ground Chulo and keep him out of the air.  The ending would see Chulo hit a frankensteiner on Hardy then nailed a standing moonsault for two.  Chulo took Hardy up top and went up for a frankensteiner but Matt held onto the ropes.  Matt dove off with a crossbody but Papi ducked.  Matt rolled out to the floor in pain and Papi drilled him with a running twisting plancha!  Papi soon rolled Matt into the ring and went up top for the Moonsault.  Papi flew off but Matt rolled out of the way!  Matt then nailed the Twist Of Fate for the one ... two ... THREE!  Matt Hardy takes the win over Papi Chulo!

Afterwards, the announcers cut backstage where Eddy Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero Jr. rushed into a dressing room and attacked Sting.  Guerrero grabbed a TV monitor and nailed Sting in the head laying him out.  The LWO quickly left the dressing room as WPW officials arrived on the scene.

"INVASION..." hit as Goldberg headed out to the ring in street clothes and took a microphone...

Goldberg:  "Triple H, your days as World Heavyweight Champion are running out and at Power Struggle, I wrestle in MSG for the first time and I end your Championship reign.  Tonight, Kurt Angle, Olympic jackass, you have the unlucky task of stepping into the ring with Goldberg.  Triple H as referee?  Chris Jericho as enforcer?  I don't give a damn because after I run over you with a spear and drive you through that canvas with the Jackhammer, you can count to three hundred because your ass will be knocked out.  As for last week, Triple H you chose to use a sledgehammer and I admit you knocked me out but from the looks of it you couldn't get the job done because I'm here no worse for the wear but you?  It speaks volumes about the fear that you have that you need a sledgehammer to beat me.  Come Power Struggle, there will be no sledgehammers but one thing that will happen is that history will repeat itself and like July 1st, 2000 at WPW Battle Ground, I will take your World Heavyweight Title because YOU'RE NEXT!"

  'ONE! TWO! ZIS ON?!'

The WPW World Heavyweight Champion, 'The Game' Triple H emerged from the entrance with a microphone...

Triple H:  "Goldberg, for a guy that always claims to do his talking in the ring, you've sure got a lot to say.  You're right, I didn't get the job done last week but I had no intentions of finishing you off.  I want you at Power Struggle, Goldberg.  I want to beat your ass all through Madison Square Gardens, I want to spill your blood all over New York City.  I don't need a sledgehammer to beat you but knocking your ass out with one?  That was for fun.  The fact of the matter is Goldberg, you got a fluke victory over me before but that will not happen a second time because at Power Struggle, I will expose you for the fraud that you are.  You can't go toe-to-toe with The Game in Madison Square Gardens.  I'm sure that you'll try but I will show the world that while you are good, you are simply not on my level because I am the Game and I am that damn good.  As for tonight goes, I promise you, I give you my word that I will be a fair and impartial referee and I will show no bias towards my fellow Elite member, Kurt Angle.  Yeah .. right.  Tonight, Goldberg, get ready because much like Power Struggle it will be GAME OVER for you!"

Match #2: Juventud Guerrera v. Jeff Hardy.  "La Raza" hit as Juventud Guerrera made his way out to the ring for our second 'preview' match of sorts for Power Struggle.  "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit blasted through the loudspeakers as 1/2 of WPW World Tag Team Champions, Jeff Hardy headed out.  Earlier, Matt Hardy beat Papi Chulo.  Eddy Guerrero would soon swagger out to ringside and watch the match.  Juvy and Jeff Hardy went all out with the high flying, daredevil lucha style action in this match.  The ending would see Jeff go for a ropeflip moonsault but Eddy pulled Juvy out of the way.  Juvy then nailed a springboard dropkick on Hardy.  STING then ran out to ringside and started pounding on Eddy, clotheslining him into the crowd then going after him.  Juvy went for a running power bomb but Jeff dropped out and nailed a fisherman buster on Guerrera.  Jeff then headed up top for the Swanton Bomb but Guerrera rolled out of the ring.  Jeff then dove onto Guerrera on the outside but Juvy moved.  Juvy quickly rolled Jeff into the ring and drilled him with a Juvy Driver for the one-two-three!  Juventud Guerrera picks up the win over Jeff Hardy!

WINNER: Juventud Guerrera in 5:54.

-Michael Cole was with "Y2J" Chris Jericho...

Chris Jericho:  "Mitchell Cole, tonight Y2J teams with Chris Benoit against Triple H and Ken Shamrock and I will be victorious but from there my night's not over because Ric Flair made me special guest enforcer in tonight's Main Event with Kirk Angel against Goldberg and Triple H as guest referee.  Trip, if you have any intentions on screwing with this match then forget about it because Kirk Angel if you're going to beat Goldberg then you're going to have to do it all on your own, jerky but here's hoping that you do because at Power Struggle it'll make Y2J look that much better when I give you the beating of your life that you will never eh...eh...EVER forget a-gain!"

Match #3: T&A v. The Unholy Alliance.  "Shock" by Fear Factory blasted through the loudspeakers as Trish Stratus led her team of T&A, Test and Albert out to the ring.  Then, "Bombtrack" by Rage Against The Machine blared over the PA as Sinister Minister brought Tajiri and Mikey Whipwreck, The Unholy Alliance to the ring.  T&A will face Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka at Power Struggle in a No DQ Match while The Unholy Alliance will face The Acolytes inside of a Steel Cage match.  This match ended up turning out into an all out brawl with Albert putting Mikey Whipwreck through a table with an Albert Bomb.  Tajiri spat mist into the eyes of Test then drilled him with some kicks.  The Acolytes hit the ring and started to double team on Tajiri.  Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka wasted no time coming out to brawl with T&A.  These eight men slugged it out for several moments until WPW officials ran out to break it all up.

-Michael Cole got some comments from Booker T...

Booker T:  "Tonight, Mick Foley wants to put Booker T against The Acolytes in a Handicap Match, two of my bros.  Mick Foley, you playa hatin' son of a bitch, back me up against a wall and I'll come out swingin', sucka.  One against two?  Do I think I can win?  I have no idea but one things for sure that if The Acolytes don't bring their A-game they're gonna be in for a long night.  As for Power Struggle goes, Kidman, sucka, I hope Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka don't break yo neck because I'm gonna wreck it, now can you dig it?"

Stevie Ray:  "First off guys, props on the new office.  Down to business, that fruit booty Mick Foley went and put you two in a Handicap Match against my brotha, Booker T.  The four of us are all drinkin' buddies, the world knows that so lemme ask you, cause suckas gots to know, what're your feelings about this match?"

Bradshaw:  "We think it sucks but that ain't gonna change the fact that we're the two best ass kickers in WPW..."

Faarooq:  "Friend or no friend, in that ring we've got no friends so Booker T, brotha, bell to bell, we're gonna have to tear you apart."

Bradshaw:  "In this match more then ever, don't take this ass whippin' personally."

Match #4: Booker T v. The Acolytes - Handicap Match.  "One More Road" by DMX blared over the PA as the WPW Intercontinental Champion, Booker T made his way out to the ring first.  Then, "Ironman" by Black Sabbath blasted throught the speakers as The Acolytes came down to the ring.  Booker T put up a good hard fight against The Acolytes but the advantage that Faarooq and Bradshaw had of having someone to tag in was just too much.  The ending would see Bradshaw go for the Clothesline From Hell on Booker T but Booker T ducked and nailed Faarooq off the apron with an elbow then drilled Bradshaw with a Harlem Sidekick.  Booker T hit a scissor kick then signalled for the Neckwrecker but Kidman ran out to ringside.  Booker T setup Bradshaw but Faarooq came in and nailed Booker from behind.  The Acolytes then drilled Booker T with the Stuff Powerbomb for the one-two-three!

'Y2J' Chris Jericho headed out to the ring first then "Surfacing" by Slipknot brought his partner, 'The Crippler' Chris Benoit out to the ring.  "ONE! TWO! ZIS ON?!" sounded as the WPW World Heavyweight Champion, 'The Game' Triple H and 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock of The Elite made their way out to the ring for this tag team contest.  This was a solid tag team contest between four of the top wrestlers in WPW.  The closing moments of the match would see Triple H and Chris Benoit going at it.  Benoit hit a german suplex on Triple H then went for the second but Triple H hit some elbows then setup Benoit for the Pedigree but Benoit countered it with a slingshot and Triple H nailed the referee.  Benoit nailed Triple H with a running lariat.  Shamrock came in and nailed Benoit from behind.  Triple H rolled out of the ring.  Chris Jericho came in and hit a faceslam on Shamrock then went for the Lionsault but Triple H tripped up Jericho and pulled him out of the ring.  Triple H sent Jericho into the crowd.  Benoit got up and hit a belly-to-back suplex on Shamrock.  Triple H went under the ring and got a sledgehammer!  Triple H entered the ring and nailed Benoit in the back of the head!  Triple H quickly discarded of the evidence as Shamrock put Benoit in the Ankle Lock.  The referee checked Benoit's arm three times then called for the bell.  Triple H and Ken Shamrock have stolen a win over Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho!

-Michael Cole got some comments from Kidman...

Kidman:  "Ric Flair thinks he's a real funny guy, doesn't he?  He loves to stack the deck against me just because I forced his ass into a long overdue retirement.  Flair, at Power Struggle, I'll be watching.  As for tonight goes, Mike Awesome?  Masato Tanaka?  Handicap Match?  They're the ones that're handicapped because I'm gonna leave you both down for the count."

"My Hero" by Foo Fighters sounded as Kurt Angle emerged from the entrance for our Main Event but Angle had a microphone in hand...

Kurt Angle:  "I'd like to start off by apoligizing to all my fans across the nation for the actions of one Chris Jericho.  Last week, Jericho cost me a match against Booker T for the Intercontinental Title.  Tonight, Ric Flair thought it'd be funny if he put an Olympic Gold Medalist in the ring against Goldberg.  Goldberg, you may be tough, you may be dangerous, you may be intimidating but I ask, where are your gold medals?  That's right, you don't have any!  You don't have any gold except for in your stupid name.  So Goldberg, if that is even your name, tonight you're next, it's true! IT'S TRUE!  Oh and one more thing, thankfully our beloved owner Mick Foley has taken steps to improve the poor officiating here in WPW by naming the most upstanding citizen that I have ever met, Triple H, as special guest referee tonight and that my friends is TRUE!"

Main Event: Kurt Angle v. Goldberg.  "INVASION" then hit as Goldberg made his entrance.  Angle backed out to the outside away from Goldberg.  "ONE! TWO! ZIS ON?!" sounded as the special guest referee, Triple H made his way into the ring.  Then, "Break Down The Walls" sounded as the special guest enforcer, Chris Jericho came down to ringside and forced Angle into the ring.  The intimidation from Jericho on the outside forced Triple H to call it down the middle for the most part but Triple H's count for Goldberg seemed quite a bit slower then for Angle.  Angle more then held his own with Goldberg in this one hitting some of his trademark suplexes but Angle couldn't match Goldberg's power.  The closing moments of the match would see Goldberg go for a superkick but Angle moved.  Angle then tried the Angleplex but Goldberg dropped down and threw Angle with a fallaway slam.  Goldberg lined up Angle and drilled him with the SPEAR~!  Goldberg picked up Angle and nailed the Jackhammer!  Goldberg covered and Triple H instead stomped on Goldberg's head.  Triple H drove a knee into the back of Goldberg's head.  Chris Jericho came into the ring and peppered Triple H with right hands until MICK FOLEY came in with a chair and nailed Jericho knocking him out.  RIC FLAIR ran out but Foley quickly reminded him that he couldn't touch him.  Foley and Triple H taunted Flair.  Goldberg would then get up and SPEAR Triple H!  Ken Shamrock and Kidman hit the ring and jumped Goldberg along with Kurt Angle and soon Triple H.  The Elite pummeled down Goldberg until Chris Jericho pulled Angle out of the ring.  Chris Benoit ran out and pulled Shamrock out of the ring then Booker T came out and went to work on Kidman.  Goldberg got up and knocked Triple H out of the ring with a clothesline then went after him.  Ric Flair stepped into the ring as Mick Foley waved the restraining order in his face.  Flair backed Foley into the corner with a dead stare.  Flair then pulled back to punch and Foley covered up.  Flair instead let out a "WHOOOOOO!" into Foley's face and an embarrassed Foley threatened Flair.  The two trash talked back and forth as the show came to a close!  Tune in this Saturday for WPW's biggest Pay-Per-View event EVER!  WPW POWER STRUGGLE!
