Last week on WPW Sunday Night; 'The Elite' gave an interview in full force to open the show.  T&A beat The Unholy Alliance.  Masato Tanaka beat Al Snow then Steve Blackman turned on Masato Tanaka to re-join Al Snow.  The F.B.I. of Guido Maritato and Tony Mamaluke debuted in a loss to Juventud Guerrera and Papi Chulo of the LWO.  Sting challenged Kidman then destroyed Kid Kash as an example.  Jung Dragons got another big win over Too Cool.  The Hardy Boyz wanted challengers and got some in the form of a brawl with T&A and The Unholy Alliance.  Booker T got a win over Eddy Guerrero then Guerrero issued a challenge to Booker T and The Acolytes for a Six Man at Battle Ground, which was accepted.  Mike Awesome laid out Ken Shamrock during an I-C Title Match between Kurt Angle and Shamrock.  Awesome explained his actions as payback for King Of Kings.  In the Main Event, Chris Jericho faced Chris Benoit in a Non-Title match and it was a great match ending with Foley distracting the referee while Triple H laid out Benoit for Jericho to steal the win over the 2000 King Of Kings.  Tonight we continue to move forward into WPW Battle Ground, Goldberg's still missing, The Elite is still controlling the WPW, who will step up this week to try and break down The Elite?

"Spit It Out" by Slipknot played in the background as the WPW Sunday Night on ESPN2 graphic comes up on the screen then fades away but not completely as a fast paced montage of WPW action including; Masato Tanaka hitting the Roaring Elbow on Mike Awesome, Al Snow smashing away at Sting's arm with a chair, Booker T drilling Kurt Angle with a Neckwrecker, The Acolytes putting Jeff Hardy through a table, the LWO beating down an opponent, Ken Shamrock with the Ankle Lock on Triple H, Mike Awesome with an Over-The-Top-Rope Awesome Bomb, Kidman pinning Ric Flair, Sting hitting the Scorpion Death Drop on Al Snow, Kurt Angle with all his gold, Chris Benoit raising the King Of Kings trophy, The Hardy Boyz with the Twist Of Fate and Swanton Bomb, Triple H hitting the Pedigree on Goldberg, Chris Jericho hitting a Lionsault on Goldberg, Goldberg spearing Jericho, Mick Foley hitting Goldberg in the head with a chair and much, much more.  The WPW Sunday Night on ESPN2 logo fades back into full then explodes...

We would pan across the crowd as fireworks went off that then we went to Scott Hudson and Jerry "The King" Lawler at ringside.  Hudson announced the big Main Event for tonight as the WPW World Heavyweight Champion, "Y2J" Chris Jericho will take on STING in a Non-Title Match.  Also tonight, the Jung Dragons against The F.B.I., Masato Tanaka faces Steve Blackman, The Unholy Alliance take on T&A, Scottie Too Hottie faces Kaz Hayashi, the WPW World Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz defend against Juventud Guerrera and Papi Chulo, Eddy Guerrero battles Bradshaw, plus more...

Opening Match: Jung Dragons v. The F.B.I.  "Somebody Someone" by KoRn blared over the loudspeakers as the Jung Dragons' Jamie-San and Yung Yang made their way out to the ring.  Then, "Stayin' Alive [Remix]" by N-Trance brought out The Full Blooded Italians' Guido Maritato and Tony Mamaluke to the ring.  This tag team match would feature a lot of great and innovate high flying maneuvers.  The end would come when Yang hit a series of palm thrusts on Tony Mamlauke then went up top for a Flying Crossbody but Mamaluke countered it with a dropkick then crawled over to tag in Guido.  Yang was trying to tag in Jamie-San but Guido came over and flung Jamie off the apron into the guardrail.  Yang tried a spin kick on Guido but Guido ducked then locked up Yang and drilled him with the Kiss Of Death!  Guido makes the cover on Yang for the one-two-three!  The F.B.I. have defeated the Jung Dragons here in tag team action!

WINNERS: The F.B.I. in 6:31.

Rating: ** 1/2

"My Hero" by Foo Fighters sounded as the WPW Intercontinental Champion, Kurt Angle emerged from the entrance with a microphone...

Kurt Angle:  "Ladies and gentlemen, your Olympic Hero and Intercontinental Champion has arrived!  From the day I stepped into the WPW and defeated Sting to when I put out Booker T for the Intercontinental Title, I haven't seen or heard anything as ludicrous as Chris Benoit's shot at Intercontinental gold.  Chris Benoit, what makes you think you deserve a title shot?  Sure, you won the King Of Kings Tournament but that was only because your Olympic Hero was not involved, a ludicrous judgement in it's own right.  Chris Benoit, I've heard Scott Hudson call you the greatest technical wrestler in the sport today and maybe you are really good but you're not an Olympic Gold Medalist and you're NOT in the same caliber as Kurt Angle.  Benoit, I see no reason in giving you a title shot..."

"Surfacing" by Slipknot blasted through the loudspeakers and cut off Kurt Angle as "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit walked out onto the stage with a microphone...

Chris Benoit:  "Kurt Angle, Kurt Angle, Kurt Angle, I think I can speak for these people when I ask you to please shut your mouth.  Kurt Angle, all you do is talk.  All I hear about is your gold medals.  Well guess what, Kurt?  This isn't the Olympics, this isn't amateur wrestling, this is WORLD PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING and when you step through those ropes, you step into my domain, you step into The Crippler's ring where you and I will meet at Battle Ground.  You don't think I'm a worthy contender?  Well, the Commissioner thinks I'm a worthy contender and I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in this building that doesn't think I'm a worthy contender but whether you like it or not, at Battle Ground, that Intercontinental Title will be on the line and unlike with Booker T, you're not going to get away that easy.  If you want to remain Intercontinental Champion then you're going to have to prove to the world that you can beat The Crippler.  It's as easy as one-two-three, it's that easy, Kurt but then again, Crippler Crossface, your neck is snapped, your career is over at the hands of The Crippler, it's that easy, Kurt..."

Kurt Angle:  "Chris Benoit, being the true fighting American Hero that I am, I cannot for the life of me figure out why you fans cheer for a CANADIAN in Chris Benoit over an AMERICAN HERO in myself..."

Chris Benoit:  "They don't boo you because your American, Kurt, they boo you because you're a jackass..."

Kurt Angle:  "THAT'S IT, BENOIT!  Tonight, go grab yourself a tag team partner and meet myself and a partner of my choosing tonight in this very ring!  Tonight, you will go down at the hands of the Intercontinental Champion and that is true!"

Match #2: Masato Tanaka v. Steve Blackman.  'D A N G U N' brought Masato Tanaka out to the ring first.  Then, "Eye For An Eye" by Soulfly blared over the PA as "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman stalked his way out to the ring.  It was just last week that Blackman appeared to save Tanaka from a post-match attack by Al Snow but instead, Blackman stuck it to Tanaka and walked out with Snow, the same man that put Blackman on the shelf.  Blackman has refused comment on the issue.  Tanaka was extra fired up in this one and it showed as he and Blackman fought back and forth for several minutes of hard hitting action.  The end would see Blackman hit a clothesline on Tanaka.   Blackman waited on Tanaka to get up then went for the Jumping Front Kick but Tanaka ducked out of the way then cranked Blackman with the ROARING ELBOW for the one...two...THREE!  Masato Tanaka has gained revenge over Steve Blackman.

WINNER: Masato Tanaka in 3:12.

Rating: * 3/4

Afterwards, Al Snow hit the ring with Blackman's kendo stick and laid out Masato Tanaka with several shots on various body parts.  Blackman would then take a microphone...

Steve Blackman:  "It's been asked, why are you aligning yourself with the man that put you out of commission?  Well the fact of the matter is I've had the opportunity to see the transformation of Al Snow.  Snow is more focused, more violent, and more lethal then at anypoint in his career.  Wins?  Losses?  What're are they?  Nothing to us.  Look at Masato Tanaka and tell me who's more dangerous?"

We then went backstage to the locker room area where Sinister Minister stood in front of The Unholy Alliance of Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri...

Sinister Minister:  "Once every twenty two seconds a man sins as he fantasizes about a gratifiying pleasure and for many men, Trish Stratus, you are the cause of their sin but not Tajiri and not Whipwreck because during the match tonight against Test and Albert, they will sin over and over again but the gratifying pleasure will not be the thought of you, Trish, it will be the action of them kicking the hell out of Test and Albert..."

Match #3: The Unholy Alliance v. T&A.  "Bombtrack" by Rage Against The Machine blasted over the loudspeakers as The Unholy Alliance of Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri soon emerged from the entrance and made their way out to the ring with Sinister Minister close behind.  Then, "Shock" by Fear Factory blared over the PA as Trish Stratus led T&A out to the ring.  Last week, T&A defeated The Unholy Alliance then later in the night the two teams brawled along with the World Tag Team Champions.  This week a rematch between T&A and The Unholy Alliance.  This would be another good match between the two teams.  During the match, the WPW World Tag Team Champions, The Hardy Boyz walked out to the stage and watched the match.  The end would see Albert nailed a big boot on Tajiri then tag in Test.  Albert rammed Tajiri's head into the foot on Test.  Test then picked up Tajiri with a power bomb but Tajiri dropped out and right kicked Test's knee then left kicked the other.  Tajiri kicked twice more then tagged in Whipwreck.  The two tied Test to the tree of woe and Tajiri nailed a baseball slide dropkick into Test's face.  Albert came in and nailed them with a double clothesline.  Albert grabbed Whipwreck and drilled him with a double hand chokeslam.  Tajiri kicked Albert in the back a few times then tried to kick him in the back of the head but Albert ducked and pulled himself up with the ropes.  Tajiri ran at him with a clothesline which took both men to the outside.  Meanwhile, Test headed up top for the Flying Elbowdrop on Whipwreck but on the outside, Sinister Minister was eyeing down Trish Stratus and advancing towards her which distracted Test allowing Whipwreck to climb up top and deliever a WHIPPERSNAPPER!  Whipwreck covers Test for the one-two-three!  The Unholy Alliance has scored the win over T&A!

WINNERS: The Unholy Alliance in 4:49.

Rating: ** 1/2

Afterwards, The Hardy Boyz charged into the ring and started brawling with The Unholy Alliance.  Soon, T&A joined in and the three teams had to again be broken up by WPW officials...

Backstage, Michael Cole got some comments from Sting...

Sting:  "Tonight, Chris Jericho, not the exact member of the so-called 'Elite' that I wanted but I'll take it nonetheless.  Chris Jericho, much like last week against Chris Benoit you don't have the guts to put the World Heavyweight Title on the line.  As for Kidman, I don't care what or who I have to go through but sooner or later you will have to face the Stinger and you will not survive but tonight, Y2Joke it's SHOWTIME!"

Match #4: Scottie Too Hottie v. Kaz Hayashi.  "Rump Shaker" by WnE brought Scottie Too Hottie of Too Cool out to the ring along with Grandmaster Sexay to watch his back.  Then, "Somebody Someone" by KoRn brought the Jung Dragons' Kaz Hayashi out to the ring.  This is a continuation of the mini-feud between the Jung Dragons and Too Cool and it would be a really good and high flying match between Scottie and Kaz Hayashi.  The closing moments of the match would see Scottie hit a double underhook suplex on Kaz.  Scottie then sent Kaz into the ropes and tried a clothesline but Kaz ducked it then came off with a spinning heel kick on Scottie.  Kaz then went out to the apron for his Slingshot DDT but Scottie turned it into a powerslam!  Scottie then got that look on his face as he got ready to deliver the WORM!  W ... O ... R ... GRANDMASTER SEXAY IS IN THE RING!  SUPERKICK!  SUPERKICK ON SCOTTIE TOO HOTTIE!  WHAT THE HELL?!  Grandmaster Sexay just interuppted the Worm with a Superkick on his partner and now he's walking out of the ring to the back!  The referee doesn't know what to make of this and neither do the fans.  Kaz Hayashi is up and out on the apron.  Kaz waits on Scottie and SLINGSHOT DDT!  ONE! TWO! THREE!  Kaz has taken the win over Scottie Too Hottie but more importantly it appears as if TOO COOL HAS SPLIT UP!

WINNER: Kaz Hayashi in 5:22.

Rating: ***

Afterwards, Scottie Too Hottie got his wits together and was irate storming to the back looking for Grandmaster Sexay...

Match #5: The Hardy Boyz (c) v. Latino World Order - WPW World Tag Team Titles.  "La Raza" sounded over the PA as 'The Juice' Juventud Guerrera and 'Pimp Daddy' Papi Chulo of the Latino World Order made their way out to the ring for our next matchup.  Then, "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit blasted through the loudspeakers as the WPW World Tag Team Champions, The Hardy Boyz came out to the ring.  This would be an absolutely awesome match, probably one of the best matches ever on WPW Sunday Night.  These two teams went all out with the daredevil moves, the only complaint that it was too short.  The closing moments of the match would see The Hardy Boyz hit a flying splash, flying legdrop combonation on Juventud Guerrera.  That brought Eddy Guerrero down the ramp but Guerrero was chased by Booker T and the two brawled on the outside.  Papi Chulo went and joined the brawl and double teamed on Booker T but unfortunatly that left Juvy all alone with Matt and Jeff Hardy.  Matt went for the Twist Of Fate but Juvy counters it with a northern lights suplex ... ONE! TWO! THR...NO!  Juvy picked up Matt and JUVY DRIVER!  Juvy hit the Juvy Driver!  Juvy makes the cover for the one ... two ... THR ... JEFF BREAKS IT UP!  Jeff pounded on Juvy and drilled him with a DDT then went out to the apron.  Matt crawled over and made the tag.  Matt then dove onto Papi, Eddy and The Acolytes with an Asai Moonsault!  Jeff hit a snap suplex on Juvy then tried a ropeflip moonsault but Juvy got the knees up.  Juvy then headed up top for the 450 Splash but Hardy rolled out of the way.  Jeff quickly went up top and nailed the SWANTON BOMB!  ONE! TWO! THREE!  The Hardy Boyz retain the World Tag Team Titles!  What a great match!

WINNERS: The Hardy Boyz in 5:54.

Rating: *** 3/4

(The Hardy Boyz retained the WPW World Tag Team Titles.)

"Welcome To The Fold" by Filter blared over the PA speakers as the Owner of the WPW, Mick Foley made his way out to the ring...

Mick Foley:  "Shut that music off!  Tonight some business needs to be taken care off in the form of Sting.  Sting, you've had your face paint taken away and you said you were a new man but I still see the same old Sting.  The Sting that just isn't quite good enough and tonight Y2J is going to prove that you just quite aren't good enough to be considered for 'The Elite'.  As for Chris Benoit, Benoit, last week I think you found out first hand what happens when you cross this boss and when you climb to high on the ladder in WPW.  You stepped up to 'The Elite', Benoit and you got knocked down and out.  Now many people are wondering what the Main Event for Battle Ground will be and as of this moment, it is still undetermined.  As the Owner, I am going to try and determine a worthy contender for Chris Jericho's World Heavyweight Title and as of now, I can't find one but I will, trust me and if there's one man that you can put your trust in, it's Mick Foley.  Now have a nice day!"

Match #6: Bradshaw v. Eddy Guerrero.  "Ironman" by Black Sabbath blared over the PA as Bradshaw made his way out to the ring for our next match here on WPW Sunday Night.  Then, "La Raza" hit as the leader of the LWO, Eddy Guerrero made his way out to the ring.  Guerrero had to keep it quick in this match to offset the overwhelming power of Bradshaw.  Bradshaw would mow through Guerrero at points of this match just killing him with power moves while Guerrero seemed to frustrate Bradshaw at points with his quickness.  The end would come when Guerrero went for a Brain Buster on Bradshaw but Bradshaw countered it with a suplex of his own.  Bradshaw waited on Guerrero to get up and went for the Clothesline From Hell but Guerrero rolled underneath then chopblocked Bradshaw and rolled him up with a handfull of tights for the one...two...three!  Eddy Guerrero has defeated Bradshaw here on Sunday Night.

WINNER: Eddy Guerrero in 3:51.

Rating: * 1/2

After the match, Guerrero wisely backed out of the ring not wanting anymore of Bradshaw but out of the entrance walked Faarooq and Booker T.  Guerrero backed into the them and they grabbed Guerrero and threw him into the ring and began the assault until Juvy and Papi hit the ring with chairs and laid out The Acolytes and Booker T.

Match #7: Kurt Angle & ??? v. Chris Benoit & ???.  "My Hero" by Foo Fighters came over the PA as the WPW I-C Champion, 'The Olympic Gold Medalist' Kurt Angle emerged from the entrance and made his way into the ring for this tag team bout.  Then, "AWESOME" BY RECKLESS FORTUNE blared over the loudspeakers as MIKE AWESOME walked out as the partner for Kurt Angle!  Angle has done himself well and grabbed Mike Awesome as a partner for this match.  Then, "Surfacing" by Slipknot brought "The Crippler" Chris Benoit out.  Benoit walked down to the ring then slid into the ring going after Angle.  Benoit worked over Angle until Awesome jumped him and the two beat down on Benoit two on one until "STRESS" BY GODSMACK blared over the PA and Ken Shamrock raced from the back and evened up the odds against Mike Awesome and Kurt Angle.  The four men brawled for a little bit until it settled down into a tag team matchup.  This would be a really good tag team match as we've seen a lot of good wrestling here tonight on WPW Sunday Night.  The closing moments of this match would see Benoit and Angle going at it.  Benoit hit chops on Angle then a german suplex bridge that Awesome broke up.  Shamrock came in and threw Awesome out of the ring.  Shamrock went outside and brawled with Awesome.  Benoit would hit a power bomb on Angle then go up to the top rope for the Swandive Headbutt.  Shamrock rammed Awesome's head into the guardrail but it caused Benoit to lose his balance.  Kurt Angle quickly went up top and hit a belly-to-belly superplex on Benoit then the ANGLEPLEX!  Angle then used a magistral cradle for the one...two...three!  Kurt Angle has pinned Chris Benoit!

WINNERS: Kurt Angle and Mike Awesome in 5:05.

Rating: ***

Afterwards, Angle continued to put the boots to Benoit while Awesome would hit Shamrock with a crushing lariat on the outside then roll him into the ring and hit the Running Awesome Bomb.  Awesome stalked his way to the back while Angle celebrated.

Main Event: WPW World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho v. Sting - Non-Title.  "Seek And Destroy" blared over the loudspeakers as Sting made his way out to the ring first for our Main Event.  Then, "Break Down The Walls" followed some pyro as the WPW World Heavyweight Champion, "Y2J" Chris Jericho came out along with the Owner of the WPW, Mick Foley.  Sting and Jericho locked up with Sting sending Jericho into the ropes but Jericho came off with a spinning leg lariat.  Jericho played to the crowd mocking Sting then stomped and chopped Sting.  Sting reversed the tide throwing rights and chops at Jericho then slamming him down to the canvas.  The match went back and forth with brawling and technical wrestling.  The closing moments of the match would see Sting hit a gorilla press slam on Jericho.  Sting then went up top and came off with a flying splash but Jericho rolled out of the way.  Jericho then drilled Sting with a bulldog and went for the Walls Of Jericho but Sting kicked Jericho off!  Sting sent Jericho into the corner and nailed a Stinger Splash!  Mick Foley got worried and distracted the referee as Sting hit a second Stinger Splash.  TRIPLE H ran out with a chair and as Sting went for the Scorpion Death Drop, Triple H swung at Sting but Sting saw it at the last second and moved causing Triple H to knock out Jericho with the chair.  Sting then kicked Triple H and threw him out of the ring.  Sting would grab the referee and cover Jericho...
