-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==- WPW King Of Kings - September 2 / 2000 -==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==- "Shut 'Em
Down [Remix]" by Onyx f. Big Pun & Noreaga played in the background of
our opening montage that chronicled the events leading up to the nights
matchup. We started with the feud
between The Acolytes and The Hardy Boyz.
These two teams have traded the belts in their two matches in the past
six months now The Acolytes walk in the champions and defend against The Hardy
Boyz in the rubber match but the match will be complete carnage in the form of
Double Tables. Last month at
International Incident, Kurt Angle defeated Booker T for the WPW
Intercontinental Title and ever since then Booker T has been hunting Angle for
a rematch and will get one tonight. That
brings us to the basis of the Pay-Per-View the King Of Kings Tournament
itself. 32 men started out over a month
ago now we're down to the elite eight; Chris Benoit, Kidman, Triple H, Sting,
Mike Awesome, Masato Tanaka, Ken Shamrock, and Eddy Guerrero. One of these men must endure three matches
tonight for the right to be crowned the King Of Kings. Then in our Main Event, the WPW World Heavyweight
Champion, "Y2J" Chris Jericho defends the belt against the man he
defeated for the title, Goldberg with all contracted WPW wrestlers banned from
interfering as they face termination.
Goldberg feels and rightfully so that Jericho robbed him of the title
with help from Mike Awesome. Goldberg
and Jericho have made each others lives a living hell over the last month as the
tension has built and built and built.
Tonight, it will be one on one, Chris Jericho will have to shut up and
put up if he wants to retain his World Title over Goldberg tonight. Did Jericho really need the help from Mike
Awesome to beat Goldberg or can he do it on his own? Or can Goldberg recapture his gold? Find out all this tonight as WPW presents the
KING OF KINGS live on pay-per-view... We entered the
arena as fireworks went off and Scott Hudson and Jerry 'The King' Lawler
welcomed us to the show. Hudson and
Lawler quickly gave some predictions on the matches for the night then sent us
to the ring to kick off the evening... Opening Match: Chris Benoit v. Kidman - King Of Kings
Quarterfinal. "Surfacing" by
Slipknot blasted through the loudspeakers as 'The Crippler' Chris Benoit made

retired Ric Flair on his way out. Benoit
stepped right into Kidman's face and Kidman shoved Benoit. Benoit then rocked Kidman with a chop then a
right hand and another chop. Benoit
followed that up with a snap suplex on Kidman.
Benoit pulled Kidman up and drilled him with a high angle power bomb
that just killed Kidman. Benoit chose
not to make the cover and instead blew snot on Kidman and let out a 'Whooo' in
respect to his former mentor. Benoit
went back to work on Kidman with chops before Kidman went to the eyes of Benoit
then took control with some brawling.
Kidman then went for an inverted DDT but Benoit countered with some
elbows but Kidman returned fire with a dropkick. Kidman waited on Benoit to get up and hit a
spinning leg lariat. Kidman went to the
top rope and came off with a flying clothesline nailing Benoit. Kidman went for a cover but only got two. Kidman hit Benoit a few more times then

slingshot. Sting whipped Triple H across
the ring and hit a Stinger Splash then hit a second. Sting then went to whip Triple H across the
