WPW Road To WrestleWar

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

The show opened with a video package promo for 'WPW WrestleWar 2000'

then we went backstage where Michael Cole and Michael Hayes stood infront of a WrestleWar backdrop and a countdown clock appeared in the upper right hand corner showing us that it's just under 30 minutes until WrestleWar 2000 live on Pay-Per-View.  Cole said that in the next thirty minutes we will preview all the matches for WrestleWar 2000.  Hayes said in addition to that we'll see Crash Holly in action and Stevie Richards & The Blue Meanie take on The Mamalukes.  With that we started to preview our first matches...

BOOKER T vs. CHRIS CANDIDO

-This match was just added to the card after this past WPW Sunday Night

where Booker T accidently bumped into Tammy Lynn Sytch backstage.  During the Main Event, Chris Candido came out in a rage and broke a bottle over the head of Booker T.  Booker T has demanded to face Chris Candido tonight and will get his wish...

JEFF JARRETT vs. VAMPIRO

-We went back to the Sunday Night where Vampiro defeated Jeff Jarrett in the Intercontinental Title Tournament using Jarrett's own guitar against him.  Then, after Vampiro was defeated by Chris Jericho, Jeff Jarrett came out and broke the guitar over Vampiro's head.  Will "The Chosen One" come out on top or will "The Gothic Warrior" reign victorious?

3COUNT vs. RIKISHI & TOO COOL

-This feud began on the first ever WPW Sunday Night when Rikishi and Too Cool interrupted a 'performance' of 'Can't Get You Out Of My Heart' by 3Count.  Since then, the six men have been feuding and exchanging wins and loses.  Tonight, it's Six Man Tag Team Warfare as Evan Karagias, "Sugar" Shane Helms and "The Enigma" Shannon Moore of 3Count take on Scottie Too Hottie and Grandmaster Sexy of Too Cool and Rikishi...

We returned to Cole and Hayes as they gave some predictions on those

matches then said the next preview will be for one of the more anticipated matches on the show, Sting versus Diamond Dallas Page, which will be a FALLS-COUNT-ANYWHERE match.

STING vs. DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE

-Earlier in the day, Sting and Diamond Dallas Page agreed to make their

match a Falls-Count-Anywhere match.  This match came to be after Sting

tried to help DDP out in his match with Triple H but a miscommunication

ended with DDP dropping Sting with a Diamond Cutter.  It's been a war of words between the two since then between the two fan favorites.  An interesting and unpredictable matchup to say the least...

Michael Cole then sent us to the ring for action...

Opening Match: Neo v. Crash Holly.  Neo, a masked competitor from Mexico was already in the ring when we cut into the arena.  "Dirty Deeds" by AC/DC then started up over the loudspeakers and soon, Crash Holly, a self-proclaimed "Super Heavyweight" headed out to the ring with his scale in hand.  Before the match, Crash Holly would take the microphone and demand that Neo weigh-in and Holly said Neo was not up to Super Heavyweight qualifications but he'll still kick his ass anyways.  Neo would attack Crash and get some early offense until Crash came back.  This would be a surprisingly good match as Holly showed he's a really good wrestler.  The closing moments of the

match would see Crash go for a DDT but Neo countered it with a northern

lights suplex.  Neo went up to the top rope and came off with his Flying Splash but Crash moved.  Crash hit a backspin DDT on Neo then placed him on the top turnbuckle and hit the Crashcanrana.  Crash made the cover on Neo for the one-two-three.  Crash Holly picks up the win.

WINNER: Crash Holly in 6:10.

Rating: ** 1/4

We returned to Michael Cole and Michael Hayes, who chuckled that Crash Holly can move pretty well for someone 6'6" and 400 pounds.  Hayes would then send us to some more previews...

AL SNOW & STEVE BLACKMAN vs. ROAD DOGG & X-PAC

-The ongoing feud between The Four Horsemen and D-Generation X continues tonight as Al Snow and Steve Blackman take on Road Dogg and X-Pac.  During the I-C Title Tournament, Snow lost to X-Pac and Blackman lost to Road Dogg in typical DX fashion.  Then, Snow and Blackman got revenge in the World Tag Team Tournament defeating DX.  Tonight, the two teams collide again in what should be an intense matchup.

BILLY KIDMAN vs. KEN SHAMROCK

-This will be a No Time Limit match between the two men that was originally just slated as a rematch from their 15 Minute Draw in the WPW Intercontinental Title Tournament but after two weeks ago on Sunday Night when Kidman accidently nailed Shamrock with a chair which led to Triple H beating Shamrock, this has become personal.  Shamrock and Kidman brawled to a double countout in the Triangle Tag Team Elimination Match on the last Sunday Night and a good match can be expected here tonight as we'll see who is the better wrestler.

We went back to Coles and Hayes, who were really looking forward to

Kidman against Shamrock.  We then went to the ring for another match...

Match #2: Stevie Richards & The Blue Meanie v. The Mamalukes.  "Blue" by Eifel 65 brought "Dancin'" Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie out to the ring first.  Then, "Millennium" by Killing Joke blared over the PA as Disco Inferno led The Mamalukes out to the ring.  This match was good for what it was as Stevie and Meanie actually showed some skill and lasted longer then they did with The Acolytes.  However, in the end, Big Vito would hit his Swinging Spike DDT on The Blue Meanie then Johnny the Bull came off that top rope with his Spinning Flying Legdrop to put Meanie down for the count.  The Mamalukes are victorious.

WINNERS: The Mamalukes in 6:28.

Rating: 1/4*

We went back to Cole and Hayes again who would then lead us into previews for two of the tournament finals...

THE HARDY BOYZ vs. THE ACOLYTES

-The winners of this match will be crowned the first ever WPW World Tag

Team Champions.  The Hardy Boyz got to the Finals with wins over The

Mamalukes and 3Count while The Acolytes beat Stevie Richards & The Blue

Meanie and Al Snow & Steve Blackman to get to the finals.  The Hardy Boyz will take a lot of risks in this one and will have to, to offset the power of The Acolytes.  The new champions will have to earn the titles in this one...

EDDY GUERRERO vs. CHRIS JERICHO

-This match is the finals of a 16 Man Tournament for the vacant WPW

Intercontinental Title.  Both men have endured a lot to make it to this

point and the winner will rightfully be called a champion.  Guerrero defeated Chris Candido, Booker T, and Rikishi to make it to the finals while Chris Jericho defeated Norman Smiley, Road Dogg and Vampiro.  Will it be Y2J's night or will the Latino Heat prevail?

We headed back to Michael Cole and Michael Hayes for the final time as they hyped up the Main Event and sent us to a preview for the match, after that the countdown will be over...

TRIPLE H vs. RIC FLAIR

-For the WPW World Heavyweight Title, that is what this one was supposed to be all about and what it is all about but Triple H made things personal when he punked out David Flair.  Both men's wins to get here were marred with contreversay as Triple H beat Diamond Dallas Page and Ric Flair defeated Sting.  After weeks of back and forth confrontations, finally Triple H and Ric Flair will go at it, one-on-one for the title.  Triple H has DX to back him up but Flair has the Four Horsemen to offset that threat which will make it an even playing field.

ALL THAT AND MORE IN JUST A FEW SECONDS ON WPW WRESTLEWAR 2000! ORDER NOW!

WPW WrestleWar 2000! - May 6 / 2000

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

We opened right up the offices of the aPa where Bradshaw and Faarooq were enjoying a casual game of poker when there was a knock at the door and in entered Road Dogg and X-Pac of D-Generation X.  "You again?" piped Faarooq and X-Pac said that they've got the green to which Bradshaw responded, "It's gonna cost ya, A LOT!"  From there we cut to a montage set to Filter’s "Welcome to the Fold" that showed clips hyping up the action then a big "WPW WrestleWar 2000" logo came onto the screen and we entered through the second '0' into the arena, live on pay-per-view, as fireworks blasted and the announcing crew welcomed us to the show and quickly sent us to the ring to kick things off...

Opening Match: Booker T v. Chris Candido.  "Up In Here" by DMX blared over the loudspeakers as Booker T made his way out to the ring for the first match here on WrestleWar.  Then, "Back In Black" by AC/DC sounded as Tammy Lynn Sytch led "No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido out to the ring to take on Booker T.  The match started out with Booker T nailing Candido then Candido kicking Booker then chopping him down a few times then did a Fargo Strut.  Candido raked the face of Booker T then whipped him into the corner and charged in but Booker T flipped over with a sunset flip out of the corner for a two count.  Booker raised the roof then sent Candido into the ropes and kicked Candido in the stomach then hit a scissor kick on Candido.  Booker T made the cover for a two count.  Booker T picked up Candido but Candido nailed Booker in the stomach then nailed a DDT for a near fall.  Candido picked up Booker T and sent him into the ropes but Booker T came off with a flying forearm for a two count.  Booker T pounded on Candido then used a double leg takedown.  Tammy Lynn Sytch came up on the apron and diverted the attention of Booker T and Candido came from behind and rolled up Booker for the one...two...NO!  This match wore on back and forth between the two men.  The closing moments of the match would

see Candido take down Booker T with a running clothesline.  Candido then placed Booker T on the top turnbuckle then tried a belly-to-back suplex but Booker T countered it by falling on top of Candido for the one, two, thr...NO!  Booker T would spinarooni up then attempt a Harlem Sidekick but Candido ducked but Booker T would switch directions and nail a Harlem Sidekick on Candido.  Booker T headed up to the top rope as Candido staggered to his feet.  Booker T came off and hit the Missile Dropkick for the one, two, and THREE!  Booker T is your winner!

WINNER: Booker T in 6:45.

Rating: ** 1/4

Match #2: Jeff Jarrett v. Vampiro.  "Take It" by Insane Clown Posse started up over the PA system as Vampiro headed out to the ring for our next matchup here at WrestleWar 2000.  Then, "Cowboy" by Kid Rock sounded and the fans jeered as Jeff Jarrett made his way out to the ring with his guitar in hand.  Jarrett went into the ring and raised his arms then went to go to the other side of the ring and bumped right into Vampiro who stood face to face with Jarrett.  Jarrett backed away and put his guitar in the corner and took off his glasses then went back at Vampiro.  Jarrett hit Vampiro with a double axehandle then stomped on Vampiro.  Jarrett posed and Vampiro came from behind and hit a clothesline on Jarrett.  Jarrett got up and Vampiro nailed Jarrett with a superkick for a two count.  Jarrett begged off and Vampiro kicked Jarrett then tried to send him into the ropes but Jarrett reversed it and Vampiro came off with a spinning elbowsmash. Vampiro then tried an armlock leglock submission but Jarrett grabbed the ropes.  Jarrett then got up and kicked Vampiro the stomach and hit an inverted atomic drop and a dropkick.  Vampiro got up and Jarrett hit a swinging neckbreaker.  Jarrett then went for a piledriver but Vampiro countered it with a slingshot.  Jarrett hit the turnbuckle and staggered around.  Vampiro kicked him in the midsection then used a jack-knife power bomb on Jarrett for the one...two...NO!  This match wore on for a few minutes back and forth until Vampiro connected with a spinning front kick then signalled for the Nail in the Coffin but Jarrett raked the eyes in mid move and dropped down.  Jarrett then hit the Stroke on Vampiro for the one...two...THREE!  Jeff Jarrett is your winner!

WINNER: Jeff Jarrett in 6:20.

Rating: **

Afterwards, Jarrett grabbed his guitar and as Vampiro got up Jarrett

blasted him with the guitar leaving Vampiro laying...

Match #3: 3Count v. Rikishi & Too Cool.  The instrumental music started

as 3Count; Evan Karagias, Shane Helms and Shannon Moore headed out to

the ring, put down their green circles and began their PPV performance

of 'Can't Get You Out Of My Heart'.  After about a minute, "This Is How

We Do It" by Montel Jordan piped through the loudspeakers as Too Cool and Rikishi came out of the entrance with Too Cool working up the crowd.  They made their way into the ring for this six man tag team war!  Shane Helms started out for 3Count against Grandmaster Sexy.  The two locked up and exchanged punches with Grandmaster getting the better of Helms until Shannon Moore came in to make it two-on-one but Scottie Too Hottie ran in and nailed Moore.  Too Cool then nailed a double dropkick on Shane Helms then Scottie left the ring.  Grandmaster sent Helms into the corner but Helms sprung up and came off with a moonsault bodyblock for a two count.  Helms then used a german suplex on Grandmaster for a near fall.  Helms then tried a frankensteiner but Sexy countered it with a lyger bomb for the one, two, kickout!  Sexy snap mare'd Helms over then tagged in Rikishi.  Helms ran and tagged in Shannon Moore.  The two double teamed Rikishi and took him down with a double spinning elbowsmash then Helms left and Moore went for a ropeflip moonsault.  Rikishi kicked out with authority.  Shannon tried to whip Rikishi across the ring but Rikishi reversed it then charged in

and hit a big backsplash avalanche in the corner squashing Shannon.  Rikishi made the cover but Evan Karagias came in to break it up.  This exciting match continued on for a few more minutes.  The closing moments of the match would see Grandmaster Sexy and Shannon Moore going at it.  They hit eachother with a double clothesline then both inched over to their corners.  Sexy tagged in Rikishi and Shannon tagged in Evan Karagias. Evan backed off and Shane Helms came in but Scottie Too Hottie ran at Helms and Helms backdropped him out.  Helms then hit a slingshot somersault plancha on Scottie.  That diverted Rikishi and allowed Evan Karagias to take him down with a missile dropkick.  Grandmaster Sexy came over to jump onto Helms but Shannon Moore shoved him off the turnbuckle to the floor.  Moore then connected with a tope con hilo onto Grandmaster!  Evan Karagias signalled for his Tidal Wave and went up but Rikishi moved out of the way.  Rikishi got up and would grab Karagias and spike him with the Rikishi Driver for the one...two...THREE!  Rikishi and Too Cool take the win!

We headed backstage where Michael Cole was with Diamond Dallas Page, Cole asked DDP for some comments about his Falls Count Anywhere Match with Sting...

Diamond Dallas Page:  "Listen Cole, whether it be a Falls Count Anywhere match or not, I am going to whip that face painting jackoff, Sting, all over this damn arena.  Whatever the match is, it doesn't matter because I've worked harder then anyone to get here and I did it by fighting so Sting, tonight you're in for the fight of your career and you're ... gonna ... get ... BANGED!"

X-Pac would start things off against Al Snow in this tag team match.  They started off with a brawling seqeuence before X-Pac hit a spinning heel kick on Snow.  Snow got up and X-Pac tried another spinning heel kick but Snow stepped back.  Snow dropped a leg on X-Pac then sent him into the ropes and knocked him down with a shoulderblock, bounced off the ropes as X-Pac got up and hit a crossbody for a one count.  Steve Blackman came into the ring and would nail and jumping shoulderblock on X-Pac then Snow came off the top with a moonsault and held on for the pin but Road Dogg came in and broke up the pin.  Both Blackman and Road Dogg left the ring.  Snow would try a savate kick but X-Pac countered it with a legsweep on Snow.  X-Pac then would bounce off the ropes and hit a sharp legdrop then a second.  X-Pac did a few crotch chops and told the crowd to "SUCK IT!" X-Pac went back to work on Snow whipping him into the ropes but Snow reversed it and caught X-Pac in a tilt-a-whirl slam.  Snow then made the tag to Blackman.  The two would try a double superkick but X-Pac moved then made the tag to the Road Dogg.  Road Dogg came in and went at it with Blackman.  That's when the crowd's attention turned to the entrance

as The Acolytes walked down to the ring putting on their black gloves.

The Acolytes would just stand outside of the ring watching the match, have they been paid off by DX?  The match wore on back and forth between the two teams until X-Pac went for a german suplex on Snow but Snow countered it with a go-behind then X-Pac hit a vicious back kick down low on Snow. Snow backed off and X-Pac would try a frankensteiner but Snow held on going for power bomb but they were close to the ropes and X-Pac frankensteiner'ed Snow over the top and landed on the ring apron.  X-Pac rolled back into the ring and complained to the ref.  That's when The Acolytes helped up Snow put then Bradshaw took his head off with a Clothesline From Hell.  Faarooq rolled him into the ring and The Acolytes left.  X-Pac pulled Snow to his feet and drilled him with the X-Factor.  Steve Blackman came in but Road Dogg tied him up as the referee counted ... in WPW.  "ONE! TWO! ZIS ON?" was heard as the lights dimmed and out of

the darkness came, 'The Game' Triple H.  Triple H raised his head then

walked down to the ring pooring water over his head.  Triple H stood on

the ring ropes and spat water into the crowd raising his hand in the

air to a chorus of jeers.  Triple H walked around the ring in anticipation as his music died out and "Sprach Zarathustra" began over the loudspeakers and the fans again rose to their feet and this time cheered as 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair walked out of the entrance with his game face on and his robe on.  Once in the ring, Flair removed the robe.  Head Referee, Nick Patrick held the WPW World Heavyweight Title belt in the air then explained to both men that he's going to let them fight but any outside interference that he sees will result in a DQ, he'll be leiniant on the countouts but if one man is down on the outside, he must count them out.  He told both men to go to their corners and when the bell rings, it's on.  The bell rang and the two circled eachother with Flair stretching a bit then Triple H trash talking Flair.  Flair responded with a "WHOOOOOO!" that echooed through

the building.  The two then locked up with Triple H pushing Flair off then going for a forearm smash but Flair blocked it then laid into The Game with chops as the crowd, "WHOOO"'ed with each of them.  Flair went for a whip into the ropes but Triple H reversed it and Flair flipped over and staggered on the apron and HHH came in but Flair knocked him down with a clothesline.  Flair came back into the ring and punched HHH a few times until Triple H fired back and the crowd chanted, "ASSHOLE!" at him.  Triple H told them to shut up and took down Flair with a headlock takedown.  HHH then went for a knee drop but Flair moved.  Flair got up and pounded on Triple H as Helmsley begged off.  Flair then would hit a swinging neckbreaker on HHH.  Flair then dropped a knee onto the face of The Game.  Flair then tried an inverted atomic drop but Triple H raked the eyes of Flair and took him down with a clothesline.  Triple H then tried a piledriver but Flair countered it with a backdrop then clotheslined Helmsley out of the ring.  Flair went to the outside and the two brawled on the outside.  At one point, Flair would smash Triple H's head into a monitor on the announcers table splitting Triple H open.  About midway through the match, Faarooq and Bradshaw of the aPa walked out to ringside with their gloves on.  The

Acolytes stood by aisle way watching the entrance.  Who bought them?  Flair or Triple H?  This hellacious battle over the WPW World Heavyweight Title wore on back and forth for quite some time between the two men as they went all out.  The closing moments of the match would see Ric Flair kick the legs out from under a bloody Triple H.  Flair signalled to the crowd then locked Triple H in the Figure Four Leg Lock!!!  Triple H agonized in pain as he reached for the ropes.  After quite some time in the hold, Triple H finally rolled over and grabbed the ropes!  Flair got up first  and went up to the top rope.  Flair came off with a double axehandle but Triple H countered it with a fist to the midsection!  Triple H then hooked up Flair for the Pedigree! NO! Reversal and SLINGSHOT by Flair and Triple H crushes Nick Patrick in the corner!  Flair rolls up Triple H! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! There's no referee!  X-PAC AND ROAD DOGG HAVE HIT THE RING!  Road Dogg and X-Pac nailed Flair then, here comes Snow and Blackman for the save! NO! THE ACOLYTES STOP SNOW AND BLACKMAN!  Faarooq and Bradshaw

took out Snow and Blackman!  They've been paid off by Triple H.  Here comes Ken Shamrock and he's brawling with The Acolytes in the aisle way.  BILLY KIDMAN races by with a steel chair in hand and rolls into the ring and swings at Road Dogg, who backs up and quickly gets out of the ring.  X-Pac tries to spin kick Kidman but Kidman ducks and swings at X-Pac but Road Dogg pulls X-Pac out of the ring and the way.  Kidman, Kidman, KIDMAN! NO! KIDMAN PLASTERED FLAIR IN THE HEAD WITH THE CHAIR!  WHY? Triple H is up and he Pedigree's Flair!  Kidman revives the referee...
