=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= NGW Ring Wars - December 9 / 2002 =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= GM Place in Vancouver, BC =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= "American
Psycho" by Treble Charger sounded in the background of a montage of stills
from last night's Winter Wars. Rob Van
Dam looked to have retained the World Championship but Paul Heyman put Scott
Steiner's foot on the ropes. RVD's
attention was diverted allowing Steiner to get him in the Steiner
Recliner. Van Dam refused to give up, he
refused to submit but one man can only take so much pain and soon Rob Van Dam
faded away and Scott Steiner is the new World Champion...
"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring
Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation
Wrestling superstars such as; Vampiro, Tommy Dreamer, Randy Orton, The Dudley
Boyz, John Cena, Taz, Jeff Jarrett, Raven, Kane, Eddy Guerrero, Chris Jericho,
Brock Lesnar, Booker T, Scott Steiner, Rob Van Dam and more. This is New Generation Wrestling and this is
RING WARS... Inside GM Place,
Joey Styles and Don Callis welcomed everyone to the show. Tonight; the new U.S. Heavyweight Champion,
Ken Shamrock defends against Saturn.
'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett goes one-on-one with Brock Lesnar. Raven and Vampiro must face Tommy Dreamer and
Stevie Richards. ['Oh! Oh! Shawn!'] The NGW
Commissioner, Shawn Michaels headed out of the entrance to kick off tonight's
show. Michaels took to the ring where he
got a microphone... MICHAELS:
"We're north of the border and we're coming off a hell of a night
last night at Winter Wars. Here in NGW,
we're always moving forward and in the not to distant future our ONE YEAR
anniversary is coming up. It's hard to
believe it's been a year since we got this rolling and NGW is rolling. We're working on something big to be
announced sometime next year but that's not why I came out here. I came out here tonight to announce the
number one contender to the new NGW World Champion, Scott Steiner. This man will challenge Big Poppa Pump in a
few weeks at Initial Assault and this man is .... BOOKER T!" ["Can You Dig It? SUCKA!"] Booker T stepped
through the curtain and headed down into the ring. Booker T is coming off a very hard fought win
over Eddy Guerrero last night at Winter Wars... BOOKER T:
"What's up Vancouver?! Some
people may know, some may not know but Booker T is a Texas native. I think it's time we put the Harlem
references to bed because that was in the past.
Booker T is a Houston, Texas man and that's how it stands from now
on. So when Shawn Michaels says that I'm
gonna be challenging Scott Steiner for the World Championship at Initial
Assault IN TEXAS, all Booker T can say is I CAN DIG THAT, SUCKAAAAA! A lot of people are worried about Scott
Steiner going on another long reign of terror but I'm here to say that this
reign will be short lived. Less then a
month, infact, cause at Initial Assault, Booker T is gonna be the World Champion!" ["Walk" by Pantera] 'The Whole F'n
Show' Rob Van Dam headed out to the ring to a huge reaction from the
crowd. The former World Champion took a
microphone... VAN DAM:
"With all due respect to Booker T, there's one man that should be
first in line for a shot at Scott Steiner and that man is ROB VAN DAM! Booker T, we've fought the Dangerous Alliance
together but this is business so I gotta say what I gotta say. Not only did I not give up last night ... it
was just a few weeks ago that I beat you so I think that puts the Whole F'n
Show right at the head of the f'n line for a shot at the F'N TITLE!" MICHAELS:
"Look Rob, I already made my decision. I made my decision before you're match with
Scott Steiner last night. Regardless of
the outcome, I decided that Booker T deserved a shot at the World Champion at
Initial Assault. You make a good point
but I'm not gonna take away a title shot from Booker T." ["R-E-Y!"] The NGW World
Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Misterio Jr. walked out onto the stage with a
microphone... MISTERIO:
"Hey guys ... I can clear up your little problem here because
Shawn, there was a precedant set. We had
a real similar situation with the World Cruiserweight Title and I don't see why
you can't solve it the same way. Make it
a Three Way Dance ... Scott Steiner defending against Rob Van Dam and Booker
T. How about that?" MICHAELS:
"That's fine with me if it's fine with you two." VAN DAM:
"That's cool with RVD..." BOOKER T: "I
would've liked one on one but Van Dam, you deserve a rematch too so I can dig
that ... but dig this, you can come to the dance but Booker T will still be the
one leaving with the World Championship ... SUCKAAAAAAA!" With that it's
set ... Scott Steiner must defend the World Championship against Booker T and
Rob Van Dam in a Three Way Dance at Initial Assault... (1) James Maritado v. Devon Storm
"Broken" by 12 Stones blared over the speakers as James
Maritado headed out to the ring. Then,
"Terrible Lie" by Nine Inch Nails blasted over the speakers as
'Dangerous' Devon Storm made his way out along with Daffney. Storm had a slight limp in his walk after his
knee was assaulted by Jamie Knoble last night in the World Cruiserweight Title
match. Maritado is a submission
specialist of sorts and focused in on Storm's knee, wearing it down. The ending would see Maritado go for a
spinning toe hold but Storm rolled him up for two. Maritado went for a lariat but Storm ducked
and hit the Mind Bender for the one ... two ... THREE! Devon Storm, the former World Cruiserweight
Champion, gets back on the winning track over James Maritado despite his leg
being an easy target. WINNER: Devon Storm in 6:33. Rating: ** 3/4 We headed
backstage where the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner was pacing
around with Heyman trying to calm him down... STEINER: "Who
the hell does that little twirp think he is?
Now I'm gonna have to defend against not just Booker T or Rob Van Dam
but both of them? Misterio, just what
business is it of yours who gets the shot at the genetic freak? Huh?
HUH? You wanna get in my business
then get in my business in the ring.
Bring your Cruiserweight ass down to the ring later and I'll show you
what happens when you get in Big Poppa Pump's business.' (2) The Natural Ones v. Jung Dragons "Natural
One" by Folk Implosion blared over the speakers as The Natural Ones' Mike
Modest and Donovan Morgan headed out to the ring. Then, "I Don't Mind" by Drain STH
blared over the speakers as the Jung Dragons made their way out. Modest and Morgan have been a pleasant
addition to the tag team division and got a chance to shine here on Ring Wars
and shine they did in a real good match against Kaz and Yang, a solid team in
their own right. The ending would see
Modest hit his Reality Check (Fisherman Buster) on Yang for the one ... two ...
THR ... Kaz breaks it up! Morgan came in
but Kaz ducked a lariat and hit an inverted bulldog. Modest then dumped Kaz out of the ring. Yang headed to the top but Modest crotched
him. Modest headed to the top and hit a
Reality Check off the top for the one ... two ... THREE! The Natural Ones take the win! WINNERS: The Natural Ones in 5:22. Rating: *** We headed
backstage to see Shawn Michaels walking into a locker room where he found the
NGW World Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Misterio Jr. MICHAELS:
"Look Rey, Steiner's challenged you to a match tonight but you
don't have to go through with it. Nobody
is gonna think any less of you if you don't do it." MISTERIO:
"Don't worry, Shawn, I've got Steiner covered..." MICHAELS:
"Listen to me, Rey. I know
where you're coming from. For years
everybody told me I was too small, I couldn't hang with the big boys so I went
out of my way to take on the biggest and the baddest. Vader, Hall, Sid, Nash, Undertaker, I took
'em all on and I 'em all down but it left me with damn near crippled
back." MISTERIO: "So
you're saying if you could go back in time, you wouldn't have fought all those
big guys?" MICHAELS: "No
that's not what I'm saying, but..." MISTERIO:
"You were one of the main guys that opened the door for me so I'm
gonna go out there and I'm gonna take it to Scott Steiner. I don't how I'm gonna do it but I'm gonna do
it because I've got nothing to lose..." MICHAELS: "Except a few years off your career but
that's your choice. Its my choice to
make it so you've got everything to gain tonight cause I'm putting the World
Championship on the line..." MISTERIO: "No
Cruiserweight Champion has ever won the World Heavyweight Title in any
promotion ... until tonight." (3) Jeff Jarrett v. Brock Lesnar
"Cowboy" by Kid Rock blared over the speakers as 'The Chosen
One' Jeff Jarrett from the Dangerous Alliance headed out to the ring. Then, "Head Up" by Deftones blasted
over the speakers as Brock Lesnar made his way out to the ring. Jarrett was on the losing side of a tag team
match to Orton and Cena last night while Brock Lesnar won his match via
countout after Chris Jericho took the cheap way out and walked out on the
match. Jarrett ran into many of the same
troubles as Jericho did against Lesnar.
The ending would see Lesnar go for a spinning power bomb but Jarrett
went to the eyes and dropped out.
Jarrett kicked Lesnar and went for the Piledriver but Lesnar countered
it with a backdrop then a clothesline.
Lesnar picked up Jarrett and hit the Terminator for the one ... two ...
THREE! Brock Lesnar just keeps on
winning... WINNER: Brock Lesnar in 4:18. Rating: ** After the match,
Brock Lesnar grabbed a microphone.. LESNAR:
"Chris Jericho! You ran like
a coward last night, I'm not surprised.
You can't run forever and I want a rematch anywhere ... anytime!" We then cut to a
shot of Stevie Richards kicking a locker in frustration until Tommy Dreamer pulled
him away, trying to calm him down... STEVIE: "Who
the hell does Raven think he is?" DREAMER:
"Calm down, Stevie, you've gotta stay focused. No one ever said this was going to be quick
or easy. We've got Raven and Vampiro in
just a few minutes, get your head together, Stevie." (4) Raven & Vampiro v. Tommy Dreamer & Stevie
Richards "Come Out
And Play" by Offspring blared over the speakers as Raven and Vampiro
headed out to the ring for tag team action.
Then, "Man In The Box" by Alice In Chains blared over the
speakers as 'The Innovator Of Violence' Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards made
their way out to the ring. Last night at
Winter Wars, Raven, Vampiro and Saturn got the win over Dreamer, Richards and
Kane after Raven hit the Evenflow DDT on an unexpecting Tommy Dreamer for the
pin. The ending of this match would see
Richards hit a Stevie Bomb on Vampiro for the one ... two ... Raven breaks it
up! Dreamer came over and clotheslined
Raven out, taking both men to the outside.
Stevie went for a Stevie Kick but Vampiro ducked and hit a roundhouse
kick. Raven grabbed a chair on the
outside but the referee came out to stop him from hitting Dreamer ... WHAT THE
HELL?! Vampiro just threw a fireball
into Stevie Richards face! Richards is
screaming in pain! Vampiro went over and
covered Richards, the referee slid in and counted the one-two-three! That was uncalled for! WINNERS: Raven & Vampiro in 7:02. Rating: ** 1/2 After the match,
Raven nailed Dreamer with the chair on the outside. Kane rushed into the ring and grabbed
Vampiro. Raven came in and drilled Kane
in the back with the chair but Kane barely flinched. Raven and Vampiro fled the ring as EMTs
rushed out to aid to Stevie Richards as we cut right to break... We returned
outside the arena to a shot of Stevie Richards being loaded into an ambulance
with a towel over his face. Tommy
Dreamer, Kane and Shawn Michaels were looking on as the ambulance... KANE: "You
give me Vampiro next week..." MICHAELS:
"That's done, big man, that's worse punishment then a
suspension." DREAMER: "And
you give me Raven at Initial Assault one on one..." MICHAELS:
"You got it ... We can't have stuff like this going on around
here. Kane, you've got Vampiro next week
and Dreamer, you've got your match with Raven at Initial Assault." We went backstage
where The Coach got some comments from Randy Orton and John Cena about their
shot at the NGW World Tag Team Champions, The Dudley Boyz this Saturday Night
on RAGE... ORTON: "I
really don't know what brought us together other then the Dangerous
Alliance. We don't intend on being a tag
team but hell, I say we make the best of this and see if we can't win ourselves
the tag team titles." CENA: "I'll
tell you what brought us together ... It was Jeff Jarrett with that PILEDRIVER!
PILEDRIVER! PILEDRIVER! on Goldust on the concrete ... Ahhhhhh ... Jarrett and
Konnan, those two got knocked off last night and The Dudley Boyz will get
knocked off on RAGE! I WANT SOME
GOLD! You want some gold?" ORTON:
"Yeah..." CENA: "Then
let's get us some gold this Saturday." (5) Saturn v. Ken Shamrock (c) - NGW United States
Heavyweight Title "Beautiful
People" by Marilyn Manson blared over the speakers as The Flock's Saturn
made his way out to the ring. Then,
"I Will Be Heard" by Hatebreed blasted over the speakers as the new
NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' Ken
Shamrock headed out to the ring.
Shamrock defeated Taz last night at Winter Wars via pinfall to become
the 3rd U.S. Heavyweight Champion in NGW history. This would be a back and forth brawl between
Shamrock and Saturn with some submissions and suplexes mixed in, much like
Shamrock's match with Taz the previous night.
The ending would see Saturn lock Shamrock in the Rings Of Saturn! Shamrock writhed in pain and managed to make
the ropes. Saturn sent Shamrock into the
ropes and caught him with a powerslam.
Saturn then headed to the top and came off with a Bombs Away
Kneedrop! Saturn hits it but clutches
his ankle in pain! Saturn crawled over
and made the cover for the one ... two ... THR ... NO! NO! Shamrock gets the shoulder up! Saturn lifted up Shamrock for the Death

Taz hit the ring and attacked Shamrock from behind. Taz grabbed Shamrock in the Tazmission and
choked him out until Shamrock was left in a heap on the canvas. Taz picked up the microphone... TAZ:
"Consider that an invitation, brotha. An invitation to a rematch at Initial Assault
... Not just any match, brotha ... A SUBMISSION MATCH! I am Taz ... Master of the Tazmission ...
Beat me if you can ... SURVIVE IF I LET YOU!" We cut to a shot
of Rey Misterio Jr., the NGW World Cruiserweight Champion, walking out of his
dressing room. Is Rey Misterio Jr.
walking into the biggest upset win of his career? We then cut to a shot of the NGW World
Champion, Scott Steiner walking through the back. Or is he walking into the biggest mistake of
his life? The biggest mismatch in the
history of the NGW World Championship ... Scott Steiner defends against Rey
Misterio Jr ... NEXT! (Main Event) Rey Misterio Jr. v. Scott Steiner (c) - NGW
World Championship. And it is time
for our Main Event of the evening ... "R-E-Y!" blasted over the
speakers as the NGW World Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Misterio Jr. exploded out
of the entrance in a blaze of pyro.
Then, "I Need A Freak" by Too $hort blared over the speakers
as the neW NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner headed out to the
ring along with Trish. Steiner flexed
and commented that his bicep was bigger then Rey's head and he might be
right. Steiner held up his hand for a test
of strength. Rey came in then kicked
Steiner in the gut and hammered him with forearms. Rey's rocking Steiner with rights! Misterio tried to send Steiner into the ropes
but Steiner pulled him into a knee!
Steiner lifted up Misterio in a military press and pressed Rey a few
times over his head before dropping him to the canvas. Steiner did some push-ups and posed to the
crowd. Steiner lifted up Misterio in
another military press but Misterio dropped down and cradled up Steiner for a
quick two count! Rey went for a face
slam but Steiner grabbed him and hit a spinning belly-to-belly to regain
control. Steiner controlled the pace of
the match but Misterio just would not stay down! The fans were on the edge of their seat
seeing if Misterio could pull off the upset. The closing moments of the match
would see Steiner choke and stomp on Misterio.
Steiner picked up Rey and sent him into the ropes but Rey hit the
