NGW Ring Wars - September 16 / 2002

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

We opened up with with a short video package of stills from last night's NGW Revenge showing Scott Steiner's return as Booker T's tag team partner but it was all a setup as Steiner joined the Wolfpac.  Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho tore down the house over the World Championship.  It took a Van Daminator and a Van Terminator to put Chris Jericho down for the count...

"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation Wrestling superstars such as; Kane, Chris Kanyon, Randy Orton, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, Brock Lesnar, Eddy Guerrero, Vampiro, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner and more.  This is New Generation Wrestling and this is RING WARS...

We entered the arena with Joey Styles and Paul Heyman hyping up the night's show which will feature a rematch for the WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE as new champion, 'DANGEROUS' DEVON STORM defends against old champion, REY MISTERIO JR.  Stay tuned for that but first we got to the ring for the World Champion...

["Walk" by Pantera]

The NGW World Champion, 'The Whole F'n Show' Rob Van Dam headed out to the ring.  RVD was looking a little sore after last night but is always in good spririts.  Van Dam took the microphone...

VAN DAM:  "You know, last night was a great match, but would you expect anything less from R-V-D?  But that was las..."

["WAR MACHINE"]

The NGW U.S. Heavyweight Champion, 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz walked out of the entrance, without his belt, interupting Rob Van Dam.  Taz walked right into the ring and stood, looking at Van Dam.  Taz pulled the towel from over his head and threw it in Van Dam's face then started pounding Van Dam with stiff clubbing blows to the head.  Taz spins Van Dam around and TAZMISSION!  Van Dam was caught off guard and he's trapped!  Taz choked the life out of Van Dam then went out of the ring.  Why has Taz attacked Van Dam?  Taz went under the ring and grabbed a table, sliding it into the ring.  Taz came back in and threw Van Dam with a Hardway Tazplex straight onto his head!  Van Dam is out of it.  Taz set up the table then picked up Rob Van Dam ... TAZMISSION!  Taz locked him back in the Tazmi ... OH MY GOD! OH ... MY ... GOD!  TAZMISSION-PLEX THROUGH THE TABLE!  HOLY ****!  Rob Van Dam is crumpled on the mat.  Medics and officials are racing out. Taz just rolls his shoulders and walks out of the ring to the back.  We went quickly to a break.

We returned from the break to see a replay of Taz's unprovoked, vicious assault of the World Champion Rob Van Dam.  Taz ambushed Van Dam for no good reason, choked him out, dumped him on his head once then left him a crumpled mess with a Tazmission Plex through a table.  We returned live outside the arena to see medics carefully loading Van Dam into an ambulance.  He could have a broken neck and for what?  What is Taz's problem with Rob Van Dam?  We then cut to a shot of Taz walking right out of the arena during the break.  Styles tried to compose himself while Heyman was half concerned for Van Dam and half praising Taz.  Styles informed us that tonight 'The Prototype' John Cena will debut, Raven and Kane will face Randy Orton and Goldust in non-title action, Devon Storm defends against Rey Misterio Jr. and the Wolfpac is expected to be in the house...

(1) The Dudley Boyz v. Jung Dragons.

"Turn The Tables" by Saliva blasted over the speakers as The Dudley Boyz headed out to the ring.  Buh Buh Ray and D-Von were looking a little sore and a lot pissed off after not being able to take the World Tag Team Titles last night.  Then, "I Don't Mind" by Drain STH blared over the speakers as the Jung Dragons, Kaz Hayashi and Yang, made their way out to the ring.  The Jung Dragons were looking to use The Dudleyz rage against them and get an upset win.  The ending would see D-Von hit a side suplex on Yang then make the tag to Buh Buh.  Buh Buh slammed down Yang and D-Von went up top for the headbutt but Kaz came in and kicked Buh Buh in the back of the head.  Yang kipped up and crotched D-Von up top.  Yang and Kaz went up for double superplex but Buh Buh came over, grabbed Kaz and hit a super bomb!  D-Von shoved Yang down to the canvas.  D-Von got down and as Yang staggered up the The Dudleyz hit the 3D for the one ... two ... THREE!  The Dudley Boyz win but they don't look like they're gonna be satisfied until they've got the World Tag Team Titles.

WINNERS: The Dudley Boyz in 5:03.

The Coach was standing by backstage with the newest NGW superstar, 'The Prototype' John Cena for some comments before his debut match tonight...

CENA:  "All the hype surrounding my debut has been great.  It's flattering to think that a company like New Generation Wrestling, with the amount of great wrestlers that are here, have that much confidence in my ability.  Now a lot of people, they wanna be in that top spot so they can get all the perks that go with it.  I didn't come here for the money.  I came here to get to the top by being a better athlete then my opponent and being a better wrestler."

Eddy Guerrero walked up to Cena in street clothes...

COACH:  "Eddy Guerrero, what'd you want?  You don't have a match scheduled for tonight."

GUERRERO:  "That's right, man.  And what the hell is the deal with that?  You know the guy that just got sent to the hospital?  RVD?  The World Champion?  I've beat that punk a few times in the past few months, holmes.  So where's my title shot?  I don't even get a title shot, I get pushed aside.  Eddy Guerrero is pushed aside for the past month and for who?  For this guy?"

CENA:  "I didn't come here to listen to your problems."

GUERRERO:  "Orale, do you know who you're talking to, ese?  I hear you want to be the best wrestler in NGW?  You can't even lace my boots."

CENA:  "I got a match in just a few minutes but I'll face you anywhere, anytime and let's see what kind of a wrestler you really are."

GUERRERO:  "That sounds like a challenge, ese.  If it is, you can take your challenges somewhere else, man.  You gotta prove yourself before you can get in the ring with Eddy Guerrero."

Eddy Guerrero walked away while Cena just shook his head..

(2) Simon Diamond v. John Cena.

"Simon Says" by Drain STH blared over the speakers as Dawn Marie led Simon Diamond out to the ring for our next match.  Then, "More Human Than Human (NIN Remix)" by White Zombie blasted over the speakers as 'The Prototype' John Cena walked out to the ring, making his NGW debut.  After weeks of videos hyping him up, all John Cena wants is his chance to make a name for himself through his work.  Cena was in there against a ring veteran in Simon Diamond.  Cena showed great power and speed and the crowd really seemed to take to him.  The ending would see Cena climb up and punch away on Simon in the corner.  Simon walked out with Cena but Cena blocked an atomic drop, sent Simon into the corner and came in with a big splash.  Cena came in with another one but Simon moved and cradled up Cena with two feet on the ropes for the one! Two! NO! Cena kicked out!  Simon went for the Simonizer but Cena blocked it and hit a DDT for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Cena picked up Diamond and went for an irish whip but Simon reversed it.  Cena ran over Simon with a clothesline then picked him up and planted him with the Proto-Bomb for the one ... two ... THREE!  John Cena has arrived in NGW with an impressive win.

WINNER: John Cena in 4:43.

Rating: **

We headed out to the parking lot where a black limo pulled up and out stepped Konnan, Jeff Jarrett and Kevin Nash.  Nash was questioning Jarrett why Steiner didn't come with them.  Jarrett explained that Steiner gets a little carried away with his 'freaks' but he'll be here...

["Come Out And Play" by Offspring]

We returned to the ring as Raven, Kane, Chris Kanyon and 'Sick' Scott Vick all walked out of the entrance.  They headed down to the ring where Raven took the microphone...

RAVEN:  "Last night, people paid for the indignities that we have suffered. The Dudley Boyz felt the wrath of my retribution and Brock Lesnar felt Kane's wrath.  Why?  You ask.  Why must we leave such carnage?  For too long, we have all felt pain but now, others will feel OUR pain!  If you cut us, do we not bleed?  If you humor us, do we not laugh?  If you poison us, do we not die?  And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?  We had our revenge last night.  The Dudley Boyz were not only beaten but left in shards of their very own tables.  And then Brock Lesnar, the man the P.R. department decides to make into a monster, was brought down to size by the real monster around here, Kane.  Kane has been overlooked for too long.  Is it because he wears a mask?  He doesn't wear that mask because he cares what you think of him.  He wears it as a symbol.  A symbol of the countless years of torture he endured from people like all of you.  Brock Lesnar may be an animal but last night, he found out that in this jungle, Kane is king."

  Chris Kanyon grabbed a microphone...

KANYON:  "What about me?  What about Kanyon?  Didn't I do it last night, boss?  Not only did I beat that rookie, Randy Orton but I brought Saturn back!  I brought him back to the Flock!"

RAVEN:  "Where is he?  Where is Saturn?  If he's back in the Flock then why did he keep leaving through the crowd last night?"

["Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson]

Saturn walked out of the entrance in jeans and a sweat shirt, looking very grungy.  Saturn walked into the ring and took Kanyon's microphone...

SATURN:  "Raven, I'm here.  I wanted to wait and share my revelations with the entire world.  When you beat me, when you sent me into unemployment, it all became clear.  I am nothing without you, Raven.  All these fans, they didn't think twice about me when I was gone.  I made a mistake and I tried to be something I'm not.  I've seen the light and I need you Raven.  I need the Flock.  Raven, I pledge my allegiance not to the United States of America, I pledge it to you."

RAVEN:  "Saturn, that's what I've been waiting to hear for months.  Finally you have come around but how can I trust you?  How do I know you're not trying to screw me?"

SATURN:  "I'll do anything to prove myself."

RAVEN:  "You can start by wrestling on The Flock's behalf tonight against ... Brock Lesnar!"

  Kane grabs Saturn's mic...

KANE:  "I WANT LESNAR!"

RAVEN:  "In time, Kane, in time.  We've got a tag match tonight against Randy Orton and Goldust.  Saturn, you prove yourself tonight and you can return home to The Flock.  Quote the Raven, NEVERMORE!"

(3) Psicosis v. Low Ki'.

"Loco" by Coal Chamber blasted over the speakers as 'Nicho El Millionaro' Psicosis headed out to the ring.  Psicosis was on the winning side of last night's Lucha Libre tag team match but he can't be at 100% after the beating those four luchadores laid into each other last night.  Then, "Boom" by Soulfy blared over the speakers as Low Ki' made his way out to the ring.  Low Ki' is becoming quite popular with his unforgiving style in the ring and his unshakeable focus.  The ending would see Psicosis send Low Ki' into the ropes, hit a big back drop then a spinning leg lariat for two.  Psicosis sent Low Ki' into the corner and charged in but Low Ki backdropped Psicosis out to the apron.  Low Ki went for a kick to the head but Psicosis ducked and slammed Ki's head down to the mat.  Psicosis came in and went for a falcon arrow but Ki kicked him in the gut then went for a frankensteiner but Psicosis countered with a power bomb for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Psicosis slammed down Low Ki and headed up top ... Guillotine Legdrop!  No! Low Ki rolls out of the way, measures Psicosis and kicks him right in the head!  Psicosis is out!  Low Ki covers ... one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Psicosis got the shoulder up!  Low Ki picked up Psicosis for the Ki Krusher but Psicosis blocks it and falcon arrow!  ONE! TWO! THR! NO! Ki kicked out again!  Psicosis was frustrated and went for another falcon arrow but Low Ki blocks it and KI KRUSHER!  Low Ki covers ... one ... two ... THREE!  Big win for Low Ki' over Psicosis as he climbs near the top of the Cruiserweight Division.

WINNER: Low Ki' in 9:22.

Rating: *** 1/4

We headed backstage where Randy Orton and Goldust were shown talking about teaming up tonight...

GOLDUST:  "Look kid, I know all too well the pressure of having people compare you to your father.  It can really do a number on a person.  Look at me.  I mean you try being the son of the [goes into a Dusty voice]  AHHHMERICAN DWEEEM DUSSSTY RHODES!  Behbe, you try bein' the fruit of the those big loins, behbe.  You're like a bull in da woods out there when the Dweem is your daddy."

While Goldust was doing his impersonation, Dusty Rhodes had walked up behind Goldust.  Rhodes tapped his son on the shoulder.

GOLDUST:  "Well, well, well.  We meet again, father."

DUSTY:  "Dustin, behbe, I just came here tonight cause I'm so excited that you're back on TV if you know what I'm talkin' about.  You're back on primetime television, in color, behbe and you're not goin' around with bad intentions.  Dis thang right here tonight, dis tag team match, if you weeel, its gonna be a rag taggin' situation.  This Randy Orton right here, he's a diamond in the rough, behbe, I gurantee you're gonna be a big sucess, kid.  I can see you got the fire in your belly welly.  Let me ask you a question, Randy, are you goin' to the pay windah tonight?"

ORTON: "Uhh ... yes."

DUSTY:  "I said are you goin' to the pay windah tonight?!"

ORTON:  "YES!"

DUSTY:  "Then put ya dukes up and you two go take care of that devilish Raven and Kane.  Show 'em who bad now?  Who be bad now?

(4) Raven & Kane (c) v. Randy Orton & Goldust - Non-Title.

"Come Out And Play" by Offspring blared over the speakers as the NGW World Tag Team Champions, Raven and Kane headed out to the ring for non-title action.  Raven and Kane almost dropped the titles last night but Saturn's involvement combined with Kane's power kept the gold around their waist.  Then, "Here To Stay" by KoRn blared over the speakers as Randy Orton and Goldust made their way out to the ring.  The Big Dust's speech seemed to fire up Orton and Goldust and they took the fight to the champs.  The ending would see Orton and Raven trading punches.  Orton got the better then caught Raven in a powerslam but Kane broke up the count.  Orton tried to send Raven into the corner but Raven reversed it and made the tag to Kane.  Kane choked Orton in the corner then charged in but Orton moved then drilled Kane with a dropkick.  Orton quickly went up top and came off with the Frog Press but Kane caught him.  Goldust came in and chopblocked Kane's knees!  Orton fell on top for the one ... two ... NO!  Kane kicked out  Orton made the tag to Goldust.  Goldust drilled Kane with a bulldog.  Raven came in but Goldust caught him with a right hand then sent Raven into the corner.  Goldust set up Raven for a Shattered Dreams kick!  Goldust backed across the ring and went to run in but Kane stepped in front of him, grabbing Goldust by the throat and Choke Slam!  Kane covers, Raven ties up Orton, one ... two ... THREE!  Raven & Kane pick up another win.

WINNERS: Raven and Kane in 5:28.

Rating: *

We returned to ringside where we saw another replay of Taz putting Rob Van Dam through the table with the Tazmission-Plex.  Rob Van Dam was stretchered out and taken to a local hospital.  The doctors say his neck doesn't appear to be broken but Van Dam is currently undergoing a battery of tests and is in extreme pain.  Styles said that they'd try to get RVD via satellite next week...

We cut to a shot of Brock Lesnar walking through the halls looking more intense then ever.  Brock Lesnar faces Saturn, next...

(5) Brock Lesnar v. Saturn.

"Head Up" by Deftones blasted over the speakers as Brock Lesnar walked out to the ring, still steaming after what Kane did to him last night.  What Kane did would probably send a normal man to the hospital but all it seemed to do was make Brock angry.  "Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson blasted over the speakers as Saturn headed out to the ring.  Raven forced Saturn into this match to make him prove himself to The Flock.  Saturn tried to hit and move but soon fell prey to Lesnar's power.  Lesnar proceeded to beat the stuffing out of Saturn.  The ending would see Lesnar hit a gutwrench suplex and drop an elbow.  Lesnar dropped another elbow but Saturn moved.  Saturn connected with a savate kick then quickly headed up top and came off with a flying elbowdrop but Lesnar moved.  Lesnar picked up Saturn and hit the Terminator for the one ... two .... THREE!  Welcome back, Saturn.

WINNER: Brock Lesnar in 4:30.

Rating: * 3/4

After the match, Kane walked down to the ring.  Lesnar challenged him to come in.  Kane stepped over the top rope and the two monsters went face to face.  Lesnar drilled Kane with a right hand sending him staggering backwards.  Kane fired back.  Lesnar responded.  NGW officials and security flooded the ring to break these two monsters up before they destroy each other...

We cut out to the parking lot again where another black limousine had arrived and this time, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner stepped out.  Scott Steiner is back and in the building.  We should hear from the Wolfpac after our next match...

(6) Rey Misterio Jr. v. Devon Storm (c) - NGW World Cruiserweight Title.

"Ashes To Ashes" by Madd One blared over the speakers as Rey Misterio Jr. headed out to the ring.  Misterio found himself in an unfamiliar position, walking in for the first time as the challenger for the World Cruiserweight Title.  Then, "Terrible Lie" by Nine Inch Nails blasted over the speakers as Daffney brought out the NGW World Cruiserweight Champion, 'Dangerous' Devon Storm headed out to the ring.  Misterio gave Storm the shot last night, Storm took advantage and won the title and is returning the favor tonight by giving Misterio an immediate rematch.  The intensity was turned up another notch after last night's great match and tonight's was an even better match.  The closing moments of the match would see Storm send Misterio into the ropes but Rey hit a Misterio Bulldog!  Rey motioned to the crowd and headed out to the apron.  Rey came in with the Springboard Hurricanrana!  Storm hangs on ... power bomb!  No!  Rey frankensteiners Storm to the floor!  Both men were down and out for a bit.  Rey beat Storm to his feet and rolled back into the ring.  Storm got up on the apron and Misterio goes to suplex him in ... Storm floats over ... hooks Misterio and Mind Bender!  Storm makes the cover on Misterio ... one ... two ... THREE!  'Dangerous' Devon Storm squeaks out another tough win and holds on to the World Cruiserweight Title!

WINNER: Devon Storm in 14:05.

Rating: **** 1/4

(Devon Storm retained the NGW World Cruiserweight Title.)

  We returned to the ring...

["Don't Turn Your Back"]

The Wolfpac; 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash, 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett, 'K-Dawg' Konnan and 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner all walked out of the entrance and down to the ring where Steiner took the microphone...

STEINER:  "Big Poppa Pump is back the house!  Its been about a month since Rob Van Dam stole my World Championship but since RVD looks to be out of comission, I'll move on to a different subject.  About two weeks ago, I'm kicking back with my freaks like only the Big Bad Booty Daddy can when the phone rings.  It's Booker T.  Booker wants to know if Big Poppa Pump will come back and take out Kevin Nash and the Wolfpac.  Booker T, I never lied to you.  I told you that I hate Kevin Nash.  That wasn't a lie..."

All of a sudden, Jeff Jarrett and Konnan jump Kevin Nash!  Steiner joined in drilling Nash with forearms to the face.  Nash tried to fight them off but it was a three-on-one assault.  The three pummeled down Nash and Steiner locked him in the Steiner Recliner!  They threw Nash out of the ring and Nash clutched his knee in pain.

We took a quick commercial break, the last of the night, then returned to see footage of during the break as medics helped Kevin Nash to the back after the attack.  The Wolfpac remained in the ring...

STEINER:  "Kevin Nash, you can kiss my ass and you can get used to watching the Wolfpac at home.  Its all real simple.  Jeff Jarrett's been phoning me non-stop for weeks, trying to get me to join the Wolfpac.  I told Jeff that would be cool on one condition.  It's either Scott Steiner or Kevin Nash.  Its obvious what choice Jarrett and Konnan made.  The right choice.  Who would you rather want leading the Wolfpac?  The answer was obvious."

JARRETT:  "You see, Kevin Nash, he wass too soft.  He was too easy.  It didn't matter what he said, he was still catering to all of you morons out there.  He was still trying to be cool.  Well guess what, Nash?  Steiner's in and you're out.  This is the Wolfpac ... This is the group that is going to hold this company by its balls and Scott Steiner is the man that can take the Wolfpac to heights it would never have been able to reach with Nash at the helm."

STEINER:  "Take a look at the way Booker T was dealt with.  Nash made a stipulation that if Booker T lost last night, he could never deal with the Wolfpac again.  No, that's not how its gonna go down with Big Poppa Pump runnin' the show.  That stipulation is out the window.  Booker T, you come try and deal with the Wolfpac now.  We're not gonna stop until Booker T is an afterthought in this business, until Booker T has been wiped off the face of the wrestling world."

["Can You Dig It, SUCKA?!"]

Booker T stepped out of the entrance to a big pop from the crowd.  Booker had a microphone...

BOOKER:  "I shoulda known to have never trusted you, Steiner.  You're out here claiming how you're gonna kill off Booker T.  There's only one man that can take Booker T straight outta this game and that's Booker T.  I ain't ready to go home, I ain't ready to step aside, but I'm ready to get some of Big Poppa Pump.  Now you bettah give me some or I'm gonna take some, sucka."

STEINER:  "Next week, Booker T, I'm not gonna duck you like Nash.  You want to get in the ring with the largest arms in the world?  You've got it next week.  You don't know what you're getting yourself into Booker.  You come try and take some of this next week."

BOOKER:  "Talk about it all you want, talk about taking Booker T but next week we gonna find out if you can back that big mouth up against Booker T.  Now can you dig that, SUCKA?!"

Booker T versus Scott Steiner ... next week!  That's gonna be huge!
