NGW Ring Wars - August 26 / 2002

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation Wrestling superstars such as; Kane, Chris Kanyon, Randy Orton, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, Brock Lesnar, Eddy Guerrero, Vampiro, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner and more.  This is New Generation Wrestling and this is RING WARS...

We entered the arena as Joey Styles and Paul Heyman welcoming everyone to the show.  Tonight; Booker T and Vampiro will team up to take on the Wolfpac's Kevin Nash and Jeff Jarrett.  Also, 'Y2J' Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar will team up to face the NGW World Champion, 'The Whole F'n Show' Rob Van Dam and a partner of his choice...

["Break The Walls Down" by Sevendust]

'Y2J' Chris Jericho headed out of the entrance and soon Brock Lesnar followed behind.  Jericho and Lesnar made their way into the ring where Jericho took a microphone...

JERICHO:  "WELCOME .. to my world!  Where Chris Jericho is king of the world!  There few things in my world that are the same as in all of you jackasses' mundane, nine-to-five, boring world.  The main thing that's the same is that September 15th at NGW Revenge on pay-per-view, Chris Jericho will not only be better than all of you but I will be better then Rob Van Dam and I will be the champion of the worrrrrrrrrrrrld!  The World Championship is coming to Y2J and there ain't a damn thing Rob Van Dam can do about it!  All of you idiots with your RVD chants do nothing but motivate Chris Jericho even more to show all of you that Rob Van Dam is not in Chris Jericho's league!  Now Brock Lesnar and I are out here to find out just who the hell Rob Van Dam managed to dig up to be his tag team partner.  I mean who in their right mind would get into the ring with Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho?  I'm sure RVD is back there begging Shawn Michaels to call off the match but that's..."

["WAR MACHINE"]

The NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz walked out onto the stage...

TAZ:  "I ain't talked to Rob Van Dam but all five foot nine of the Human Suplex Machine is steppin' up to the plate.  So by your book, Jericho, that must make me stupid or crazy.  I ain't too bright but I didn't get into wrestling by writing SAT's!  I got into wrestling to beat somebody's ass, choke 'em out, dump 'em on their head and walk over them so they know they just punked out by the one man crime spree known as Taz!"

JERICHO:  "Hey Taz!  You might be a tough guy, you may have made some kind of name for yourself but come on!  You can't seriously think you're gonna throw Brock Lesnar around the ring?!  You can't think that you're gonna punk this man out?!"

TAZ:  "You'd be surprised what these hands can do.  These hands are weapons, my weapon of choice.  Brock Lesnar, you're just anotha in a long line of pumped up monkeys that's gonna get brought down to size cause you may be huge, you may be tough, you may be everything but you're human and every human can get CHOKED OUT!  I am Taz.  BEAT ME IF YOU CAN ... SURVIVE IF I LET YOU!"

Taz will be Rob Van Dam's tag team partner tonight against Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar.  What a huge main event tag team match!

Opening Match: Kane v. Faarooq.  "Slow Chemical" by Finger Eleven blared over the speakers as 'The Big Red Machine' Kane, one half of the World Tag Team Champions, walked out to the ring.  Then, "El Cu Cuy" by Coal Chamber blasted over the speakers as Faarooq made his way out to the ring.  Faarooq threw out this challenge to Kane after The Acolytes went down to Raven and Kane on RAGE.  This was all out power from both men.  The ending would see Faarooq go for a Dominator but Kane countered it with a backdrop.  Kane headed up top and came off with a flying clothesline for two.  Kane sent Faarooq into the ropes but Faarooq came off with a shoulderblock!  Faarooq then sent Kane into the ropes for the Spinebuster but Kane grabbed Faarooq by the throat and went for the Choke Slam.  Faarooq fought it off and hit a belly to belly suplex for two.  Faarooq now headed up top but Kane bounced into the ropes, crotching Faarooq.  Kane picked up Faarooq off the second rope, walked to the middle of the ring and Tombstone!  Kane covers for the one ... two ... THREE!  Kane was just too much for Faarooq to handle.

WINNER: Kane in 4:09.

Rating: 1/2*

After the match, Buh Buh Ray Dudley slid into the ring out of nowhere and drilled Kane in the back with a chair.  D-Von pulled a table from under the ring and slid it into the ring.  D-Von setup the table while Buh Buh worked over Kane.  D-Von sends Kane into the ropes and 3D through the table!  Raven, Kanyon and Scott Vick ran out from the back but it was too late as The Dudley Boyz had done their damage to Kane!

The Coach got some comments from 'Dangerous' Devon Storm...

STORM:  "Last week, I lost a lot.  Not only did I lose a match for the World Tag Team Titles.  I lost my partner Sabu to injury.  I lost to a close match to Vampiro but most importantly, I lost my direction.  Where does Dangerous Devon Storm go from here?"

A voice was heard, "DEEEEEEEEEEEEVVOOOOOON! AHHHHHHH!"

STORM:  "D .. d .. Daffney?"

DAFFNEY:  "What's up Devon?  Long time no see!  Did you miss me?"

STORM:  "Yeah of course but what're you doing here?"

DAFFNEY:  "I came to see you silly.  But I hear you're lacking direction.  You have a match with Taka Michinoku tonight, start there and go after the World Cruiserweight Title!"

STORM:  "World Cruiserweight Champion Devon Storm ... That sounds good ... That sounds right!  That sounds like a direction!"

Devon Storm's eyes were buldging wide as he envisioned being the World Cruiserweight Champion while Daffney looked pleased.

Match #2: Taka Michinoku v. Devon Storm. "Touch Of Evil" by AC/DC blared over the speakers as Taka Michinoku headed out to the ring for our next match.  Then, "Terrible Lie" by Nine Inch Nails blasted over the speakers as 'Dangerous' Devon Storm made his way out along with Daffney.  Devon Storm has his direction and that's making the climb to the World Cruiserweight Title.  However, Taka Michinoku doesn't care about Storm's vision and wants to move up in the Cruiserweight Division himself.  Storm seemed like a new wrestler facing someone around his size after putting his body on the line against big men like Kane for the past few months.  The ending would see Storm go for a brain buster but Taka floated over.  Taka tried a Michinoku Driver IIb but Storm elbowed him off.  Storm went for a german suplex but Taka landed on his feet.  Taka dropkicked Storm in the knees then in the face for two.  Taka headed to the top and came off with a cross body but Storm caught him with a dropkick.  Storm went up and came off with a big splash but Taka rolled out of the way.  Taka scooped up Storm for the Michinoku Driver but Storm floated over and hit the Mind Bender for the one ... two ... THREE!  Devon Storm takes a big first step in his new direction with a solid win over Taka Michinoku.

WINNER: Devon Storm in 8:08.

The Coach tried to get some comments from Konnan about his involvement last week, debuting and joining the Wolfpac but Kevin Nash and Jeff Jarrett walked up and took over...

NASH:  "Konnan is what the Wolfpac is all about.  He embodies the attitude of the Wolfpac.  Yeah, we like to party, like to have some fun but if you get in our way?  If you cross the pac?  Then we'll take you out and pick your bones dry."

KONNAN:  "Randy Orton, it's me and you tonight, strawberry.  No, no, not that kind of strawberry.  Randy Orton is a strawberry cause he's fresh and ripe for the picking.  Orton, it's time for your wake up call tonight courtesy of the K - Diggity Dawg!  We're gonna get bout it bout it and rowdy and rowdy ... ahhhhh yeeeah, that's enough!"

Match #3: Konnan v. Randy Orton.  "Don't Turn Your Back" sounded over the speakers as 'K-Dawg' Konnan headed out to the ring for his NGW debut match.  Konnan made his surprising debut last week helping Jeff Jarrett defeat Booker T and joining up with his old buddy Kevin Nash in the Wolfpac.  Then, "Here To Stay" by KoRn blasted over the speakers as Randy Orton made his way out to the ring.  Orton's been embroiled in a feud with The Flock ever since his debut and scored a measure of revenge last week beating Scott Vick.  Konnan took Orton lightly in the opening moments but quickly realized what everyone else in NGW has realized that Randy Orton is the real deal.  The ending would see Konnan tie up Orton in a ziplock but Orton just wouldn't submit.  Konnan sent Orton into the ropes and went for a rolling clothesline but Orton ducked and caught Konnan with a DDT for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Konnan kicked out!  Orton went for a swinging neckbreaker but Konnan spun out and caught Orton with a faceslam!  Konnan picked up Orton and went for a Power Drop but Orton slipped down the back and inside cradled Konnan for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Konnan just kicked out!  Orton connected with a couple uppercuts, staggering Konnan then headed up top for the High Cross Body but Konnan shoved the ref into the ropes.  Orton got crotched and fell down to the canvas.  Konnan picked up Orton and spiked him with the Cradle DDT for the one ... two ... THREE!  Konnan gets off to a winning start over Randy Orton.

WINNER: Konnan in 5:33.

Rating: * 1/4

The Coach got some comments from The Dudley Boyz about their attack on Kane and their upcoming match with Chris Kanyon and Scott Vick...

D-VON:  "The Dudley Boyz have stayed quiet for too long.  Raven!  Kane!  Those World Tag Team Titles belong to us.  It is now time for Buh Buh Ray and D-Von to take back what never should have been taken from us in the first place."

BUH BUH:  "Raven and Kane, if we've gotta put you through tables, we'll put you through tables.  If we've gotta go through The Flock, we'll go through the Flock.  We'll do whatever we have to do to show you that The Dudley Boyz are the greatest tag team in wrestling.  And we will show that when you commit the sin of messing with The Dudley Boyz, you will pay for that sin and you will pay in pain!"

D-VON:  "Testify, my brother, TESTIFY!"

Match #4: Chris Kanyon & Scott Vick v. The Dudley Boyz.  "Immune" by Godsmack blared over the speakers as The Flock's Chris Kanyon and 'Sick' Scott Vick made their way out to the ring.  Then, "Turn The Tables" by Saliva blasted over the speakers as The Dudley Boyz headed out to the ring.  Buh Buh Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley made a statement earlier tonight by putting Kane through a table.  The Dudley Boyz had taken a backseat in the tag team division since dropping the belts to Raven and Kane but they've put themselves in the forefront again.  The ending of this match would see Kanyon and Vick beat down D-Von in their corner.  Kanyon hammered on D-Von but D-Von stepped out and dropped Kanyon face first on the top turnbuckle.  D-Von crawled over to make the tag but Kanyon cut him off.  Kanyon sent D-Von into the ropes but D-Von came off with a spinning elbowsmash.  D-Von made the tag to Buh Buh.  Buh Buh went for the Buh Buh Bomb but Kanyon elbowed him off and made the tag to Scott Vick.  Vick came in with a springboard lariat!  Vick then picked up Buh Buh and planted him with the Cure!  Vick covers for the one ... two ... D-Von breaks it up!  Kanyon started to come in but D-Von knocked him out of the ring.  Vick hammered on D-Von but D-Von sent Vick into the ropes and 3D!  Buh Buh makes the cover for the one ... two ... THREE!  The Dudley Boyz take the win.

WINNERS: The Dudley Boyz in 5:46.

Rating: *

After the match, Raven snuck into the ring and caught Buh Buh Ray Dudley with a short arm lariat.  Raven then went for the Evenflow DDT on D-Von Dudley but Buh Buh grabbed Raven from behind and planted him with the Buh Buh Bomb!  Buh Buh shoved D-Von, 'D-VON ... GET THE TABLE!'  D-Von brought the table in.  Kanyon came back in but Buh Buh caught him with a facebuster.  D-Von setup the table and Buh Buh went up top.  D-Von fed Raven to Buh Buh and SUPER BOMB through the table!  Kane walked out and The Dudley Boyz challenged him to get in the ring but Kane just picked up Raven and carried him to the back...

The Coach got some comments from Booker T...

BOOKER T:  "The Wolfpac may think they're gonna run things around here, they may think that people are gonna back down from them but Booker T ain't backin' down from those punk ass suckas.  Booker T is steppin up in their face until the Wolfpac is just a bunch of dead dogs.  Speakin' of steppin up, Vampiro is steppin up to help take these suckas down tonight.  Booker T and Vampiro .. oh it's gonna be on like a neckbone, now can you dig that?  SUCKA!"

Match #5: Booker T & Vampiro v. Kevin Nash & Jeff Jarrett.  "Can You Dig It? SUCKA!" sounded over the speakers as Booker T made his way out to the ring.  "Kong At The Gates" by The Misfits blared over the speakers as 'The Dark Angel' Vampiro headed out to the ring.  Then, "Don't Turn Your Back" sounded over the speakers as the Wolfpac's 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash and 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett made their way out to the ring.  Vampiro tried to help even the odds last week and prevent Kevin Nash from interfering but Konnan came out of the crowd, jumping Booker T and allowed Jeff Jarrett to get the win.  Nash and Jarrett teamed up well with Jarrett's technical wrestling and Nash's power.  The ending would see Booker go for an axe kick on Jarrett but Jarrett side stepped it and hit a DDT on Booker for two.  Jarrett picked up Booker and went for the Piledriver but Booker picked up Jarrett and hit a 110th Street Slam!  Booker crawled over and made the tag to Vampiro.  Jarrett also tagged in Kevin Nash.  Nash went for a forearm but Vampiro ducked it and nailed Nash with some kicks to the legs.  Vampiro bounced off the ropes but Nash caught him in a sidewalk slam but Booker broke up the count.  Jarrett came in but got backdropped out of the ring.  Booker then caught Nash with the Neckwrecker!  The referee forced Booker out of the ring.  Konnan slid into the ring with a chair but Vampiro kicked him and pulled the chair away.  Booker came back in and went at Konnan but Vampiro swung at Konnan with the chair but hit Booker T by mistake!  Nash drilled Vampiro with a big boot then pulled him in and Jacknife Power Bomb on the chair!  Nash covers Vampiro for the one ... two ... THREE!  The Wolfpac steals yet another win.

WINNERS: Kevin Nash and Jeff Jarrett in 7:40.

Rating: ** 1/2

Essa Rios.  "Loco" by Coal Chamber blasted over the speakers as 'Nicho El Millionaro' Psicosis made his way out to the ring.  Then, "Papi Chulo" by Funkdoobiest blared over the speakers as Essa Rios headed out to the ring.  Psicosis and Essa Rios had a real good match last week where Essa Rios pulled out the win over Psicosis.  Psicosis demanded a rematch to redeem himself and Essa Rios obliged.  The ending would see Rios go for a springboard armdrag but Psicosis dropkicked Rios sending him to the floor.  Psicosis then hit a ropeflip moonsault to the outside!  Psicosis rolled in and hit a slingshot legdrop for two.  Psicosis went for a power bomb but Rios countered it with a frankensteiner.  Rios caught Psicosis in a rolling front slam.  Rios went up for the Moonsault but Psicosis rolled out of the way!  Psicosis hit a falcon arrow for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Psicosis sent Rios into the ropes and went for a backdrop but Rios armdragged Psicosis sending him out of the ring.  Rios came out with a corkscrew plancha but Psicosis dodged it!  Psicosis slid back into the ring and distracted the referee.  Someone came out of the crowd ...
