-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==- NGW Ring Wars - June 10 / 2002 -==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==- We opened with a
flashback to last week as Scott Steiner attempted to break Vampiro's ankle and
assaulting numerous officials concluding with the Steinerline heard 'round the
world on Shawn Michaels, the NGW Commissioner...
"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring
Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation
Wrestling superstars such as; Saturn, Too Cold Scorpio, The Sandman, Chris
Kanyon, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, The Acolytes, William Regal, Sabu, Eddy Guerrero,
Vampiro, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Rob Van Dam, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner,
'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and more. This
is New Generation Wrestling and this is RING WARS... We entered the
arena with Joey Styles and Paul Heyman welcoming everyone to the show and
speculating on what Shawn Michaels' reaction will be to getting a Steinerline
last week... Opening Match: The Sandman v. D-Von Dudley. "Enter Sandman" by Metallica blared
over the speakers to kick things off as 'The Extreme Icon' The Sandman headed
out to the ring, along with his partner Too Cold Scorpio, for singles action. Then, "Turn The Tables" by Saliva
blasted over the speakers as one-half of the NGW World Tag Team Champions,
D-Von Dudley made his way out to the ring with his half brother and tag team
partner Buh Buh Ray Dudley. The Dudley
Boyz, the third World Tag Team Champions, put the titles on the line against
the first champions, Sandman and Scorpio coming up in thirteen days at Hostile
City Showdown. Two tough customers
brawled it out for the most part here.
There's no hatred between these two teams but all four men are proud and
love to fight. The ending would see Sandman
hit a suplex on D-Von for two. Sandman
hammered on D-Von then sent him into the ropes but D-Von came off with a
shoulderblock. D-Von sent Sandman back
into the ropes and hit a spinning elbowsmash for two. D-Von slammed down Sandman and headed up top. D-Von came off with a Flying Headbutt but
Sandman rolled out of the way. Both men
staggered to their feet and Sandman caught D-Von with a DDT! Sandman headed up top and connected with the
Jagermeister Jam for the one ... two ... THREE!
'The Extreme Icon' takes an important win to gain momenteum on the
champs. WINNER: The Sandman in 4:34. Rating: 3/4* Afterwards,
Scorpio got a little cocky as he usual does and started to dance. Buh Buh Ray Dudley saw this, came in, grabbed
Scorpio and planted him with a Buh Buh Bomb!
Sandman slugged away at Buh Buh until D-Von nailed Sandman, sent him
into the ropes and ... 3D! Sandman
tastes the Dudley Death Drop! D-Von may
have lost the match but The Dudley Boyz are the ones walking away from the
ring... ["Kong At The Gates" by The Misfits] 'The Dark Angel'
Vampiro walked out of the entrance on crutches.
Vampiro made his way down to the ring where he took a microphone... VAMPIRO:
"Scott Steiner, you may have put me on the shelf last week but it
won't be for long. Pain is only
temporary, darkness is eternal and I will be back in action soon enough. I just wanted to come out here tonight to
show Scott Steiner that if he continues to go around and take cheap shots, its
gonna come back to bite him in the ass.
I'm giving Shawn Michaels my full support for him to take whatever
actions he sees necessary against Big Poppa Pump..." ["Siempre Peligroso" by Cypress Hill] Vampiro was
interrupted as Eddy Guerrero emerged from the entrance with a smirk on his
face. Guerrero walked down to the ring
and took a microphone... GUERRERO:
"What's goin' on, homey?
Long time, no see. Look at you in
your stupid face paint, you fffffreak!
You've wasted enough time that Eddy Guerrero could've been out here
showcasing all of my talents. I don't
care what you got to say, esae. [Shoves
Vampiro] Hahaha, what'e you gonna do,
homey? You gonna hit me? [Pushes Vampiro again] You can't do nothin' freak but take
it..." ["WAR MACHINE"] 'The Human Suplex
Machine' Taz, the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, stepped out of the
entrance. Taz walked down into the ring
and stepped between Guerrero and Vampiro.
Taz took the microphone from Vampiro... GUERRERO:
"What'd you want? This has
nothin' to do with you," TAZ: "You
wanna be a big man, Eddy Guerrero, you wanna be a tough guy? Instead of trying to push around a guy on
crutches ... why don't you try pushing around the one man crime spree? Why don't you try pushin' around me? That's right, you won't because I'd dump you
on your stupid lookin' head and choke your ass out!" GUERRERO: "Is
that a challenge? Look at that nice gold
belt you've got with you ... It'd look real good around my sexy Latino
waist. Why don't you put your money where
your mouth is esae and put that title on the line against Eddy Guerrero at
Hostile City Showdown?" TAZ: "You
just signed away your oxygen, brotha." Guerrero smacked
Taz right in the face... GUERRERO:
"You ain't gonna do nothin' to Eddy Guerrero, man." Taz drilled
Guerrero with a big right hand, Vampiro nailed Eddy then Taz locked Guerrero in
the Tazmission! Jeff Jarrett hit the
ring and cheap shotted Vampiro and stomping on his injured ankle. Jarrett drilled Taz low, breaking the Tazmission. Jarrett stomped away on Taz. Guerrero soon recovered and the two beat down
on Taz. WAITAMINUTE! Here comes Rob Van Dam! Rob Van Dam to the top and flying kick takes
out Jarrett! RVD kicks Guerrero,
Guerrero catches the leg but Van Dam steps over and drills Guerrero with a
spinning mule kick! Eddy and Jarrett
rolled out of the ring away from Van Dam and Taz. Van Dam picked up the microphone... VAN DAM:
"Eddy Guerrero, since it looks like you're already gonna get your
ass handed to you at Hostile City Showdown by Taz that leaves you Jeff
Jarrett. Jarrett! I want you in the ring at Hostile City
Showdown!" Jeff Jarrett
agreed then threw out a challenge for Van Dam and Taz to meet him and Guerrero
later here tonight. RVD and Taz looked
at each other and accepted the challenge.
JEFF JARRETT and EDDY GUERRERO versus ROB VAN DAM and TAZ ... TONIGHT! Match #2: Kaz Hayashi v. Taka Michinoku - Cruiserweight
Cup (Pool B Finals). "I Don't
Mind" by Drain STH blared over the speakers as Kaz Hayashi headed out to
the ring. Then, "A Touch Of
Evil" by AC/DC blared over the speakers as Taka Michinoku made his way out
to the ring. Kaz Hayashi and Taka Michinoku
finished off the round robin portion of the Cruiserweight Cup tied for first
place with records of 3-1. The winner
here will be the winner of Pool B and will go to Hostile City Showdown to meet
the winner of Pool A for the vacant NGW World Cruiserweight Title. The ending of the match would see Hayashi go
for a dragon suplex but Taka elbowed him off.
Taka stunned Kaz with a few hard chops, went out to the apron and hit a
springboard dropkick for two! Taka
picked up Kaz for the Michinoku Driver but Kaz floated over and planted
Michinoku with an Inverted Bulldog! Kaz
headed to the top rope and SENTON BOMB!
It connects! Kaz makes the cover
on Taka for the one ... two ... THREE!
Kaz Hayashi pulls off the huge win over Taka Michinoku. Kaz will go to Hostile City Showdown to face
either Juventud Guerrera or Rey Misterio Jr. for the gold. WINNER: Kaz Hayashi in 11:26. Rating: **** [backstage] Mike Tenay is
shown standing by with Chris Jericho but before he can finish asking Y2J his
question ... 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin blindsided Jericho! Austin hammered away on Jericho then picked
up Y2J and smacked his head against a concrete wall. Austin grabbed Jericho and took him down a
hallway then threw Jericho into a room.
Austin grabbed the camera man and pulled him into the room and shut the
door. Inside, Austin jammed the door shut
with a chair and picked up a baseball bat as Jericho backed away, pleading with
Austin... We cut to The
Coach standing outside of the NGW Commissioner, Shawn Michaels office... COACH: "Shawn
Michaels has been inside here all night long on the phone but he has told me
that later here tonight he will make a public statement concering the NGW World
Champion, Scott Steiner. When the
Commissioner is ready to make his statement, we'll bring it to you." Match #3: Scott Vick v. Devon Storm. "(sic)" by Slipknot blasted over
the speakers as 'Sick' Scott Vick made his way out tot he ring. Then, "Terrible Lie (Live)" by Nine
Inch Nails blasted over the speakers as 'Dangerous' Devon Storm headed out to
the ring. It was only a few weeks ago
that Devon Storm was uncerimoniously dumped from The Flock by Raven after
Storm's Respect Match with Sabu. Storm
was looking for some retribution against a current Flock member, Scott
Vick. The ending would see Storm go for
a brain buster but Vick dropped down the back and hit a side russian
legsweep. Vick went out to the apron and
came in with a springboard crossbody but Storm rolled through for two. Vick kicked Storm and went for the Cure but
Storm countered it with a slingshot then planted Vick with the Mind Bender for
the one ... two ... THREE! Devon Storm
gets a measure of revenge against The Flock. WINNER: Devon Storm in 4:26. Rating: * Afterwards, Chris
Kanyon hit the ring and jumped Devon Storm.
Kanyon hammered on Storm until Vick recovered. Kanyon instructed Vick to hold Storm. Vick grabbed Storm and Kanyon went for a
thrust kick but Storm ducked and Kanyon drilled Vick with a thrust kick. Storm grabbed Kanyon for the Mind Bender but
Kanyon elbowed him then drilled Storm low.
Kanyon planted Storm with the Flatliner and trash talked a bit before
leaving... [backstage] We cut inside a
room where Chris Jericho is shown sitting in a chair. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin is pacing around
the room with a baseball bat in his hand... AUSTIN: "Move
an inch, I'll knock your damn lights." JERICHO:
"What'd you want Austin? You
can't do this to me, I'm Chris Jericho, I'm a living legend and I don't deserve
to be treated like this." Stone Cold grabs
a two beers from a cooler and gives one to Jericho. AUSTIN: "Go
ahead, have a drink." JERICHO: "A
man of my stature does not drink beer..." AUSTIN: "OPEN
IT! [Jericho obliges as Austin holds up the bat] You wanna know why you're here? You think you don't deserve to be treated
like this? What do you think you were
doing when you screwed Stone Cold Steve Austin out of the World Championship,
son? You thought you could come in here,
be a big shot and make a name for yourself at Stone Cold's expense? EH! EH!
You think you're such a big shot?
You're a living legend? I think
you're absolutley pathetic. I think
you're a jackass. I don't care where
you've come from and what you've done in the past because you don't know pain,
you don't know an ass whipping until you've messed with Stone Cold Steve
Austin. You've gotten yourself way in
over your head, Jericho. Speaking of
your head, I could break this baseball bat right over your head and end this
thing once and for all. But that's not
what I'm gonna do. Lucky for you Chris
Jericho over the years I've become a little wiser ... smarter ... more well
thought out and while it'd feel great to break this bat over your head, I'm
not. Instead, I'm gonna let your
candyass go. Which is not so lucky for
you because all this rage, all this anger, all this hate is building up inside
me. Come Hostile City Showdown, you'll
walk your ass out that ring, you will lock eyes with Stone Cold Steve Austin
and you will know that you have picked the absolute last sumbitch that you want
to mess with. You will know that your
ass belongs to Stone Cold Steve Austin.
What I suggest is that Sunday morning, you go to church and you pray to
the lord to have mercy on you because when you step in that ring, I will have
no mercy on your ass and that's the bottom line ... 'cause Stone Cold Said
So!" NGW officials
finally got the door open as Austin finished and stepped in between the
two. Stone Cold has sent his message
loud and clear to Chris Jericho, there will be hell to pay at Hostile City
Showdown... Match #4: Juventud Guerrera v. Rey Misterio Jr. -
Cruiserweight Cup (Pool A Finals).
"Size 'Em Up" by Big L blared over the speakers as 'The Juice'
Juventud Guerrera headed out to the ring first.
Then, "Ashes To Ashes" by Madd One blared over the speakers as
Rey Misterio Jr. made his way out to the ring.
Juventud Guerrera wrapped up the round robin portion of the
Cruiserweight Cup a perfect 4-0. Rey
Misterio Jr. finished second at 3-1 with that one loss coming at the hands of
Juventud. The winner here moves onto
Hostile City Showdown to meet Kaz Hayashi for the vacant NGW World
Cruiserweight Title. The ending would
see Misterio send Juvy out to the floor and go for a baseball slide spinning
headscissors but Juvy held on to Misterio.
Amazingly, Misterio managed to float up and catch Juvy with a bulldog on
the floor! Misterio rolled Juvy in and
headed up top. Juvy caught up to
Misterio and stunned him with a few chops.
Juvy went up and hooked up Misterio for a Super Fisherman Buster but
Misterio blocked it, then flipped over Juvy with a sunset flip power bomb off
the top! Misterio made the cover for the
one ... two ... THR ... NO! Juvy got a
shoulder up! Misterio went out to the
apron and called for the Springboard Hurricanrana! Juvy staggered to his feet, Misterio came in

Running Power Bomb ... NO! Misterio
counters it at the last second with a Hurricanrana! Misterio cradles the legs tight for the one
... two ... THREE! THREE! Rey Misterio
Jr. pulls it out and will go to Hostile City Showdown to meet Kaz Hayashi for
the vacant World Cruiserweight Title! WINNER: Rey Misterio Jr. in 10:05. Rating: *** 1/4 [backstage] The Coach got
some comments from Saturn about his match tonight with Kane and the announcement
that at Hostile City Showdown he will team with Sabu to take on Raven and
Kane... SATURN: "I'll
take any chance I can get to get my hands on that coward Raven. I don't care what kind of match it is, any
day when I get to punch Raven in the face is a good day for me. And it was a very good day at Animosity, I
had Raven beaten to a bloody pulp, that was until Kane showed up. Kane may be the Big Red Machine but man or
machine, when you feel the Death Valley Driver, you're ELIMINATED!" Match #5: Kane v. Saturn.
"Slow Chemical" by Finger Eleven blared over the speakers as
'The Big Red Machine' Kane walked out to the ring for singles action. Kane has taken NGW by storm since debuting at
Animosity under the control of Raven.
Then, "Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson blasted over the
speakers as Saturn headed out to the ring.
Saturn had Raven beaten to a bloody pulp at Animosity until Kane
interjected himself so Saturn was looking to get some revenge against the big
man. We just heard earlier that Saturn
will team with Sabu at Hostile City Showdown to meet Raven and Kane. The ending would see Saturn make the mistake
of going for a T-Bone Suplex but Kane blocked it then hit a gutwrench suplex. Kane headed up top for a flying clothesline
but Saturn dove at the ropes and crotched Kane up top. Saturn went up for a superplex but Kane
shoved him off then came off with a flying clothesline for two. Kane went for a Choke Slam but Saturn kicked
Kane low for a DQ! WINNER: Kane via DQ in 4:10. Rating: * Afterwards,
Saturn called to the back and Sabu ran out with a chair. Sabu tossed the chair to Saturn and Saturn
drilled Kane in the back with it. Saturn
put down the chair on the mat. Sabu and
Saturn hit a double DDT onto the chair!
Raven started to come out but stopped when Sabu and Saturn saw him
coming. Sabu and Saturn have given Kane
and Raven a taste of their own medicine. [backstage] The Coach was
standing by outside of the Commissioner's Office when finally the door opened
and Shawn Michaels emerged... MICHAELS:
"You know what, Coach? The
people want a statement from me and I'm gonna make a statement but I'm gonna do
it infront of the people..." We went to a
short vignette set to "Head Up" by Deftones. We saw shots of a huge man. A voiceover was heard ... "BROCK LESNAR
... NCAA Heavyweight Champion ... BROCK LESNAR ... 6 foot 4 ... BROCK LESNAR
... 295 Pounds ... BROCK LESNAR ... The hottest free agent in wrestling ... BROCK
LESNAR ... He's Coming ... BROCK LESNAR!" Main Event: Rob Van Dam & Taz v. Eddy Guerrero &
Jeff Jarrett. "Walk" by
Pantera blasted over the speakers as 'The Whole F'n Show' Rob Van Dam headed
out to the ring first. "WAR
MACHINE" blared over the speakers as the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion,
'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz made his way out to the ring. Then, "Siempre Peligroso" by
Cypress Hill blared over the speakers as Eddy Guerrero and 'The Chosen One'
Jeff Jarrett made their way out to the ring.
This match was set up earlier in the night when Guerrero was pushing
around an injured Vampiro, Taz came out and told Guerrero to try and pick on
him, Jarrett attacked Taz but Rob Van Dam made the save leading to this tag
team main event. We also had two big
matches signed for Hostile City Showdown as Rob Van Dam will face off against
Jeff Jarrett and Taz will put the US Heavyweight Title on the line against Eddy
Guerrero. The closing moments of this
match would see Jarrett go for a single arm DDT but Van Dam drove Jarrett into
the corner. RVD drove another shoulder
into Jarrett, backflipped and speared Jarrett in the corner. Jarrett fell down to the canvas and Van Dam
went for a split legged moonsault but Jarrett got the knees up. Both men
crawled to their corners ... Jarrett makes the tag to Guerrero. Guerrero runs in to try and stop Van Dam but
Van Dam makes the tag to Taz! Guerrero
backed off but Taz hammered him with rights.
Eddy went to the eyes and tried to send Taz into the ropes but Taz
pulled Guerrero in and dumped him with a Head & Arm Tazplex! Taz made the cover on Guerrero for the one
... two ... THR ... Jarrett breaks it up!
Van Dam came back in and hammered on Jarrett. Guerrero came at Van Dam but Van Dam caught
him with a spinning mule kick! Jarrett
drilled Van Dam low and threw him out of the ring! Jarrett pointed to his head but Taz was up
and grabbed Jarrett in the Tazmission!
Jarrett was tapping out but he's not the legal man. Guerrero comes from behind, rolls up Taz with
a handfull of tights ... ONE! TWO! THREE!
Eddy Guerrero steals the pin on Taz! WINNERS: Eddy Guerrero & Jeff Jarrett in 13:45. Rating: *** After the match,
Eddy Guerrero quickly rolled out of the ring before Taz could get a piece of
him. Tights or not, Guerrero has just
scored a huge pinfall on the US Heavyweight Champion... We returned from
our final break... ['Oh! Oh! Shawn!'] The NGW
Commissioner, 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels headed out to the ring. Michaels did not look to be in a good mood at
all, which is no surprise after Scott Steiner assaulted him last week... MICHAELS:
"Incase you haven't heard already, last week Scott Steiner not only
put his hands on me but he hit me with a Steinerline. Now I'm not coming out here and bitching
about getting hit cause anybody who knows Shawn Michaels knows that I made a
living on getting my ass beat. But
there's a reason that I'm not still Superkicking people's teeth down their
stinkin' throats. There's a reason that
I'm the Commissioner and that's because of a career ending back injury. I've got a wife and I've got a son that I
need to provide for so I don't appreciate people like Scott Steiner trying to
take that away from me. Steiner, I'm
really at a loss as to what to do with you.
You tried to end Rob Van Dam's career.
You attacked Stone Cold Steve Austin in a parking lot and tried to
cripple him with a lead pipe. You tried
to snap Vampiro's ankle last week.
You've assaulted official after official. Then you put your hands me on me, the
Comissioner. So Scott Steiner..." ["I Need A Freak" by Too $hort] HBK was cut off
before he could finish as the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott
Steiner walked out to the ring with Midajah.
Steiner posed a bit and jawed with some fans before he took a microphone... STEINER:
"Shawn Michaels ... Maybe at one time you were a Showstopper but
right now the show stops here. The show
stops with the largest arms in the world.
You wanna know what makes me think I can try and end people's careers,
try and cripple people and most of all put my hands on the Commissioner. The answer is simple, my name is Scott
Steiner, I'm the World Champion and I'll do whatever the hell I want, to who I
want, when and I want and can't nobody stop me.
What're you gonna do? Fine
me? I've got all the money in the
world. Suspend me? Fire me?
You can't do **** to me! I'm
untouchable..." MICHAELS:
"Hold it right there, big man.
I've sat back and let everybody around here do their thing, especially
you. I've been leniant, maybe too
leniant with you and instead of respecting the way I run this ship, how do you
respond? You take a cheap shot at
me." STEINER:
"You're right ... It was a cheap shot and I haven't been showing
you the proper respect so right here, right now, I'm the one that's gonna make
a statement. Big Poppa Pump is gonna
make a change and start showing you the respect that you deserve." MICHAELS:
"That's all I ask is for some res..." Scott Steiner cut
Shawn Michaels off with a sucker punch.
Steiner sent Michaels into the ropes and took his head off with a
Steinerline! Steiner then stood over
Michaels and called for the Steiner Recliner but a massive amount of NGW
officials and security flooded the ring to protect the Commissioner as the show
came to a close... ==-==-==-==-==-==-== NGW News & Notes-: ==-==-==-==-==-==-== -NGW RAGE taping results for Saturday, June 15th, 2002: Low Ki' pinned Chris Candido with the Ki-Krusher in 6:35. Rating: ** 1/2 The Acolytes defeated Evolution when Bradshaw pinned Jett
