"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation Wrestling superstars such as; Saturn, Too Cold Scorpio, The Sandman, Chris Kanyon, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, The Acolytes, William Regal, Sabu, Eddy Guerrero, Vampiro, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Rob Van Dam, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and more.  This is New Generation Wrestling and this is RING WARS...

We entered the arena with Joey Styles and Paul Heyman welcoming us to the show.  Tonight; the Cruiserweight Cup beings with Rey Misterio Jr. versus Chris Candido (Pool A) and Taka Michinoku against Kaz Hayashi (Pool B).  'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett will be in non-title action against Too Cold Scorpio.  Chris Kanyon battles Vampiro.  Rob Van Dam will team with The Dudley Boyz against Eddy Guerrero and Simon Diamond & Swinger.  In our Main Event, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin goes one-on-one with Goldust.  All that and more tonight on Ring Wars...

Opening Match: Chris Candido v. Rey Misterio Jr. - Cruiserweight Cup (Pool A).  "Back In Black" by AC/DC blared over the speakers as 'No Gimmicks Needed' Chris Candido made his way out to the ring.  Then, "Ashes To Ashes" by Madd One blared over the speakers as Rey Misterio Jr. headed out to the ring.  The fans were very pleased to see Rey Jr and took to him right away.  This is the beginning of the two pool Cruiserweight Cup which will run for about five weeks, then the top two men in each pool will enter a mini-tournament to crown the first ever NGW World Cruiserweight Champion at NGW Hostile City Showdown in June.  Candido used his size and power advantage over Misterio to try and ground the daredevil.  The ending would see Candido go for a german suplex but Misterio countered it with a bulldog.  Misterio dropped two legs low on Candido.  Candido rolled out to the floor but Misterio got a head of steam and slid out head first and caught Candido with a Tornado DDT on the floor!  Misterio rolled Candido in then came in with a Springboard Huracanrana but Candido turned it into a vicious power bomb!  Candido signalled for the end and took Misterio up top.  Candido went up the other side and went for the Blond Bombshell!  Misterio counters it with a Super Frankensteiner in mid-air!  Misterio covers Candido for the one ... two ... THREE!  Rey Misterio Jr makes a successful NGW debut to go 1-0 in the Cruiserweight Cup!

WINNER: Rey Misterio Jr. in 9:24.

Rating: ** 3/4

The Coach got some comments from Bill Alfonso and 'The Human Highlight Reel' Sabu...

ALFONSO:  "Devon Storm, last week you got offered something that doesn't get offered much.  Sabu offered you his respect, daddy and you not only turned it down but you disgraced it.  You're nothing but a punk and a sore loser, Devon Storm, and if you can't see a good thing like Sabu offering you his respect, then you're a sorry excuse for a man, Devon Storm."

'Dangerous' Devon Storm walked up to Sabu and Fonzie...

STORM:  "What?  Like I'm supposed to care about Sabu?  I don't give a damn about you.  I don't respect you and I don't care if you respect me.  I've got no respect for anyone around here but Raven.  Raven showed me the way, Raven feels my pain!"

ALFONSO:  "You need to learn respect, Devon Storm, and Sabu is gonna beat some respect into ya at Animosity, what'd you think about that, Devon Storm?"

STORM:  "What'd I think about that?"

Storm turned and decked Fonzie with a right hand.  Sabu slugged away at Storm and the two brawled in a pull-apart by officials...

Match #2: Jeff Jarrett v. Too Cold Scorpio - Non-Title.  "Cowboy" by Kid Rock blared over the speakers as the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett headed out to the ring for this non-title match.  Then, "Whoomp! There It Is" by Tag Team blared over the speakers as Too Cold Scorpio made his way out to the ring.  Jarrett's coming off getting hit with a guitar by RVD and getting choked out by Taz last week.  Jarrett was looking to get back on his game here against Scorpio.  The ending of the match would see Jarrett hit a piledriver on Scorpio for 2 1/2.  Jarrett headed up top and came off with a flying axehandle but Scorpio caught him in mid-air with a dropkick.  Scorpio planted Jarrett with Lyger Bomb!  Scorpio headed up top and came off with a 450 Splash but Jarrett rolled out of the way.  Scorpio clutched his knee in pain.  Jarrett targeted the knee and worked it over on the ropes.  Jarrett picked up Scorpio for the Stroke but Scorpio elbowed him off.  Scorpio tried to shake off his sore knee then kicked Jarrett but Jarrett grabbed the leg.  Scorpio tried an enzuigiri but Jarrett ducked then locked Scorpio in a Figure-Four Leglock!  Scorpio had nowhere to go and reluctantly tapped out to the pain!  'The Chosen One' picks up the win via submission!

WINNER: Jeff Jarrett in 4:34.

Rating: * 3/4

We then headed to a video package about the NGW World Champion, Scott Steiner set to "Take Your Best Shot" by Dope.  The video package showed clips of Steiner training in the gym, spliced in with the destruction that Steiner has caused over the past few months in NGW.  Steiner has left a trail of battered bodies in his path during his reign as the first and only NGW World Champion.  Steiner has gone to extreme measures to inflict pain on his opponents whether it be in the ring or outside of the ring.

After the video package we cut to a shot of Scott Steiner walking near a pool with several bikini clad women in the pool checking him out.  The World Champion gave them a little flex of his bicep then went and sat down on a chair and spoke to the camera...

STEINER:  "This is what it means to be the World Champion.  You get to live the high life.  All the freaks are mesmerized by the big bad booty daddy.  Stone Cold Steve Austin, I'm not ready to give up this life and I'm gonna do whatever I have to do to make sure I walk out of Animosity, the World Champion.  This week I decided to give myself a little vacation but it wasn't for me ... It was for NGW's own good ... No one needs to have their career shortened this week but don't worry, Big Poppa Pump will be back next week.  Stone Cold, I leave you with a piece of advice.  Enjoy the world of wrestling while you still can."

Steiner relaxed in the chair while Midajah brought him another drink...

Match #3: Chris Kanyon v. Vampiro.  "Immune" by Godsmack blasted over the speakers as The Flock's Chris Kanyon headed out to the ring.  Kanyon has been referred to as Raven's right-hand man of sorts but he's much more then a lacky or a goon.  Then, "Kong At The Gates" by The Misfits sounded over the speakers as 'The Dark Angel' Vampiro stalked his way out to the ring.  Kanyon almost cost Vampiro a match against Raven last week but Saturn turned the tide and Vampiro ended up getting the win.  Still, Vampiro was looking for some payback for Kanyon's interference.  The ending would see Kanyon go for a thrust kick but Vampiro countered it with a legsweep.  Kanyon reversed a whip into the ropes and caught Vampiro with a shoulder lift flapjack!  Kanyon slowly headed up top but Vampiro caught up to him and crotched him.  Vampiro went up and hit a big belly-to-back superplex for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Vampiro scooped up Kanyon for the Vampiro Spike but Kanyon small packaged Vampiro for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Both men got up ... Vampiro goes for a lariat but Kanyon plants him with the Flatliner out of desperation!  Kanyon's out of it to!  Kanyon slowly rolled over and draped an arm over Vampiro for the one ... two ... THRENO! NO! ONLY TWO!  Kanyon couldn't believe it!  Kanyon picked up Vampiro and sent him into the ropes, Vampiro came off with a spinning heel kick!  Vampiro then went for an uranage but Kanyon elbows Vampiro and FLATLINER!  Kanyon covered Vampiro for the one ... two ... THREE!  A huge win over Chris Kanyon after two Flatliners!

WINNER: Chris Kanyon in 5:48.

Rating: ** 3/4

  We returned from a break...

["Come Out And Play" by Offspring]

The enigmatic and mysterious Raven walked out to the ring, with 'Sick' Scott Vick, and out stretched his arms in a crucifix pose before slouching down in the corner with a microphone...

RAVEN:  "Different people need different things.  Some people need family, some people need titles, and some people claim to need neither.  Saturn is a prime example.  But I would have to beg to differ, Saturn, I've known you for a long time.  We've been friends.  We've been enemies.  We've been friends.  We've been enemies again.  Saturn swears that he needs nothing or no one.  He doesn't need me, he doesn't need The Flock.  He says he doesn't need anyone but yet he plays to the masses.  He lets them feed him, he lets them dictate his actions.  Well maybe Saturn isn't telling everyone the whole story.  You see, there can only be one, there can only be one who is the best, and Saturn knows he can't beat me.  He knows that I am the best so he seeks refuge in the applause of the fans.  Well, Saturn, I thought I had shown you once that you're nothing without me but you keep coming back for more.  This has to end, Saturn, I don't want to have to keep making you suffer but you've given me no other choice."

["Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson]

Saturn walked out of the entrance with a microphone...

SATURN:  "You're right, Raven, you did teach me a lesson.  You taught me I love kicking your ass more then I could ever imagine.  I'm gonna keep coming back for more, and more, and more until you get back in the ring with me.  You wanna end this?  Its real simple, get in the ring with me at Animosity, Falls-Count-Anywhere!  Bring the Flock, bring anyone you want because when it's all said and done you will be ELIMINATED!"

RAVEN:  "Falls Count Anywhere?  You will feel my pain, Saturn.  Quote the Raven, NEVERMORE!"

Match #4: Taka Michinoku v. Kaz Hayashi - Cruiserweight Cup (Pool B).  "A Touch Of Evil" by AC/DC blared over the speakers as Taka Michinoku headed out to the ring.  Then, "I Don't Mind" by Drain STH blared over the speakers as Kaz Hayashi made his way out to the ring.  Taka made his debut last week with a win over Essa Rios.  This match would be a little more hard hitting then Rey & Candido was earlier and had a lot of near falls throughout.  Both men wanted to start off the Cruiserweight Cup on a winning note.  The ending would see Michinoku go for a Swinging DDT but Hayashi threw him off.  Kaz went out to the apron and came in with a Slingshot DDT but Taka caught him in a powerslam!  Taka crossed Kaz's arms and planted him with a power bomb for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Taka sent Kaz into the corner and came in with a leaping knee smash but Kaz moved and Taka took a big bump over the top to the outside.  Kaz recovered and hit a running cartwheel plancha onto Taka!  Both men were out for an eight count before Kaz rolled Taka in.  Kaz headed up but Taka caught up to him.  Taka grabbed Kaz off the top and walked him into the center of the ring for the Michinoku Driver but Kaz slipped down the back and hit a release dragon suplex!  Kaz headed back up top and came off the Senton Bomb for the one ... two ... THREE!  Kaz Hayashi picks up a big win to go 1-0 over Taka Michinoku!

WINNER: Kaz Hayashi in 12:24.

The Coach got some comments from Goldust about his match tonight against The Sandman...

GOLDUST:  "Just like The Sandman ... another drunk ... Another man who is taking away the attention from me.  I'm the star of this show and tonight I use Steve Austin.  I'm going to use Steve Austin to send a stone cold message to The Sandman that at Animosity, the Final Curtain will be drawn on his career.  And certainly after I beat Steve Austin, no one will ever forget the name of GOLDUST!"

Match #5: Eddy Guerrero & Simon Diamond & Swinger v. Rob Van Dam & The Dudley Boyz.  "Siempre Peligroso" by Cypress Hill blared over the speakers as Eddy Guerrero, Simon Diamond & Swinger made their way out to the ring for six man tag team action.  Then, "Walk" by Pantera blasted over the speakers as 'The Whole F'n Show' Rob Van Dam and the NGW World Tag Team Champions, The Dudley Boyz headed out to the ring.  Rob Van Dam will meet Eddy Guerrero in a few weeks at Animosity while The Dudley Boyz will defend against Simon & Swinger at the event.  This would be solid six man action here.  The ending would see D-Von isolated in the heels corner.  Swinger sent D-Von into the ropes but D-Von came off with a spinning elbowsmash.  Swinger made a tag out to Simon.  Simon rushed over and grabbed D-Von's leg but D-Von kicked him off and made the tag to Buh Buh Ray Dudley!  Buh Buh came in and cleaned house on Simon and Swinger.  Guerrero came in with a dropkick to Buh Buh's back.  Van Dam ran in and took Guerrero to the floor then jumped out with a plancha!  Dawn Marie grabbed one of the tag title belts and slid it into the ring then distracted the referee.  Swinger hit the Swing Thing on D-Von then walked right into a Buh Buh Bomb!  Simon picked up the title belt and waffled Buh Buh in the head with it!  Simon discarded the belt and covered Buh Buh for the one ... two ... THREE!  Simon Diamond steals the pin on Buh Buh Ray Dudley to win this six man for his team!

WINNERS: Eddy Guerrero, Simon Diamond and Swinger in 5:32.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin is shown lacing up his boots when The Sandman enters...

SANDMAN:  "Steve, I need to ask you for a favor..."

AUSTIN:  "What?"

SANDMAN:  "Leave a piece of Goldust for me..."

AUSTIN:  "I won't make any promises but when I'm done whippin' that man's ass ... I'll leave the rest to you."

  Our Main Event is next...

Main Event: Goldust v. Steve Austin.  'Shattered Dreams' sounded over the speakers as 'The Bizarre One' Goldust made his grand entrance for our main event here on Ring Wars.  Then, "Glass Shatters" by Disturbed blasted over the speakers as 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin headed out to the ring.  Austin's knee was looking in better shape here this week.  It was still taped but he wasn't limping much at all.  Goldust sized up Austin as Austin took to the four corners.  Austin came over and flipped Goldust a double bird.  Goldust slid out of the ring then when Austin wasn't looking, Goldust pulled Austin out of the ring and threw him into the guardrail.  Goldust rolled Austin in the ring and came back in.  The bell sounded and the match was on.  Goldust sent Austin into the ropes but Austin came right off with a Thesz Press on Goldust, then hammered on him.  Austin got up and dropped an elbow for two.  Austin slugged away on Goldust until Goldust went to the eyes.  Goldust smashed Austin's head into the turnbuckle then took down the Texas Rattlesnake with a clothesline.  Goldust would have to take the fight right to 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin here.  Austin was 100% focused on Goldust as he knew that Scott Steiner wasn't even in the building tonight.  The closing moments of this match would see Austin go for a german suplex on Goldust but Goldust blocked it with some elbows then caught Austin with a DDT for two.  Goldust set up Austin for a piledriver but Austin countered it with a backdrop.  Austin bounced off the ropes and tried a Thesz Press but Goldust stepped back and hotshotted Austin.  Goldust went for the original Curtain Call but Austin flipped over the back ... spins Goldust around and STUNNER!  Austin covered Goldust for the one ... two ... THREE!  'Stone Cold' Steve Austin takes the win over Goldust and looks extremely focused on Animosity.

WINNER: Steve Austin in 8:48.

Rating: **

Afterwards, Austin got a few beers tossed to him and celebrated.  Austin got a few more and went up to another turnbuckle but Goldust came from behind and drilled Austin low!  Goldust then planted Austin with the Curtain Call.  The Sandman rushed out into the ring with a singapore cane and drilled Goldust in the stomach then right between the eyes!  Goldust staggered around and Austin caught him with another Stunner!  Austin called for some more beers and tossed two to The Sandman!  Austin celebrated on the ropes while Sandman cracked a beer open, downed some and spat it out onto Goldust.  Sandman cracked the other beer and chugged it then busted the can on his forehead.  Sandman raised his cane in the air then we ended with a shot of Austin downing beers in the corner...
