NGW Ring Wars - April 15 / 2002

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation Wrestling superstars such as; Saturn, Too Cold Scorpio, The Sandman, Chris Kanyon, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, The Acolytes, William Regal, Sabu, Eddy Guerrero, Vampiro, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Rob Van Dam, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and more.  This is New Generation Wrestling and this is RING WARS...

We entered the arena with pyro exploding and Joey Styles standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone to kick things off...

STYLES:  "Ladies and gentlemen, would you please join me in welcoming my guest at this time, he is the NGW World Champion ... he is none other then 'BIG POPPA PUMP' SCOTT STEINER!"

["I Need A Freak" by Too $hort]

Midajah led out the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner to the ring.  Steiner stepped into the ring and posed a bit...

STYLES:  "Big Poppa Pump, two weeks ago Rob Van Dam came flying off that top rope with a Five Star Frog Splash onto you and took out Stone Cold with a Van Daminator.  Last week in the Three Way Dance tag team match, not only did Stone Cold pin RVD with a Stunner but he beat you as well.  It looks as if your World Championship is in danger this Sunday..."

STEINER:  "Danger?  The only thing dangerous about this Sunday is steppin' in the ring with Big Poppa Pump.  Do you know what happened with Van Dam and with Stone Cold?  They got lucky cause I was back in the dressing room before the match and my freaks tired out Big Poppa Pump.  That ain't gonna happen this Sunday, my World Championship is in no danger but RVD and Stone Cold's careers are!  No one's taking this World Championship away from the genetic freak, not Rob Van Dam, not Stone Cold Steve Austin, no one!"

STYLES:  "Moving on to later tonight, you have a non-title match against 'The Extreme Icon' The Sandman..."

STEINER:  "That's right ... The Sandman doesn't even compare to me with his beer belly and pathetic self.  He's nowhere close to the physical specimen that I am.  Look at these arms, Joey Styles, they're the largest arms in the world.  I'm gonna send a message tonight ... Not only am I gonna rip The Sandman's head off but I got a little somethin' somethin' for Stone Cold and Rob Van Dam also.  Now get outta my face, I'm done wasting my time, all this trailer park trash is making me sick."

STYLES:  "Just one more question, what'd you have planned?"

STEINER:  "You just watch like all the other losers out there and be mesmerized the same way everyone is when they catch a glimpse of Big Poppa Pump!"

'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner posed a bit more before leaving the ring...

Opening Match: Diamond Dallas Page v. Chris Candido.  "Alive" by P.O.D blared over the speakers as Diamond Dallas Page headed out to the ring for our opening match.  Then, "Back In Black" by AC/DC blared over the speakers as 'No Gimmicks Needed' Chris Candido made his way out to the ring.  Diamond Dallas Page will team up with Eddy Guerrero against Chris Candido and Jason Jett in the Lethal Lottery round at Lord Of The Ring this Sunday.  The ending of this match would see Page go for a Diamond Cutter but Candido shoved him off and used a german suplex for two.  Candido chopped Page but Page returned fire.  DDP caught Candido with a few jabs but Candido ducked the roundhouse clothesline, lifted up DDP and hit a hotshot.  Candido headed up top and came off with a Diving Headbutt but Page rolled out of the way.  Candido got up, clutching his head, and Page hit the Diamond Cutter for the one ... two ... THREE!  Diamond Dallas Page picks up the singles win over Chris Candido!

We cut to a shot of Raven slouched down in a dark corner somewhere in the bowels of the building...

RAVEN:  "Trust, hate, love and faith.  I don't understand social grace, and the human race confuses me.  These words I speak bring forth a world of emotions.  Emotions of dreams lost, dreams found and dreams I'll never see.  So it is written, so it shall come to pass.  But the question is will I or will I not be able to function with TAZ?  But isn't that the same question that I've been asked time and time again since my childhood?  Isn't the question really have I any dreams I'd like to sell?  Quote the Raven, Nevermore!"

Match #2: Raven v. Al Snow.  "Come Out And Play" by Offspring blared over the speakers as Raven headed out to the ring.  Raven sat down in the corner and waited for his opponent.  Then, "Breathe" by Prodigy blared over the speakers as Al Snow made his way out to the ring.  Raven must team up with Taz in the Lethal Lottery round and face Al Snow and William Regal.  This would mainly be a brawl between Raven and Snow.  The ending would see Raven go for a bulldog but Snow shoved him off and hit a superkick for two.  Snow picked up Raven and hit an ocean cyclone suplex for another two count.  Snow scooped up Raven for the Snow Plow but Raven countered it with an inside cradle for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Snow kicked out.  Snow sent Raven into the corner and charged in but met a back elbow from Raven.  Raven hit a bulldog on Snow for two.  Raven went for the Evenflow DDT but Snow tried to counter it with a northern lights suplex but Raven managed to hold on and spike Snow with the Evenflow DDT.  Raven made the cover for the one ... two ... THREE!  Raven picks up the win heading into Lord Of The Ring.  Raven has to be considered one of the favorites if and only if he and Taz can co-exist and that's a big if.

WINNER: Raven in 5:18.

We cut to a shot of a black pickup truck arriving to the arena and out steps 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.  Austin goes to grab his bag from the trunk and Scott Steiner ambushes him from behind!  Steiner drilled Austin in the back with his lead pipe, Austin staggered around and Steiner nailed Austin in the skull!  Stone Cold went down and out.  Steiner then looked at Austin's knee and pulled Austin over to the door of the truck.  Steiner rested Austin's right leg halfway into the car then SLAMMED the door against Austin's knee!  Austin screamed in pain so Steiner, pulled back the door and slammed it once more.  Austin managed to clutch and pull his leg away before Steiner could do it again.  NGW officals rushed over as Steiner laughed at Stone Cold...

Match #3: Simon Diamond v. Jeff Jarrett - Non-Title.  "Simon Says" by Drain STH blasted over the speakers as Dawn Marie led Simon Diamond out to the ring for our next matchup.  Then, "Cowboy" by Kid Rock blared over the speakers as the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett made his way out to the ring.  Jarrett's U.S. Heavyweight Title is not up for grabs here.  However, Jeff Jarrett teams up with Chris Kanyon against Simon Diamond & Swinger in the Lethal Lottery Round.  Jarrett would like to add the Lord Of The Ring to his list of accomplishments while Simon and Swinger have a definate advantage being a well oiled tag team.  The ending of this one would see Jarrett go for a DDT but Simon countered it with a northern lights suplex, Simon held on picking Jarrett up and hitting a snap suplex, Simon kept ahold of Jarrett, picked him up again and dropped him with a front-layout suplex!  He calls that the Simon Series.  Simon picked up Jarrett for the Simonizer but Jarrett dropped out and grabbed a sleeper.  Dawn Marie got up on the apron to distract Jarrett.  Simon shoved Jarrett off into the ropes, ducked down, Jarrett ran over then crashed into Dawn Marie.  Simon picked up Jarrett and went for the Simonizer but Jarrett countered out of the inverted facelock part and hit the Stroke on Simon Diamond for the one ... two ... THREE!  'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett picks up the win!

WINNER: Jeff Jarrett in 6:21.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin was shown sitting on a stretcher with EMTs testing out his knee.  Austin was in serious pain with every movement and the EMTs told him that he's got to go to the hospital and get it checked out.

AUSTIN:  "I'm not goin' to a damn hospital!  I'm gonna whip Scott Steiner's ass!"

Austin got up but as soon as he put weight on the right knee, it gave out.  The EMTs sat Austin back down on the stretcher and demanded he got get it checked out...

AUSTIN:  "FINE!  Scott Steiner, rest assured, hell or high water, I will be there this Sunday and I will give you an ass whipping the likes of which you've never seen."

The Coach got some comments from 'The Whole F'N Show' Rob Van Dam about Stone Cold's apparent knee injury.

VAN DAM:  "Big Poppa Pump likes to talk a lotta smack but all I know is that Rob Van Dam can beat Scott Steiner.  I wanna beat Stone Cold, too after last week but if Stone Cold can't go at Lord Of The Ring, I guess I'll just have to go one-on-one with Big Poppa Pump.  That's cool because any way you look at it, everybody's favorite wrestler ... Rob Van Dam ... is walking out this Sunday as the World Champion!"

All of a sudden Van Dam was blindsided by Scott Steiner.  Steiner drilled Van Dam in the gut with the pipe then threw him head first into the makeshift set.  NGW officials were quicker to arrive this time but the damage had been done.  Steiner's out of control...

Match #5: William Regal & The Acolytes v. Taz & The Dudley Boyz.  "British Doom" by Jim Johnston sounded over the speakers as William Regal made his way out to the ring first.  "El Cu Cuy" by Coal Chamber blasted over the speakers as the NGW World Tag Team Champions, The Acolytes headed out to the ring.  Then, "War Machine" blared over the speakers as 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz walked out to the ring.  "Turn The Tables" by Saliva brought his tag team partners, The Dudley Boyz to the ring.  Taz will team with Raven in the Lethal Lottery Round against William Regal and Al Snow.  The Acolytes defend their World Tag Team Titles against The Dudley Boyz in a Double Tables match.  This would be solid six man tag action heading into Lord Of The Ring.  The ending would see Faarooq catch D-Von with a shoulderblock.  Faarooq sent D-Von into the ropes for the Spinebuster but D-Von came off with a spinning elbowsmash.  D-Von then planted Faarooq with the Reverse Neckbreaker!  D-Von covered for the one ... two ... THR ...   The Coach got some comments from Too Cold Scorpio regarding his teaming with Goldust this Sunday at Lord Of The Ring against Sandman and Nova, plus his singles match with Goldust in a few moments...

SCORPIO:  "Last week that punk Goldust said that I had to make a choice.  No, I don't gotta make any choices.  The choice is for Goldust to keep gettin' punked out or stop messin' with Sandman's family.  I'll team with Goldust this Sunday and I'll go at The Sandman cause that Lord Of The Ring is mine.  But first, I'm gotta beat that freak's ass tonight!  Don't worry Goldust, I'll leave a little left for this Sunday so you can make it through the match...."

Match #6: Goldust v. Too Cold Scorpio.  "Shattered Dreams" sounded over the speakers as 'The Bizzare One' Goldust made his grand entrance.  Then, "Whoomp! There It Is" by Tag Team blared over the speakers as Too Cold Scorpio.  These two men must team up this Sunday at Lord Of The Ring and attempt to co-exist enough to defeat The Sandman and Nova in the Lethal Lottery Round.  However, Scorpio wanted a piece of Goldust tonight and he'd get it here.  With Sandman pre-occupied with preparing for Big Poppa Pump tonight, Goldust didn't have to keep looking over his shoulder and could concentrate on Scorpio.  The ending would see Goldust hit some punches in the corner then pull Scorpio out.  Goldust went for a suplex but Scorpio dropped down the back and rolled up Goldust for two.  Goldust got up and went for a short lariat but Scorpio ducked then bounced off the ropes and went for a spinning heel kick but Goldust ducked and Scorpio hit the referee!  Goldust caught Scorpio with a jawbreaker.  Goldust setup Scorpio in the corner then OUCH! Nailed him with the Shattered Dreams kick!  Goldust pulled Scorpio out and planted him with the Curtain Call ... the referee crawled over and counted the one ... two ... THREE!  Goldust takes the win!

WINNER: Goldust in 5:07.

Rating: * 1/2

Afterwards, Goldust stayed down close to Scorpio told him that he made the wrong choice and its his own fault he's a loser...

Main Event: Scott Steiner v. The Sandman - Non-Title.  "I Need A Freak" by Too $hort blared over the speakers as Midajah led out the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner for this non-title Main Event.  Steiner's wrath has been felt here tonight as he injured Stone Cold's right knee by ambushing him with a pipe then slamming Austin's knee with a truck door twice.  Austin was taken against his will to the hospital after he couldn't put any weight on the knee.  Steiner's fury didn't stop there as he jumped Rob Van Dam during an interview and took him out as well.  "Enter Sandman" by Metallica blasted over the speakers as 'The Extreme Icon' The Sandman made his way out to the ring.  Steiner heads into a huge defence of the NGW World Championship against Rob Van Dam and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin in a Three Way Dance at Lord Of The Ring.  Steiner's odds increased greatly here tonight with his attacks on Austin and RVD.  The Sandman heads into the Lethal Lottery teaming with Nova against Goldust and Too Cold Scorpio with a shot to move onto BattleBowl and become the Lord Of The Ring.  Steiner and Sandman slugged it out in a slow brawl.  Sandman can take a lot of punishment and Scott Steiner can sure dish out a lot of punishment.  That's exactly what happened in this one as Sandman took everything Steiner threw at him and somehow kept getting up.  The closing moments of the match would see Steiner go for a belly-to-belly suplex but Sandman bit the forehead of Steiner and hit a DDT in desperation.  Sandman draped an arm over Steiner for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Steiner kicked out!  Sandman got up and traded shots with Steiner.  Steiner got the better of Sandman, sent him into the ropes and went for a Steinerline but Sandman ducked then hit a White Russian Legsweep!  Sandman headed up to the top and came off with the Flying Legdrop!  Steiner moves!  Steiner drilled Sandman with a Steinerline.  Steiner picked up Sandman and spiked him with a power bomb!  Steiner picked Sandman back up and hit a double underhook power bomb!  Steiner picked up Sandman once more and hit a top-rope samoan drop crushing The Sandman!  Steiner turned Sandman over and locked him in the Steiner Recliner!  Sandman's out of it, the arm is lifted, it drops three times.  That's it!  "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner is dominant in his win over The Sandman.  Sandman put up a great fight but Steiner's on top of his game.

WINNER: Scott Steiner in 10:09.

Rating: * 3/4

Afterwards, Scott Steiner walked around and posed with the NGW World Championship for a bit.  That was until Rob Van Dam hit the ring!  RVD's up top and catches Steiner with a flying kick!  Van Dam looked at Steiner then hit a rolling thunder!  Van Dam pointed to himself then went over to pick up Steiner but Steiner drilled Van Dam low!  Steiner then planted Van Dam with a double underhook power bomb!  Steiner turned Van Dam over and locked him in the Steiner Recliner!  Steiner locked it in real good.  Numerous NGW officials ran out but Steiner wouldn't release the hold.  We ended with a shot of the officials trying to pry Steiner off of Rob Van Dam.  Big Poppa Pump has desimated his challengers for the World Championship at Lord Of The Ring this Sunday!
