NGW Ring Wars - March 25 / 2002

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation Wrestling superstars such as; The Sandman, Too Cold Scorpio, DDP, Chris Kanyon, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, The Acolytes, William Regal, Sabu, Vampiro, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Rob Van Dam, Scott Steiner, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and more.  This is New Generation Wrestling RING WARS...

["Hell Yeah" by Disturbed]

We kicked things right off with the glass shattering and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin heading out to the ring.  Stone Cold beat both William Regal and Vampiro in a Three Way Dance last night guranteeing him a shot at the World Champion at Lord Of The Ring.  The Texas Rattlesnake took the microphone...

AUSTIN:  "When I said that no one could stand in between 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and the World Championship I meant it.  I rolled into Philadelphia last night and I beat not one.  What?  But two sumbitches asses all over this ring.  First it was William Regal that tasted the Stone Cold Stunner and then it was Vampiro.  It don't matter who you are, where you're from or what your name is, when you're standing in this ring across from Stone Cold Steve Austin, your ass belongs to me, bottom line.  So in a few weeks I've got my chance at that no good piece of trash, Scott Steiner.  Big Poppa Pump is one tough son of a bitch but he's been ducking Stone Cold.  The date is set for April 21st and there ain't nobody that can stand in my way of whipping your ass!  That World Championship shot belongs to Stone Cold and there ain't nobody who can change that.  So to Scott Steiner I say this ... do a few extra bicep curls, pushups, sit ups, chin ups, leg presses, do it all because it's all you'll have once Stone Cold Steve Austin whips your candy ass and takes that World Championship and that's the bottom line..."

["Walk" by Pantera]

Stone Cold was interrupted in mid-sentence as 'The Whole F'n Show' Rob Van Dam walked out of the entrance.  Van Dam's forehead was bandaged and he looked sore after last night's brutal encounter with Big Poppa Pump.  Van Dam stepped into the ring and took a microphone...

AUSTIN:  "Who the hell do you think you are coming out here and interrupting Stone Cold Steve Austin?"

VAN DAM:  "I'm Rob Van Dam ... that's who!  You did one hell of a job last night and you earned a shot at Big Poppa Pump but I'm out here tonight because I want ... no, I deserve another crack at Steiner!"

AUSTIN:  "You had your shot last night now I've got mine and there ain't a damn thing you can do about but how about I whip your ass just for interrupting me?"

VAN DAM:  "I'd like to see you try.  You wanna whip my ass?  Let's have a match later tonight and I will beat you because I'm the WHOLE F'N SHOW!"

AUSTIN:  "You want a match with Stone Cold?  WHAT?  You think you're gonna beat me?  WHAT?"

VAN DAM:  "If you were a man you'd put your shot at Scott Steiner on the line."

Stone Cold kicked Van Dam in the gut and drilled him with a Stunner!  Austin picked up the microphone and got down in Van Dam's face...

AUSTIN:  "Listen to me you sumbitch, I don't care if you're R-V-D or not, nobody talks to Stone Cold Steve Austin that way.  What you've got now is a match later tonight with the world's toughest son of a bitch with a shot at the World Champion on the line and that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold Said So!"

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin versus Rob Van Dam here tonight with the shot at the World Champion up for grabs?  What a huge Main Event...

Opening Match: The Flock v. Evolution.  "Terrible Lie" by Nine Inch Nails blared over the speakers as The Flock's 'Dangerous' Devon Storm and 'Sick' Scott Vick made their way out to the ring.  Then, "Intergalactic" by Beastie Boys blasted over the speakers as Evolution headed out to the ring.  These two teams have had an ongoing rivalry with Evolution coming out on top in a six man tag last night at March Madness against The Flock.  The ending would see Nova hit an armtrap rocker dropper on Storm.  Nova took Storm up top for a belly-to-belly superplex but Storm shoved him off.  Storm jumped off with a splash but Nova rolled out of the way.  Nova picked up Storm and spiked him with the Kryptonite Krunch for the one ... two ... THR ... NO! Scott Vick breaks up the pin!  Jason Jett came in but Vick got the better of a slugfest and sent Jett into the ropes but Jett came off with a handspring elbow sending Vick out to the floor!  Jett then jumped out onto him with a plancha!  Storm's up and catches Nova with the Mind Bender!  Storm covers Nova for the one ... two ... THREE!  Devon Storm surpries Nova and grabs the win for The Flock!

WINNER: The Flock in 5:07.

The Coach got some comments from the newest member of New Generation Wrestling, Eddy Guerrero.  Guerrero showed up last night and helped Jeff Jarrett retain the NGW United States Heavyweight Title...

GUERRERO:  "You're probably wondering what Eddy Guerrero is doing here?  I'm here because I did everything there was to do where I was before, it got boring.  I want a new challenge, I want a new place where I can show everyone that I'm the single best wrestler in the world today.  Now why did I help Jeff Jarrett?  I was simply helping out an old friend.  Ya see, Taz is nothin' more then a thug.  He doesn't deserve to be in the ring with true professional wrestlers like myself and Jeff Jarrett.  We shouldn't be having to fight off thugs and Taz doesn't deserve to be the US Heavyweight Title so all I was doing was making things right!  Now I gotta show that nadie es mejor entonces Eddy Guerrero!"

Match #2: Eddy Guerrero v. Kaz Hayashi.  "Siempre Peligroso" by Cypress Hill blared over the speakers as Eddy Guerrero made his way out to the ring for his NGW debut.  Then, "I Don't Mind" by Drain STH blared over the speakers as Kaz Hayashi of the Jung Dragons headed out to the ring. Guerrero shockingly showed up last night at March Madness helping Jeff Jarrett retain the US Heavyweight Title over Taz because according to Guerrero, Taz didn't deserve to be champion.  A great debut match here for Eddy Guerrero as he mixed it up with Kaz Hayashi.  The ending would see Guerrero slam down Kaz and go out to the apron.  Guerrero came in with a slingshot somersault senton but Kaz rolled out to the apron.  Kaz then came in with a slingshot DDT for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Guerrero kicked out!  Kaz picked up Eddy and went for a gutwrench power bomb but Eddy counters it with a huracanrana for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Kaz kicked out!  Guerrero went for a lariat but Kaz ducked and hit a dragon suplex for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Eddy got a shoulder up!  Kaz headed up top and came off with the Senton Bomb but Guerrero moves!  Guerrero picked up Hayashi and spiked him with a brain buster.  Eddy to the top and Frog Splash!  One ... two ... THREE!  Eddy Guerrero is victorious in his debut!

WINNER: Eddy Guerrero in 6:15:

Rating: *** 3/4

The Coach is with the NGW Commissioner, 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels, who had an announcement to make...

MICHAELS:  "I wanted to make an announcement concerning NGW Lord Of The Ring live on Pay-Per-View on April 21st in Long Island.  The show will be based around the Lethal Lottery and BattleBowl to determine the first ever NGW Lord Of The Ring.  Long time wrestling fans will remember this concept but for newer fans I will explain.  Next week ten teams will be chosen at random making five tag team matches for the Pay-Per-View.  The winners of those matches move onto BattleBowl, which is an over the top rope battle royal.  The winner of that will lay claim as the Lord Of The Ring.  So next week I will announce the teams which were determined by the Lethal Lottery."

Match #3: Simon Diamond & Swinger v. The Dudley Boyz - Number One Contenders.  "Simon Says" by Drain STH blared over the speakers as Dawn Marie led Simon Diamond and Swinger out to the ring.  Then, "Dead Cell" by Papa Roach blared over the speakers as The Dudley Boyz headed out to the ring.  The winners here will go onto Lord Of The Ring to challenge for the NGW World Tag Team Titles.  The Dudley Boyz went down to The Acolytes last night in a really close hard fought match and have an opportunity here to get another shot Faarooq and Bradshaw but Simon Diamond and Swinger also want a crack at tag team gold.  The ending would see D-Von go for a Reverse Neckbreaker on Swinger but Swinger held onto the ropes and made the tag to Simon Diamond.  Swinger and Simon double teamed on D-Von until Buh Buh came in.  Buh Buh hammered on Simon but Swinger came from behind and went for the Swing Thing but Buh Buh elbowed him off and hit a Buh Buh Bomb!  Swinger rolled out of the ring in pain.  Buh Buh went for a Buh Buh Bomb on Simon but Simon back kicked.  D-Von then caught Simon with a Reverse Neckbreaker for the one ... two ... THR ... NO! Simon Diamond kicked out!  Dawn Marie got up on the apron and distracted D-Von.  D-Von grabbed her and Simon drilled D-Von from behind.  Simon went to send D-Von into the ropes but D-Von reversed it ... Buh Buh is up ... 3D on Simon!  D-Von covers for the one ... two ... THREE!  The Dudley Boyz will get another shot at the World Tag Team Champions!

WINNERS: The Dudley Boyz in 5:40.

Rating: * 1/4

["Enter Sandman" by Metallica]

'The Extreme Icon' The Sandman headed out of the entrance and down into the ring.  Sandman guzzled a beer then took a microphone...

SANDMAN:  "I know Goldust isn't here tonight.  I'm dissapointed too.  I wanted to rip him another a-hole tonigh just like I did last night.  Goldust, I know somewhere you're watching this while you try and heal those wounds I gave you last night.  You wanna get personal?  You wanna bring my family into this?  WELL LET'S GET PERSONAL, DUSTIN!  We all know behind that facepaint sits Dustin Rhodes, the son of Dusty.  What we don't know is why every so often you slip into this sick, twisted persona of Goldust.  But I'm gonna take it upon myself to beat the GOLDUST outta ya!  I'm gonna get my family back but first I'm gonna sink to your level, Goldust.  I'm gonna get personal with you because I've found myself a little equalizer.  You wanna bring ex-wives into this?  Well let's bring out yours..."

["Cinnamon Girl" by Type O Negative]

Out of the entrance walked ... Terri!  Terri walked out into the ring and stood next to The Sandman.  Terri then leaned against the ropes as Sandman cracked a beer and poured it all over her chest then kissed her.

SANDMAN:  "How's it feel, Goldust?  HUH?  How do ya like that?  You know what I'm gonna do?  I'm gonna get inside that sick, twisted head and find out what makes you tick and I'm gonna make YOUR life a living hell!"

TERRI:  "A lot of you are probably wondering what Goldust is all about and who would know better then me?  Right?  Well I thought I knew what Goldust was all about.  Dustin kept telling me that Goldust was just an act that he was using to throw his opponents off base but its no act.  He's screwed in the head, there's something wrong with that man.  He's gone too far and that's why I'm gonna help The Sandman do whatever he needs to do to get Goldust off his back and get his family back.  Goldust has gotta go ... you sick freak!"

Enter Sandman hit again as The Sandman and Terri left the ring together...

Match #4: Raven v. Vampiro.  "Come Out And Play" by Offspring blared over the speakers as Raven headed out to the ring.  Then, "Kong At The Gates" by The Misfits sounded over the speakers as 'The Dark Angel' Vampiro stalked his way out to the ring.  Raven caught a break last night after Sabu injured his leg then Raven connected with a chairshot and an Evenflow DDT on the chair to pin 'The Human Highlight Reel'.  Vampiro made an impressive showing in the Three Way Dance but ended up going down to Stone Cold in the final fall.  The ending would see Raven go for a bulldog but Vampiro threw him off.  Vampiro went for a superkick but Raven dodged it and Vampiro connected with the referee.  Raven caught Vampiro with a russian legsweep.  Sabu limped out with a chair in hand, looking for revenge against Raven.  Kanyon ran out and drilled Sabu from behind.  Raven picked up the chair, turned around and drilled Vampiro in the head with it!  Raven then spiked Vampiro with the Evenflow DDT ... the referee crawled over and counted the one ... two ... THREE!  Raven steals another win!

WINNER: Raven in 5:21.

We see a long black limousine pull up to the arena and out of it steps about five scantily clad women then Midajah and finally the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner.  Big Poppa Pump is in the house...

Match #5: Too Cold Scorpio v. Taz.  "Whoomp! There It Is" by Tag Team blared over the speakers as Too Cold Scorpio made his way out to the ring.  Then, "War Machine" blared over the speakers as 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz walked out to the ring.  Scorpio's coming off a win over Diamond Dallas Page last night while Taz looked to have the US Heavyweight Title won until Eddy Guerrero showed up.  Taz and Scorpio fought it out here back and forth in a solid match.  The ending would see Taz go for a Head & Arm Tazplex but Scorpio blocked it and headbutted Taz.  Scorpio planted Taz with a diving power bomb.  Scorpio headed up top and came off with a moonsault but Taz rolled out of the way.  Taz went for the Tazmission but Scorpio ducked out.  Scorpio kicked Taz and went for a suplex but Taz dropped down the back and locked Scorpio in the Tazmission!  Scorpio had no choice but to tap out!  Taz gets back on the winning track!

WINNER: Taz in 4:50.

Rating: ** 3/4

After the match, Taz went out of the ring and took the microphone from Finkel...

TAZ:  "I got robbed last night and somebody has to pay.  I don't care if its Jeff Jarrett or Eddy Guerrero but one of those two punks better step up and face me next week or I'll come back there and bust ya both up!  This ain't about titles, this is about somebody gettin' what's comin to them and that's gettin' CHOKED OUT by the one man crime spree!"

["Cowboy" by Kid Rock]

The NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett walked out onto the stage...

JARRETT:  "Hold up just a damn minute, slapnuts!  Who the hell do you think you are to challenge The Chosen One or Eddy Guerrero to any type of match?  You got exactly what you deserved last night because as Eddy said earlier, you're nothing but a thug and a thug doesn't deserve to be the US Heavyweight Champion!"

TAZ:  "Who am I to challenge you?  I'm TAZ!  I'm the man that's gonna walk up that ramp and take your oxygen if you don't give me a match next week!"

JARRETT:  "Fine then you find yourself a damn tag team partner and face me and Eddy Guerrero next week!  If you wanna keep losing to The Chosen One then that's your business but sooner or later you're gonna realize that you're nothing but The Chosen One's ... bitch!"

Taz charged up the ramp after Jarrett but Jarrett had already bolted backstage and away from Taz...

We cut to a split screen shot of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and 'The Whole F'N Show' Rob Van Dam walking through the back then we cut to a shot of 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner also heading out.  Our Main Event is next...

Main Event: Steve Austin v. Rob Van Dam - NGW World Championship Shot @ Lord Of The Ring.  "I Am Hated" by SlipKnot blasted over the speakers and the NGW World Champion, "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner headed out and joined Styles and Heyman at ringside.  Steiner said he was ready to kick Austin's ass but if Van Dam wins then he'll have fun beating the hell out of him again.  "Hell Yeah" by Disturbed blasted over the speakers as 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin headed out to the ring.  Then, "Walk" by Pantera blared over the speakers as 'The Whole F'N Show' Rob Van Dam made his way out to the ring.  Van Dam was still showing some effects of the pipe shots laid into him by Scott Steiner last night but Van Dam is known for his high threshold for pain.  The winner here will go onto Lord Of The Ring to challenge Scott Steiner for the NGW World Championship.  Van Dam went for a lockup but Austin just hammered RVD with punches.  Austin backed RVD into the corner and pounded him down then stomped a mudhole in him.  Austin pointed to himself mocking RVD.  Austin pulled RVD out and went for a kick but Van Dam caught the foot, stepped over and drilled him with a spinning heel kick.  Van Dam punched Austin in the corner, Austin fired back with chops.  Austin sent RVD across the ring and charged in, RVD gets a foot up.  RVD goes to the top but Austin shoved him off and down to the floor!  Austin headed out and brawled with Van Dam on the floor.  Austin got the better and rolled RVD into the ring.  Austin took Van Dam up top and hammered on him.  Austin went up and went for a superplex but RVD countered on top with a crossbody for two.  Stone Cold and Rob Van Dam battled it out in a really good match showing how much both men want to face the World Champion.  The closing moments of the match would see Austin and Van Dam slugging it out.  Austin sent Van Dam into the ropes but Van Dam came off with a spinning heel kick.  Van Dam went for the rolling thunder but Austin got the knees up and rolled RVD over for two. Austin questioned the referee's count, RVD sprung to his feet and drilled Stone Cold with a spin kick.  Van Dam hopped up top but Austin kicked the ropes, crotching Van Dam up top.  Austin went up for a superplex, fighting with RVD on top.  Van Dam shoved Austin down the mat and comes off with the FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH!  It misses!  Austin rolled out of the way.  Austin got to his feet and waited on Van Dam ... kick ... STUNNER!  NO!  Van Dam shoves Austin off.  Van Dam goes for a spin kick ... Austin ducks ... german suplex by Austin with a bridge ... one ... two ... THREE!  Stone Cold has won it with a german suplex ... wait, no, the referee's not raising Austin's hand.  The referee consults with the ring announcer and its announced that both Austin and RVD's shoulders were counted down to the mat for a double pin!
