NGW Ring Wars - March 11 / 2002

-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-

We started with a clip of Rob Van Dam winning the Three Way Dance last week.  'The Whole F'n Show' is on a collision course with the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner with the title on the line at March Madness on the 24th...

"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation Wrestling superstars such as; The Sandman & Too Cold Scorpio, DDP, Chris Kanyon, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, William Regal, Sabu, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Rob Van Dam, Scott Steiner, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and more.  This is New Generation Wrestling RING WARS...

We entered the arena with Joey Styles and Paul Heyman welcoming us to the show thirteen days away from March Madness.  The card is starting to take shape with Scott Steiner versus Rob Van Dam for the NGW World Championship on top.  Tonight, we have a big tag team Main Event as the NGW World Champion, SCOTT STEINER teams with the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, JEFF JARRETT against ROB VAN DAM and TAZ.  All that and much more here tonight on Ring Wars...

Opening Match: Simon Diamond & Swinger v. Evan Karagias & Jamie Knoble.  "Simon Says" by Drain STH blared over the speakers as Dawn Marie led her team of Simon Diamond & Swinger out to the ring to kick things off here tonight.  Then, "You Know Its Hard" by Crystal Method sounded over the speakers as Evan Karagias and Jamie Knoble headed out to the ring.  Two good tag teams here looking to step over the other and climb up the ranks of the tag team division.  The ending would see Simon use a northern lights suplex on Knoble for two.  Simon made the tag out to Swinger and they went for the Problem Solver but Karagias came in and hit a sleeper slam on Simon.  Knoble scooped up Swinger and spiked him with the Tombstone Piledriver for the one ... two ... THREE!  Evan Karagias & Jamie Knoble take the win over Simon & Swinger to open things tonight.

WINNERS: Evan Karagias & Jamie Knoble in 5:18.

Rating: ** 3/4

['Oh! Oh! Shawn!']

The legend ... The icon ... The showstopper ... The NGW Commissioner, 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels stepped out of the entrance looking to be in a good mood.  Michaels headed out into the ring and took a microphone...

MICHAELS:  "I gotta come out here tonight and do something I didn't think was possible.  I gotta give 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner a compliment.  Ya see, Steiner, you had a good idea with that Three Way Dance where the winner gets a shot at the World Champion.  It was such a good idea ... I'm gonna steal it.  See Steiner, you and William Regal thought you had it all figured out.  I hate to break it to ya but you were wrong.  Seeing as Regal likes to get involved so much ... at March Madness there will be another Three Way Dance.  In one corner it'll be William Regal ... in another, 'The Dark Angel' Vampiro and in the third corner ... 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin!  And the winner?  Well he'll go onto Lord Of The Ring in April to meet the World Champion.  Thank you..."

Match #2: Allan Funk v. Al Snow.  "Psycho Man" by Black Sabbath blasted over the speakers as 'Angry' Allan Funk headed out to the ring.  Then, "Breathe" by Prodigy blared over the speakers as Al Snow made his way out to the ring.  The newcomer with the short temper was looking to upset the veteran and make a name for himself in this one.  However, Snow had plans of his own and was looking to get back on a roll.  The ending would see Funk hammer Snow in the corner then pull him out for a DDT.  Snow countered it with an inverted atomic drop then scooped up Funk for the Snow Plow.  Funk slid down the back and hit a back suplex.  Funk went up to the second turnbuckle and came off with an elbowdrop but Snow rolled out of the way.  Snow hit an ocean cyclone suplex for 2 1/2.  Snow went for a superkick but Funk caught the foot, spun Snow around, kicked him and went for the Revenge Bomb.  Snow dropped out, scooped up Funk and planted him with the Snow Plow for the one ... two ... THREE!  Al Snow picks up the hard fought win.

WINNER: Al Snow in 4:26.

The Coach approached the NGW World Tag Team Champions, The Acolytes who were playing some poker and smoking cigars...

COACH:  "Faarooq, Bradshaw ... Last week you lost to The Dudley Boyz but luckily for you it was a non-title match.  However, the match has been signed for March Madness, you will defend the World Tag Team Titles against The Dudley Boyz.  Your comments?"

BRADSHAW:  "What the hell are you thinking asking us a question like that?  Those damn Dudley Boyz got lucky.  That's all them boys are is lucky.  They caught us with our guard down, it happened once it won't happen again."

FAAROOQ:  "We don't gotta prove ourselves to no one around here.  We're gonna beat the Dudley Boyz so bad that Buh Buh will be back st ... st ... stuttering and D-Von will be white."

BRADSHAW:  "We've got another non-title match in just a few moments ... You want a preview to March Madness?  We'll give you a damn preview!"

Bradshaw and Faarooq got up, grabbed their belts and stormed off...

Match #3: Danny Doring & Roadkill v. The Acolytes - Non-Title.  "Super Bon Bon" by Soul Coughing blared over the speakers as 'Dastardly' Danny Doring & Roadkill headed out to the ring.  Then, "El Cu Cuy" by Coal Chamber blasted over the speakers as the NGW World Tag Team Champions, The Acolytes stormed out to the ring.  Bradshaw and Faarooq threw down the belts and went right after Doring and Roadkill, looking to prove a point after their loss to The Dudley Boyz last week.  Bradshaw hammered on Doring in one corner while Faarooq pounded down Roadkill in the other.  Bradshaw whipped Doring across the ring right into a vicious Spinebuster from Faarooq.  Faarooq kicked Roadkill then whipped him into a brutal Clothesline From Hell by Bradshaw!  The Acolytes weren't done, though.  They picked up Doring and planted him with a Stuff Power Bomb!  Then they sent Roadkill into the ropes and hit a Double Spinebuster!  Bradshaw put a foot on Roadkill while Faarooq put one on Doring for the one-two-THREE!  The Acolytes have run through Danny Doring & Roadkill.  Look out Dudley Boyz...

WINNERS: The Acolytes in 1:01.

The Coach got some comments from 'The Whole F'n Show' Rob Van Dam...

VAN DAM:  "So let me get this straight ... tonight it'll be everybody's favorite wrestler ... R-V-D and 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz teaming up against Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett?  Sounds cool to me.  Steiner, I can wait thirteen days to take that title away from you but I what I can't wait for is to flat out kick your ass.  I know, I know, when you're Big Poppa Pump with the freaky big muscles you think you can kick anybody's ass, you think you're the best in the world but when you're Rob Van Dam, you don't think you're the best ... You know you're the best!"

'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz walks up to Van Dam...

TAZ:  "We ain't never seen eye to eye, we ain't never gonna be friends but we gotta a job to do tonight.  You take Steiner, I got Jarrett and if we can work together there's no way those two can survive!"

VAN DAM:  "I know you can hold up your end of the team in that ring so you're cool with me."

Van Dam and Taz touch fists then walk off...

We cut to Mike Tenay who gets some comments from Bill Alfonso and 'The Human Highlight Reel' Sabu...

ALFONSO:  "If Raven and his stupid Flock want to jump on Sabu, they don't know what they're in for, daddy.  This right here is the most homicidal, suicidal, genocidal man to ever step foot in that ring and that's just somethin' that the Flock and Raven can't handle.  Raven!  Sabu accepts your challenge, even if you're trying to duck Saturn, you've made a mistake cause Sabu is gonna tear you apart, daddy!"

Match #4: William Regal v. Sabu.  "British Doom" by Jim Johnston blared over the speakers as William Regal headed out to the ring.  Then, "Little Crazy" by Fight blared over the speakers as Bill Alfonso led out 'The Human Highlight Reel' Sabu.  We found out earlier that William Regal will compete in a Three Way Dance at March Madness against Vampiro and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin while Sabu will go one-on-one with the enigmatic Raven.  This was a complete clash of styles between Regal and Sabu resulting in slow match with Regal hammering down Sabu on the mat and stretching him with various submissions.  The ending would see Regal go for a double underhook powerbomb but Sabu countered it with a frankensteiner.  Regal backed into the corner and Sabu came in with an Air Sabu!  Sabu then DDT'd Regal for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Sabu called for the chair from Fonzie but that's when RAVEN jumped over the guardrail, spun Fonzie around and hit an Evenflow DDT on the floor!  The referee got distracted allowing Regal time to go into his trunks and put on the brass knuckles.  Sabu turned around and Regal clocked him with the knux for the one ... two ... THREE!  William Regal has stolen a win over Sabu with those dangerous brass knuckles!

WINNER: William Regal in 5:45.

The Coach got some comments from Too Cold Scorpio...

SCORPIO:  "Sure, it pissed me off when Goldust came out and cost me and Sandman the World Tag Team Titles but I'll get over it.  Unfortunatly for Goldust, Sandman won't get over it ... ever.  This was the biggest mistake of that freaks life.  So when he steps into that ring tonight in this tag team match ... he may not make it out alive."

  Diamond Dallas Page cuts in...

DDP:  "Hey ... it's me, it's me, it's D-D-P!  Forget for a minute that I'm teaming with Goldust tonight against you and The Sandman, forget about that.  I just wanted to talk to you about something I saw last week when you stood up and fought Goldust.  Normally it would be a good thing to stick up for your friends but for you ... it was a BAD THING!  You know why it was a bad thing?  Because you lost!"

SCORPIO:  "Not only am I going to beat you out there tonight ... now, I'm gonna kick your ass!  And that'll be a GOOD! GOOD! Thing!"

Match #5: The Sandman & Too Cold Scorpio v. Goldust & Diamond Dallas Page.  "Enter Sandman" by Metallica blasted over the speakers as 'The Extreme Icon' The Sandman and Too Cold Scorpio made their way out to the ring for our next match.  Sandman just wasn't himself, he was angry and looked ready to explode at the sight of Goldust, the man who has asserted himself into The Sandman's personal life.  Then, "Helping Hand" by StainD brought Diamond Dallas Page out to the ring.  "Shattered Dreams" sounded over the speakers but there was no Goldust, instead the bizarre one came on the big screen...

'24 Karat Pictures Presents ... A Shattered Dreams Production ... GOLDUST!'

GOLDUST:  "Come out, come out wherever you are.  Oh, so sad, Sandman.  I bet you just can't wait to get your hands on me and I can't wait to get my hands all over you but I will wait.  I will wait thirteen days until March Madness for our big production.  The lights will be on, the cameras will be rolling and it will time for action!  I have left you a mentally beaten man and at March Madness, I will leave you a physically beaten man and you will never forget the name of ... GOLDUST!"

The lights came back on in the arena and Diamond Dallas Page spun The Sandman around and hit a Diamond Cutter!  The referee rang the bell and counted the one ... two ... THR ... Scorpio breaks the count!  DDP was so close to stealing the early win but he didn't and now he was on his own against Sandman and Scorpio with Goldust apparently backing out of tonight's match.  I guess the golden one has gotten a case of the limber tail after the whipping The Sandman gave him last week.  Scorpio and DDP battled for most of this match while Sandman recovered from the Diamond Cutter on the apron.  The ending would see Scorpio go for a frankensteiner but Page turned it into a spinning power bomb for two.  DDP went over and shoved Sandman off the apron.  Page went for a Diamond Cutter but Scorpio shoved him off.  Sandman tripped up Page from the floor.  Scorpio knocked DDP to the outside where Sandman picked him up and hit a DDT on the concrete.  Sandman rolled DDP in, Scorpio went up top and hit the Tumbleweed for the one ... two ... THREE!  DDP put up a good fight but had no chance after the no-show of his partner!

WINNERS: The Sandman & Too Cold Scorpio in 5:25.

We cut outside of the arena to see a black pickup truck pull up to the arena and out stepped 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.  Stone Cold wasn't scheduled to be here tonight but we should all know by now that Austin does what he wants...

The NGW World Champion, Scott Steiner and the NGW U.S. Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett are shown talking in a dressing room...

STEINER:  "Jeff, I know you got my back out there tonight."

JARRETT:  "There's a reason we're Champions and there's a reason that Rob Van Dam and Taz aren't.  Let's go out there and show once again why we hold the gold around here."

STEINER:  "You'd think Van Dam would've learned not to get in the ring with me ... I know that inside him he's dead afraid of stepping in that ring because he knows I can snap him in half."

Match #6: Chris Kanyon v. Saturn.  "Immune" by Godsmack blared over the speakers as Chris Kanyon headed out to the ring for our next matchup.  Then, "Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson blasted over the speakers as Saturn made his way out to the ring.  Saturn has vowed to systematically dismantle the Flock in an attempt to take out Raven.  Kanyon is Raven's right hand man and the most dangerous man in the Flock.  The ending would see Saturn go for a brain buster but Kanyon blocked it and hit a swinging fisherman suplex for two.  Kanyon went for a thrust kick but Saturn ducked and hit a savate kick of his own.  Saturn went up top and hit a flying elbowdrop for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Kanyon got a shoulder up!  Scott Vick and Devon Storm ran out and jumped up on the apron but Evolution raced out after them and pulled them down.  However this momentary distraction allowed Kanyon to hit Saturn with a low blow then hit the Flatliner for the one ... two ... THREE!  Kanyon pulls off the win over Saturn.

WINNER: Chris Kanyon in 6:05.

Afterrwards, Evolution and The Flock continued to fight on the floor until referees pulled them apart...

["Hell Yeah" by Disturbed]

The glass shattered and out came 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin in street clothes.  Austin took the ring then took a microphone...

AUSTIN:  "If you thought that 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin wouldn't be here tonight, one week after I got railroaded out of a shot at the World Champion then you better check your ass into a hospital cause you're nuts!  Last week, I see William Regal come down into my match and hit Vampiro with a chair.  I take that damn chair away from Regal and RVD catches me by surprise with a Van Daminator.  I can deal with that.  Vampiro covers me and William Regal holds down my damn foot ... EH! EH! I can't deal with that, I can't deal with it at all.  So I roll in here tonight and I hear that I get both William Regal and Vampiro in thirteen days at March Madness and I couldn't be happier.  But you say, Stone Cold, what's your problem with Vampiro?  Vampiro, I don't know and I don't care if you're somehow aligned with William Regal because I couldn't give a rats ass about that.  You saw an opportunity to climb up that ladder at Stone Cold's expense.  You didn't do anything wrong but if you think that's gonna save you from gettin' your ass whipped at the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin then you've got another thing comin!  I'm goin' to March Madness and then I'm goin' to Lord Of The Ring and I will be the World Champion!"

["Kong At The Gates" by The Misfits]

The arena went dark as 'The Dark Angel' Vampiro walked out to the ring.  Vampiro got into the ring and took a microphone of his own...

VAMPIRO:  "I wasn't going to come out here and interrupt your tirade until you mentioned something about me being in with William Regal?  I showed up in that cage match and I saved your ass from having to go it alone against two men.  You don't owe me anything except some respect.  I didn't even know Regal was holding your leg down and really ... I don't care.  You can talk all you want about how you're gonna whip my ass, whip Regal's ass, whip everyone's ass but come March Madness I'll whip your ass and I will pin you again."

Vampiro and Stone Cold stepped up and were face to face.  That was until William Regal snuck into the ring.  Regal spun Austin around and decked him with the brass knuckles, knocking Austin down and out.  Regal smiled then extended a hand to Vampiro.  Vampiro responded by decking Regal with a right hand!  Vampiro pummeled away on Regal.  Regal nailed Vampiro in the gut and went for a knux shot but Vampiro ducked, scooped up Regal and planted him with the Vampiro Spike!  Vampiro left the ring standing tall...

Main Event: Taz & Rob Van Dam v. Jeff Jarrett & Scott Steiner.  "War Machine" sounded over the speakers as 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz made his way out to the ring.  "Walk" by Pantera blasted over the speakers as 'The Whole F'n Show' Rob Van Dam headed out to the ring.  Then, "Cowboy" by Kid Rock blared over the speakers as the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett made his way out to the ring.  "I Am Hated" by SlipKnot blasted over the speakers as the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner headed out to the ring along with his favorite freak, Midajah.  Taz will challenge Jeff Jarrett for the US Heavyweight Title at March Madness in a Street Fight while Rob Van Dam will challenge Scott Steiner for the World Championship.  There was bad blood between both sides resulting in an intense back and forth brawl between the two teams.  The closing moments of the match would see Jeff Jarrett go for a single arm DDT on Taz but Taz countered it with a northern lights tazplex for two.  Taz picked up Jarrett and went for a clothesline but Jarrett ducked.  Jarrett went for the Stroke but Taz elbowed him off.  Taz dumped Jarrett with a High Cradle Tazplex for the one ... two ... THR ... Steiner breaks the pin!  Steiner hammered on Taz until Rob Van Dam came in with a flying kick sending Steiner to the outside.  Van Dam bounced off the ropes and dove onto Steiner with a running somersault plancha!  Jarrett went and grabbed his guitar but the referee grabbed it from him.  Taz comes from behind and TAZMISSION on Jarrett!  Taz has it locked it!  Jarrett has no escape!  Jarrett taps out!  Jarrett taps out!  Taz has made the NGW U.S. Heavyweight Champion tap out!

WINNERS: Rob Van Dam and Taz in 11:21.

Rating: ** 1/4
