-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-== NGW Ring Wars - February 18 / 2002 -==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-== We opened with
some graphic footage of the vicious assault of Rob Van Dam at the hands of
Scott Steiner and William Regal last week.
As we saw exclusive footage of Van Dam being stretchered out and loaded
into an ambulance we were informed that Van Dam suffered a severe concussion, a
dislocated shoulder and a broken rib.
His status for Blazing Glory is questionable at best, just six days before
the event what happens to the Steel Cage Tag Team match? We'll find out tonight...
"Praise" by Sevendust played in the background of the NGW Ring
Wars opening sequence which featured a montage of various New Generation
Wrestling superstars such as; The Sandman & Too Cold Scorpio, DDP, Chris
Kanyon, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, William Regal, Sabu, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Rob Van
Dam, Scott Steiner, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and more. This is New Generation Wrestling RING WARS... We entered the
arena as Joey Styles and Paul Heyman welcomed everyone to the show. Even Heyman had to admit that Scott Steiner
and William Regal crossed a line last week in their assault of Rob Van Dam... ["I Am Hated" by SlipKnot] Speaking of the
devils, the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner and his 'right
hand man' William Regal headed out to the ring looking very proud of
themselves. Regal took the microphone... REGAL: "How
dare you people question our actions last week?
Rob Van Dam is a filthy worthless toerag and he got exactly what he
deserved. You want someone to
blame? Blame Shawn Michaels. He put us together and therefore he is
responsible for the careers we destroy.
Now please show some respect for the greatest athlete in the world ...
The World Champion, Scott Steiner!" STEINER: "Rob
Van Dam is a piece of trailer park trash just like all of you and all we did
last week was take out the trash. RVD
talks a big game but where's Van Dam now?
Huh? He's laid up in a hospital
bed like the little bitch that he is. He
couldn't hand the awesome power of Big Poppa Pump. I dominted Rob Van Dam and then I destroyed
Rob Van Dam. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin,
that's exactly what's going to happen to you at the pay-per-view cause the
match is still on and you got no partner.
You've got to step into the cage with William Regal and the largest arms
in the world. If you thought the beating
Van Dam got last week was something, it was nothing compared to what's going to
happen to Austin this Sunday! Can't
nobody stop us!" ["Dead Cell" by Papa Roach] Big Poppa Pump
was interrupted as The Dudley Boyz walked out of the entrance. Buh Buh Ray had a microhpone... BUH BUH: "You
two crossed a damn line last week. Scott
Steiner, you walk around here like you're the baddest dog in the yard, like you
run this joint. Do you actually think
that what you did to RVD last week was going to go unanswered? You're gonna pay ... And you're pay
hard. You like putting people through
tables? Then try putting the kings of
the table, The Dudley Boyz through a table ... TONIGHT!" STEINER:
"Great, another redneck piece of trash. We accept but first I gotta call the hospital
and get them to line up two more beds next to RVD because you two inbred rednecks
just made a big mistake." We headed to our
first break ... Scott Steiner & William Regal face off against The Dudley
Boyz in a Tables Match tonight! Opening Match: Maximum Force v. Jung Dragons. "Simon Says" by Drain STH blasted
over the speakers as Dawn Marie led out Maximum Force, Simon Diamond &
Swinger, to the ring. Then, "I
Don't Mind" by Drain STH brought out Kaz Hayashi and Yang, the Jung
Dragons. Simon & Swinger are heading
into a match against the Dudley Boyz at Blazing Glory but Kaz & Yang showed
that this was no tune-up match. Simon
& Swinger seemed to be taking the Jung Dragons lightly to start but that
was a mistake and they quickly had to get focused. The ending would see Simon put Yang in a
scorpion deathlock. Kaz came in with a
springboard dropkick on Simon to break it.
Yang and Simon crawled to their corners but Swinger ran across the ring,
knocking Kaz off the apron. Swinger went
back to his corner and go the tag from Simon.
Swinger grabbed Yang and went for the Swing Thing but Yang shoved
Swinger off into the ropes. Yang went
for a lariat but Swinger ducked, stopped and planted Yang with the Swing Thing
for the one ... two ... THREE! Maximum Force
get a good win heading into the PPV. WINNERS: Maximum Force in 5:08. Rating: * 1/2 '24 Karat Pictures
Presents ... A Shattered Dreams Production ... GOLDUST!' GOLDUST:
"Sometimes I wish I had never met you because then I could go to
sleep at night not knowing there was someone like you out there - Good Will
Hunting, 1997. But I do know you ... I
know you all too well. The world thinks
they know you but they don't. They don't
know what you're really like, they don't know of the sins that you have
comitted. But they will. They will know and they will be ashamed of
the support they've given you through the years. You have little time left ... the time for
you to be exposed is drawing near. I
think this Sunday will be the perfect time for you and the world to witness the
uncut, unedited and uncensored version of the truth. Ohhh I'm getting goosebumps with anticipation
... It will be a glorious night and you will never forget the name of
GOLDUST!" Match #2: Scott Vick v. Sabu. "(sic)" by SlipKnot blasted over
the speakers as The Flock's 'Sick' Scott Vick made his way out to the
ring. Then, "Little Crazy" by
Fight blared over the speakers as Bill Alfonso brought out 'The Human Highlight
Reel' Sabu to the ring. Sabu has been having
his problems with Raven's Flock, specifically Kanyon. Tonight Sabu looked to take his agression out
on Scott Vick. The ending would see Sabu
miss an asai moonsault to the outside.
Vick rolled Sabu in and came in with a springboard clothesline for two. Vick went for the Cure but Sabu countered it
with a slingshot then an Air Sabu into the corner. Vick staggered out and Sabu planted him with
a DDT. Sabu got a chair from Fonzie and
hit the Triple Jump Moonsault for the one ... two ... THREE! Sabu sends a message
to Chris Kanyon with an impressive win over Scott Vick. WINNER: Sabu in 5:15. Rating: ** 1/2 [backstage] The Coach was
with Jason Jett and Nova... NOVA: "I'd
like to start off by thanking Jamie Knoble and Evan Karagias because you showed
both of us what was right infront of our faces.
Ya see, Jason Jett is a lot like me and together we're ready to set this
place on fire." JETT:
"Professional wrestling is always evolving and we represent the
Evolution of pro-wrestling. We're
changing the face of this sport by constantly innovating and trying to bring
something new to the table each and every time we step out into that
ring." NOVA: "And
that's exactly the reason we're gonna be dangerous because you'll never be able
to predict what we're gonna do next." Match #3: Jamie Knoble & Evan Karagias v. Evolution. "You Know Its Hard" by Crystal
Method blared over the speakers as Jamie Knoble and Evan Karagias headed out to
the ring for this tag team contest.
Then, "Intergalactic" by Beastie Boys blasted over the
speakers as NGW's newest tag team, Evolution of Jason Jett and Nova made their
way out to the ring. Nova and Jett's
styles complimented each other very well and made for an exciting
combonation. The ending would see Knoble
send Jett into the ropes, Jett came off with a handspring elbowsmash but Knoble
ducked, scooped up Jett and spiked him with the Tombstone Piledriver. Knoble covers but Nova breaks it up with a
dropkick to the head. Knoble and Jett
crawled to their corners to make the hot tags.
Nova cleaned house on Karagias and Knoble until Karagias caught Nova
with a reverse neckbreaker. Karagias
went up for the Tidal Wave but Nova moved!
Nova lifted up Karagias and drove him into the mat with the Kryptonite
Krunch for the one ... two ... THREE!
Evolution looks great in their first match together picking up the win! WINNERS: Evolution in 5:03. Rating: ** 3/4 [backstage] We cut to a shot
of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin arriving to the arena in pickup truck. Stone Cold's heading out to the ring. We'll be right back.. ["Hell Yeah" by Disturbed] 'Stone Cold'
Steve Austin headed down to the ring, went to the four corners then took a
microphone... AUSTIN:
"First off, its good that I'm late because I heard Steiner and
Regal were out here running their mouths.
Supposedly, I've got a big decision to make about this Sunday because
Rob Van Dam won't be there. It's not
much of a decision but let me take a quick poll ... if you want Stone Cold
Steve Austin to roll into Blazing Glory and whip Scott Steiner and William
Regal's asses gimme a hell yeah? (HELL YEAH!)
I don't give a damn if I got a partner, I never asked for one, I don't
want one and I don't need a damn partner.
Nothing is going to change the fact that I'm gonna stomp a mudhole their
ass and walk it dry. William Regal bring
the brass knuckles, Scott Steiner bring the lead pipe, because Stone Cold's
bringing an ass whipping the likes of which you've never seen. Your days are numbered because in just a few
days you've got to step inside a steel cage with Stone Cold Steve Austin and if
its the last thing I do, I will whip your ass!" ["Oh! Oh! Shawn"] The NGW
Commissioner, 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels walked out to the ring with a
microphone... MICHAELS:
"Just hold up for a minute, Stone Cold. You're right the match is still on for
Blazing Glory. I didn't suspend Scott
Steiner or William Regal because I knew that you'll give them what's coming to
them this Sunday. BUT you need a tag
team partner, I'm not gonna let you go into that cage alone." AUSTIN: "I don't
need a damn partner, I'm gonna go in there on my own and I wouldn't have it any
other way." MICHAELS: "I
know ... I know ... If you can't find a partner before Sunday then you'll have
to live with who I find to team with you." AUSTIN: "You
do what you have to do because partner or no partner, Steve Austin's going to
Blazing Glory to whip somebody's ass and that's the bottom line 'cause STONE
COLD SAID SO!" Match #4: Chris Kanyon v. Al Snow. "Immune" by Godsmack blasted over
the speakers as Chris Kanyon emerged from the smoke and headed out to the ring
in a leather jacket. Then,
"Breathe" by Prodigy blared over the speakers as Al Snow made his way
out to the ring. In six days at Blazing
Glory, Kanyon will face off with Sabu while Snow goes one-on-one with Diamond
Dallas Page. Which of these two would
get the ever coveted momenteum heading into the PPV? The ending would see Kanyon send Snow into
the ropes and go for a shoulder lift flapjack but Snow ran through Kanyon with
a clothesline. Snow lined up Kanyon and
hit a superkick for two. Snow sent
Kanyon into the ropes, Kanyon ducked a clothesline then hit a thrust kick of
his own for two. Kanyon went for the Flatliner
but Snow elbowed Kanyon off, scooped him up for the Snow Plow but Kanyon
dropped down the back and shoved Snow through the ropes to the outside. Kanyon distracted the referee because he saw
DDP sneaking down. Page picked up Snow
and hit a Diamond Cutter on the outside then left. Kanyon went to the outside and rolled Snow in. Kanyon picked up Snow and hit the Flatliner
for the one ... two ... THREE! Chris
Kanyon picks up the win! WINNER: Chris Kanyon in 5:40. Rating: * 1/4 [backstage] The Coach got
some comments from the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion, 'The Chosen One'
Jeff Jarrett... JARRETT: "Do
you think I care if Taz is on some 'path of rage'? I won't be a victim, I'll be a winner. I'm the Chosen One, the United States
Heavyweight Champion and some short, orange and black loser isn't gonna choke
me out. Taz, your path of rage stops
this Sunday when you step into the ring with the Chosen One. Now choke on that, slapnuts!" Match #5: Jeff Jarrett & The Acolytes v. Taz &

speakers as 'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz walked out to the ring. Sandman & Scorpio defend the World Tag
Team Titles against The Acolytes at Blazing Glory while Jarrett defends the US

Shawn Michaels in the hall... MICHAELS:
"Saturn ... what can I do for you?" SATURN: "I
could go out there again and make another challenge to Raven, appeal to his
manhood but he'll just find some way to back out. I've beaten his goons and I'm gonna beat
Devon Storm tonight. I want a match
against Raven at Blazing Glory." MICHAELS:
"Done. I can't gurantee that
Raven will show up, though." Match #6: Devon Storm v. Saturn. "Terrible Lie" by Nine Inch Nails
blasted over the speakers as The Flock's 'Dangerous' Devon Storm made his way
out to the ring. Then, "Beautiful
People" by Marilyn Manson blared over the speakers as Saturn headed out to
the ring. Saturn was assaulted backstage
by The Flock last week and was looking to extract revenge from Devon
Storm. The ending would see Saturn go
for a brain buster but Storm blocked it and hit one of his own. Storm went up top and came off with a flying
splash but Saturn rolled out of the way.
Saturn hit a T-Bone Suplex then went up top and hit a flying elbowdrop
for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!

and hooked Saturn for the Mind Bender.
Saturn reached forward and held onto the ropes, blocking the hold. Saturn picked up Storm and this time hit the
Death Valley Driver for the one ... two ... THREE! Saturn beats another Flock member and now
he's got Raven at Blazing Glory! WINNER: Saturn in 5:21. Rating: ** 1/2 Afterwards, Scott
Vick and Chris Kanyon hit the ring and went after Saturn. Raven picked his spot, came in and spiked
Saturn with an Evenflow DDT. Raven took
a microphone and slouched in the corner while the Flock stomped on Saturn... RAVEN: "Why
do you insist on fighting me? Why,
Saturn? Why do you want to fight
me? All I wanted was to be your
friend. All I wanted was to fight
alongside you but you won't be my friend.
Why is that, Saturn? Are you
afraid to share the spotlight with me?
You want it all for yourself, Saturn and you don't care about my
feelings. What about me? WHAT ABOUT RAVEN? You don't think it hurts me everytime I have
to give you the Evenflow? It does. I don't want to hurt you but you've given me
no choice. I'll show up this Sunday because
that's what you want but remember, it didn't have to be this way. So it was written and so it shall come to
pass ... QUOTE THE RAVEN, NEVERMORE!" Main Event: Scott Steiner & William Regal v. The
Dudley Boyz - Tables Match. "I Am
Hated" by SlipKnot blasted over the speakers as the NGW World Champion,
'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner and William Regal made their way out to the ring
for our Main Event. Then, "Dead
Cell" by Papa Roach blared over the speakers as The Dudley Boyz made their
way out to the ring carrying the table.
The first man to put a member of the opposing team through that table
will win the match for his team. The
Dudleyz are the masters of the table while Steiner and Regal showed just how
vicious they can be last week with the assault on Rob Van Dam. This would be a heated main event with many
close calls involving the table. The
closing moments of the match would see Regal go for the British Neckbreaker on
D-Von but Buh Buh came back in to break it up.
The Dudleyz then planted Regal with a 3D! 'D-VON!
GET THE TABLE!' Buh Buh shouted as D-Von went to the outside and brought
the table into the ring. Steiner had recovered
and pulled D-Von out of the ring.
Steiner bearhugged D-Von and rammed his spine against the side of the ring
several times. Steiner drilled D-Von
with a Steinerline sending him over the guardrail into the crowd. Buh Buh had setup Regal on the table and was
heading up top for a splash. Steiner
came in and crotched Buh Buh up top.
Regal rolled off the table as Steiner went up top and threw Buh Buh with
an overhead belly-to-belly superplex through the table! Steiner and Regal take the win! WINNERS: Scott Steiner and William Regal in 11:25. Rating: 1/4* Afterwards,
Steiner added insult to injury by putting Buh Buh in the Steiner Recliner. D-Von came back in but Regal went into his
tights and nailed D-Von with the brass knucks.
Regal stomped away on D-Von while Steiner refused to release the Steiner
Recliner... ["Hell Yeah" by Disturbed] The glass
shattered as 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin charged down the aisle, pulling off his
t-shirt. Austin slid into the ring and
drilled Regal with a big right knocking him down. Austin then went right and Steiner, opening
up on the World Champion with right hands.
Austin went for a Stunner on Steiner but Steiner shoved Austin off into
a brass knucks shot from Regal! Steiner
and Regal beat down Stone Cold as the show came to a close. Is this a sign of things to come this Sunday
if Austin tries to go it alone? Or will
Shawn Michaels force a tag team partner on the Rattlesnake? ==-==-==-==-==-==-== NGW News & Notes-: ==-==-==-==-==-==-== -NGW has Blazing Glory on February 24th, 2002 from The
