-On the Countdown Show, Joey Styles read a prepared statement from NGW Management regarding the wrestler known as 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

STYLES:  "In light of recent circumstances surrounding the personal life of Steve Williams aka. Stone Cold Steve Austin, New Generation Wrestling has given Steve an indefinate leave of absence from the company.  New Generation Wrestling does not condone his actions but does not believe in kicking people when they are down and feel that Steve's recent actions are not in his character.  NGW is giving Steve an opportunity to seek out the help required to get his life back in order.  There is no time table on a possible return of Steve Austin but if he can take the steps required to change, NGW will consider giving him another chance.  Thank you."

-We then went to NGW Commissioner, Shawn Michaels who had an announcement regarding the Main Event of SuperClash.

MICHAELS:  "Due to the fact Steve Austin is no longer a part of NGW's active roster, that leaves a big hole in the promotion and tonight's Pay-Per-View event.  However, some things are beyond our control and bigger then professional wrestling.  Therefore, I have made the decision that the winner of tonight's match between Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho will challenge Scott Steiner for the NGW World Championship later in the show."

"Nothing" by Unloco played in background of a video montage highlighting the events leading up to the main matches here tonight at NGW SUPERCLASH.  Tonight; the rookie Randy Orton was given a chance to be set free by The Flock but declined and was beaten to a bloody pulp but Orton got some revenge and will try to get more tonight against Chris Kanyon.  Juventud Guerrera gets another shot at Rey Misterio Jr's World Cruiserweight Title but this time it will be a Mexican Death Match.  'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett has used his guitar as a weapon for long enough so Shawn Michaels decided to hang it up on a pole when Jarrett meets Vampiro tonight.  'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz defends the United States Heavyweight Title against Eddy Guerrero.  Guerrero may not be able to fight Taz but there's no one sneakier then Guerrero and if anyone can find a way to unseat Taz it's Eddy Guerrero.  Raven has found himself the best partner he can in Kane and it's shown as the two have dominated their way to becoming the World Tag Team Champions.  However, Sabu and Devon Storm have also found success in a short time as a team.  Sabu and Storm will put their bodies on the line to walk out with the World Tag Team Titles.  Kevin Nash shocked many when he turned against Shawn Michaels a few weeks ago out of frustration for being unable to capture the World Championship.  But it would be a debuting Booker T who put an end to what could have been a back breaking experience for Shawn Michaels.  Booker T makes his NGW in-ring debut tonight against one of the biggest and baddest men walking, Kevin Nash.  NGW was put into a jam tonight but Shawn Michaels has stated that the winner of the grudge match between Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho will go on later in the night to challenge 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner for the NGW World Championship.  It all goes down tonight at SUPERCLASH...

We entered the Compaq Center as Joey Styles and Paul Heyman welcomed us to SuperClash and thanked everyone for ordering the event.  Then they sent us to the ring for action...
