"Summertime" by Sublime played in background of a video montage highlighting the events leading up to the main matches here tonight at NGW SUMMERTIME SHOWDOWN.  Tonight; Jeff Jarrett was real tough when Vampiro was on one leg but tonight 'The Dark Angel' is healthy and ready to get some of The Chosen One.  Just when we think he's down and out, the NGW World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Misterio Jr. finds some way to win but will he find a way to overcome the challenge of Juventud Guerrera?  'The Human Suplex Machine' Taz has been damn near unstoppable as the NGW United States Heavyweight Champion and tonight he attempts to make Chris Kanyon - Just Another Victim.  When Eddy Guerrero and Rob Van Dam face off tonight, one thing is guranteed and that is the match will last 30 Minutes.  Whoever emerges at the end of the 30 Minute Ironman Match with the most falls will be the winner.  The Dudley Boyz seem to have met their match in Raven and Kane.  Is it inevitable that Raven & Kane will take the World Tag Team Titles tonight or will their trip to Dudleyville end in defeat?  Chris Jericho thought he had it all.  He had Brock Lesnar.  He had a win over Stone Cold Steve Austin and he had the Toughest SOB in NGW neutralized.  That was until Stone Cold refused to give up and began to outsmart Y2J and tonight, Chris Jericho still has his win over Austin, he still has Brock Lesnar, but he has to go one on one with Stone Cold Steve Austin for a second time.  The stakes were raised further when it was announced the winner will challenge for the World Championship in one month at SuperClash.  If the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner stays true to his word and shows up here tonight at the Ocean Center, will Shawn Michaels stay true to his word and make Steiner wish he never messed with The Heartbreak Kid or his wife?  All that and more here tonight at SUMMERTIME SHOWDOWN...

We entered Ocean Center as Joey Styles and Paul Heyman welcomed us to Summertime Showdown and thanked everyone for ordering the event.  Then they sent us to the ring for action...

Main Event: Scott Steiner (c) v. ??? - NGW World Championship.  On a night where Rob Van Dam defied the odds, came back and beat Eddy Guerrero then held on for the win in the Ironman Match, on a night where Raven & Kane took the World Tag Team Titles, on a night where 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin outsmarted and outfought Chris Jericho to become the Number One Contender, it all comes down to an unknown.  It all comes down to this.  "I Need A Freak" by Too $hort blasted over the speakers as the NGW World Champion, 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner headed out to the ring along with his favorite freak Midajah.  Steiner's shown no regard for the authority of NGW Commissioner Shawn Michaels and no respect for the man, his career ending back injury or his wife.  Steiner pushed, pushed and pushed some more and now tonight Shawn Michaels said that he had no other choice but to abuse his power and make Steiner defend the World Championship but against who?  "Oh! Oh! Shawn!" sounded over the speakers as the NGW Commissioner, 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels walked out to the ring.  Michaels removed his jacket then took the microphone...

MICHAELS:  "Back the hell up Steiner!  Its about time somebody put you in your place.  Its about time somebody shut your damn mouth and when I'm in trouble.  When I need a favor, when something needs to get done, I don't look to anybody for help.  I look to my blood and Steiner, the man who is gonna take that World Championship from you in a few moments is my blood and he needs no introduction so I'm gonna go take a seat right over there on commentary and watch first hand as the Big Bad Booty Daddy goes down for the count!"

Shawn Michaels exited the ring and went over to commentary as Steiner paced around the ring.  Then ...  "OWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" echooed through the building and out of the entrance stepped 7 feet 300 pounds of 'BIG SEXY' KEVIN NASH!  KEVIN NASH IS IN NGW!  Steiner's face froze at the sight of Nash walking to the ring.  Steiner protested but Nash stepped over the top rope and drilled Steiner with a forearm to the face.  The bell sounded and the match was on!  Nash drilled Steiner with forearms then sent him into the ropes.  Steiner came off with a Steinerline but Nash only went down to one knee!  Steiner walked out of the ring to collect himself and strategize.  Steiner 'consulted' with Midajah, threatened Shawn Michaels then came back into the ring.  Steiner locked up with Nash and threw Nash back into the corner showing his awesome strength.  Steiner flexed and kissed a bicep.  Nash stroked the goatee, thinking things over then locked up with Steiner again.  Nash tried to throw Steiner down but Steiner pushed Nash back.  Two powerhouses colliding here.  One more lockup and Nash drilled Steiner in the gut with a knee.  Nash pounded the back with forearms then hit a sidewalk slam for two.  Nash threw Steiner through the ropes and headed out of the ring.  Nash laid into Steiner with forearms on the outside then tried to send him into the post but Steiner blocked and sent Nash into the guardrail.  Steiner came in but Nash moved and Steiner nailed the rail.  Nash rolled Steiner back in and covered for just one.  Nash slammed down Steiner and hit an elbowdrop, a second and a third misses!  Steiner kissed the bicep and dropped an elbow of his own.  Steiner laid an arm across Nash but only got two.  Steiner stomped away on Nash then hit a belly to belly suplex for two.  These two powerhouses fought it out over the NGW World Championship.  The closing moments of the match would see Steiner hit a backbreaker on Nash for two.  Steiner punched away on Nash then hit a big T-Bone Suplex for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Nash kicked out!  Steiner worked over the back some more then went up to the second rope.  Steiner came off but Nash caught him in a bearhug then rammed Steiner into the corner.  Nash hit Steiner with a barrage of elbows and knees then pulled Steiner out, picked him up and hit a Snake Eyes for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Steiner kicked out!  Nash picked up Steiner, sent him into the ropes and big boot!  Nash covers for the one ... two ... THR ... NO!  Nash sends Steiner back into the ropes, Steiner ducks the boot, and hits a big Steinerline knocking Nash down.  Steiner's going for the Steiner Recliner!  Nash is fighting it.  Steiner finally gets it but Nash reaches back with his legs and gets the ropes!  Steiner held on for four.  Steiner picked up Nash for a belly to belly but Nash countered with a headbutt and a choke slam!  Nash picks up Steiner and sets him up for the Jacknife Powerbomb!  Steiner drops down and drills Nash low doubling him over.  The referee is threatening to DQ Steiner and Steiner drills the referee with a right hand!  Steiner is looking to get disqualified!  Steiner leaves the ring, and finds a chair underneath.  Steiner's coming back in but Shawn Michaels slides in and SUPERKICK!  Michaels Superkicked the chair into Steiner's face!  Steiner is out!  Nash covers ... Michaels drags the referee over and tells him to count...
